My husband and I chose this hotel mainly for location during our visit for Oktoberfest. Walking distance to train station, festival park, and even old town. The neighborhood is lively and ethnic, which we enjoyed, but can see why others may not. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast!!! One of the best we’ve had at a three star hotel. The staff there were very nice too and kept everything clean. We were grateful the room had air conditioning, as it was a little warm the time we were there. A few things to note for the room: -Thin pillows with no support -Mattress was too soft for our liking -The bathroom was extremely tiny, which was ok for us, except for the placement of the toilet paper holder. Not easy to reach. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel and given that Oktoberfest was going on, it provided a better value than other locations.
Pros:Breakfast: Exceptional, free breakfast, with a wide selection and long hours. Hot eggs, meatballs, sausages, a wide array of pastries, breads, pretzels, coffees, juices, even mimosas on Sunday! Parking: Paid parking was available. Pre-book parking, so it doesn't fill-up. Finding alternative parking in the area is difficult, at best. Be aware that parking requires a tight fit in a car-elevator, and stacking on a vehicle ramp, so don't try to bring an SUV. Room: Clean, well-maintained room. Not the largest or most plush, but it exceeds the needs of the typical traveler; it was great for the price. Large, mechanical, exterior rouladens on the windows did a great job of shutting out the street-lights. Staff: Multi-lingual, friendly staff. They were quick to offer assistance, and a free umbrella in the rain. I commend the staff on helping me back the rental car into the car-elevator, as well. Thanks for the patience. Location: Great location for Oktoberfest, a VERY short walk to Theresienwiese. Also, we'd walked to the Glockenspiel, the large shopping areas, train station and Munich's Hofbraühaus without any trouble. Value: This hotel shined in value. We met many other couples staying in Munich for Oktoberfest, and at Mirabell München, we got a lot more bang for the Euro.
