The Stuffs were nice. Location is fantastic.
The location in Old Montreal next to Notre Dame Cathedral was excellent. And plenty of cafes and restaurants near by. The room was a nice size especially the bathroom.
The reception desk on arrival was rude. I was asked no less than 6 times to repeat my name (very simple name) for the reservation. I had inquired about earlier check in on arrival and was told I was top priority but no guarantees. I was told to call back (it was noon when I arrived) mid afternoon to determine if room was ready. I called back shortly after 2 pm and after a lengthy hold I was told again I was first priority and no guarantees. In the end I wasn't able to check in before 4 pm which was fine but then why tell me I was first priority....it was such an obvious lie in my opinion. I could tell the receptionist couldn't care less and I'm even doubtful she put me on top priority. My adult daughters with me couldn't believe how rude she was when she talked to me about the check in and repeatedly asking me what my name was. She was short tempered, abrupt and very rude. I didn't start with a good impression of the hotel. Having said that, when I did check in at 4 pm, a different receptionist checked us in and she was very polite and pleasant to chat with.
