The small restaurant has a good food for a diner. Maracaípe is one of the most beautiful beach around.
Mosquitos. Lots of mosquitos. In almost all south Pernambuco's litoral, most of the beach are private. You arrive in a place and what you find is just walls fancies, restaurants, pousadas and hotels.
Nice spot to relax a few days.
On high tide the beach can‘t be used as the water breakes directly on the concrete blocks in front of the pousda. Also we had surf shorts stolen from our terrace during one night.
The location is perfect, service was also excellent. Friendly people working there. Food was well prepared. Big breakfast with many options, fresh juices and fruits.
They have only one room/house really in front of the ocean, not as they have described the hotel. Plenty of mosquitos inside the house, because the bathroom and bedroom were not completed closed on the roof/wall, so that they could came from the outside. They should repair it before the guests came.
Great place. The room was close to the restaurant and swimming pool. The beach was really close too. You can enjoy a relaxing time while having breakfast. Overall, it was what we were looking for. We would come again!
Nice food at the restaurant, but the service was a little bit slow for the small number of people using the bar. Also, they charge the service fee.
Beautiful Pousada, spacious and clean, funky coloured decor around the grounds with hammocks and gardens to enjoy. Pousada relaxed vibe with a more expansive hotel gardens feel (ie you have your own space) when you get shown to your room. Pleasant staff and service generally very quick. Clean simple rooms with cute little wooden keys and door signs; lots of nice details everywhere. Lovely restaurant area with generous breakfast (6:30-10am). Some provision at meal times for veggies (around the same as most places in Brazil!). Right on the beach with palm trees and clean sand right on the doorstep via a short ramp. Less than 10 mins in a taxi from the main stretch of Porto de Galinhas, which was great as our Pousada felt tucked away and quiet whilst knowing we were near enough to other things going on when we wanted to be busier. The bar and restaurant are open til 8pm. We timed our visit accidentally just right to catch the best dates for when the tide is just right to see the Piscinas Naturais around a 10 minute walk out to see along the sea (Little Rock pools with fishies and crabs, and we even saw an eel in one of the bigger pools!). Tip - take some flip flops or wet shoes for this as it’s a bit too rocky in parts to enjoy clambering over! It’s flat but uneven. That same evening we caught a trip a few minutes walk away from the hostel on a Jangada (little raft boat) to see the sunset and watch our guide gently scoop up some seahorses in a jar to show us before putting them back amongst the reeds (RS30 each for the mini trip which lasted just under an hour and so worth it). We stayed for 3 nights at the end of a 5 week stay in Recife for Carnival, and it was the perfect post-madness break haha! We got a bus there from Cais de Santa Rita bus terminal in Recife for around RS11 each, and it took 2.5 hours to get to Maracaípe. It was good value for money but not super cheap, but well worth what we paid. Obrigada!
When the sun goes in, watch out for mosquitos in the gardens and around the sand/sun beds as we got eaten alive (none all day though, and mossie attack at night is common anywhere!). Around the bar area at night it was much better. Bar area only open until 8pm, but ideal if you plan to go into Porto de Galinhas or chill in your room at night (the minibar is the same price as the bar so you’ve always got a few beers handy in the fridge) for when the bar is closed. If you’re a party animal, this maybe isn’t the place for you, but if you’re happy to chill in the daytime and enjoy the beach on the doorstep, the gardens and bar, and the little pool, you can always head into the more touristy Porto de Galinhas at night for a much busier scene (which we actually didn’t enjoy as much as the calmness of the pousada haha). It took staff a little while to reply when our card payment didn’t work first time, but they were super helpful when they did get back to us.
