The place was a genuine Japanese guest house. Saeko, the elderly host was very welcoming and showed a real interest in me and tried very hard to communicate in English. The breakfasts were amazing treats. The local Onsen was also an experience not to miss! The ski field is very close and a trip to the Monkey Park (1 hour bus ride) is well worth the journey. Then have lunch at Hotaru-Tei for an awesome inexpensive exquisite Japanese feast! (Close to the bus stop)
Great location near Yu Moving Walkway and shops/restaurants.
While Miyasakaya is not a luxury hotel the location and the lovely old woman who runs the place more than makes up its lack of quality. The onsen was perfect for our family and it was nice not having to walk to one of the public baths. The owner is a delightful old lady who speaks pretty good English and was so kind and generous to our children. Walk 50 m and you are at the travelator going to the ski hill walk 50 m down and you are on the Main Street
The place is a bit messy.
Lovely lady who ran the place. Charming, authentic minshuku. Delicious Japanese breakfast. Great location for accessing ski slopes. Great value.
The owner is charming. She reminded me of a Miyazaki anime character. She speaks very good English and is very energetic. Location is also excellent, minutes from the center of the village and of the gondola
This place is a mess. There’s stuff everywhere. It’s exotic in a way but feels run down and dirty. And the price is outrageous for the service
3 minute walk to Nozawa Onsen Hikage Ski Resort! The moving walkway and the shopping street is nearby. Simple inn where you can chat with your friends surrounding a kotatsu table.
