The host was extremely nice, helpful and accommodating, this cannot be understated. He improved the enjoyment of our stay immensely. The private onsen were very relaxing and well maintained.
The beds were slightly uncomfortable and the lobby music was heard in the hotel room almost the entire day.
The area was picturesque and the onsens were hot and relaxing. The shuttle service to Nikko was very good.
The kitchen did not have any crockery, cutlery or glasses. The photos made the room and beds look a lot bigger!
Onsens were very nice, host transport service to Nikko station
No restaurants in neighborhood, small room
This is great value for money and they have nine different onsen available. The restaurant meals here are superb and they even went to the trouble of cooking Aussie beef for me on our second night. It's a little distance from town (you will need to catch a taxi) but worth the travel staying in the mountains (ten minutes drive away).
A little out of town but no problem. Everything else great.
The host was very obliging in providing transport to the town centre as it is not covered by any public transport - unless you are prepared to use a taxi. No language issues as the host has adequate English ability.
The path to the private hot pools could be improved, it is not well lit and quite rough.
With a stay at The Pageant in Nikko, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Irohazaka Winding Road and Akechidaira Plateau. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
