Overview

In the orchard country of southeastern Nebraska above the Missouri River, the Best Western Nebraska City Inn settles travelers into the heart of Nebraska City, Nebraska, minutes from the town's most beloved landmarks. This is where Arbor Day began. Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, kept by Nebraska Game and Parks, preserves the estate of J. Sterling Morton, whose 1872 idea for a tree-planting holiday spread from here across the country, and its 52-room mansion, arboretum, and lilac-lined grounds still draw visitors. The fall AppleJack Festival celebrates the area's apple harvest, and Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard keep the orchard tradition alive nearby. Each guest room comes with plush bedding, a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, and a complimentary breakfast opens the day. An indoor pool, fitness center, and business center round out the stay. Whether you come for the festivals, the river trails, or the trees that started a national tradition, Nebraska City stays with you.
