I loved the interior design and the staff was extremely kind and took the time to make us feel right at home. The hotel itself is a little bit isolated but was a nice break from the main strip.
I know this is kinda annoying but the pillows sucked! They were WAY to fluffy which sounds rediculous but when your neck is uncomfortable you just can't sleep right! We had to use the decorative pillows which were also not that great.
Spacious room. We stayed in the West End Suite - the grand piano in the room was pretty cool. Cookies / cakes in the afternoon and coffee and tea available all day was nice.
Our room needed a thorough clean - there was a used tissue under the bed which we found when we arrived. The bath didn’t drain and when we lifted the plug it was completely clogged with hair. We asked for our room to be deep cleaned but the latter still wasn’t rectified (apparently they thought we had told them the sink plug was the problem one but if one asks for a deep clean surely it would be appropriate to check both?) so we ended up having to sort it ourselves. Also one of the lights in the bathroom originally didn’t work - which had to be sorted out while we were there. Whilst it is appreciated the hotel is in an old house, it was worrying that there were bare wires visible leading from the floor into the radiators. We had a baby with us who could easily have got hold of those. Also there was no hot water pressure in the bathroom sink. It was odd there were no staff on site in the evenings. It also felt like you were staying in an empty house as there was no life in the communal areas most of the time. Breakfast was a strange and somewhat limited selection.
Chachterful building around 15 minutes walk from historic centre. Well decorated comfortable room, very good bed.
Breakfast was frankly awful especially for a hotel at this price. Negligible cereal options, no bread or toast out, only hot option was frittata which wasn’t ready. Asked for toast and then found no jams etc. These are just basics which even budget hotels manage to get right. Car park a bit messy with bins and no clear marking. Entrance not lit at night.
The staff were so kind! Loved the space and breakfast!
Staff was very pleasant
Carpet was worn. Needs some updating
