Pros: Grounds were beautiful

5.1 Okay
Cons: Uncomfortable beds Horrible food Unfriendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The attention given by staff!!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: It`s a very beautiful resort. lot to do.
Cons: I thought the food at the buffet was average at best, could have been a lot better
7.7 Good
Pros: Staff was always cleaning
Cons: Had a couple housekeeping issues, only have two choices for beer
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall, my family and I had a great time
Cons: I wasn't aware that you had to wear formal clothing to attend different restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Variety of food was awesome and so were the juices. We especially liked the restaurants. Service was great and lots of smiles. Very clean.
Cons: Would like less oil used for cooking. Would like colder milk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant buffet offers a lot of variety. Even though the cooking is on a large scale the food is still tasty. The "standard" room at Tropical was lovely - very big with a lot of storage space, quality furniture and a comfy bed. They clean every morning and stack up your fridge with beverages. The entire staff is very kind and helpful making you feel at ease all of the time. We were impressed by the cleaness of the facilities - it's a huge resort and it's good to know that they are constantly taking care of it, otherwise things would quickly start to go south. If you're looking for a few days of complete relaxation, just enjoying yourself by the sea and beach then Barcelo is the place to go.
Cons: The biggest and more or less only downside was that you need to pay 20$ for the wifi per day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Rosewood Mayakoba is quite possibly one of the finest resorts I’ve ever experienced around the world. The staff is hospitable and accommodating and the luxury, pampering experience can best be described as other-worldly. Each guest is treated like they are old friends of the staff and every detail is catered to hand and foot. There is no request that can be made and not achieved. I plan on visiting this location from this point forward for many years to come.
Cons: Nothing, it was absolutely perfect

Pros: Staff is genuinely happy to help.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not do enough for us, it was almost as if we did not ask for enough stuff to challenge them. Amazing experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this place is PERFECT! Every detail, every staff member, EVERYTHING! If I could give it 6 stars I would. This place is beyond amazing.
Cons: Not 1 thing, it was PERFECT!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: We wish the food was less experimental, fusión, gourmet, and more tradicional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An extraordinary hotel that is a master at making you feel special--no matter what your age. Because it's expensive, I was worried that it would be stiff and snobby...it was anything but. The hotel guests were almost as delightful as the hotel staff who I would have loved to take home with me. Vacations are for pampering yourself. This hotel has got that down to a science.
Cons: My only complaint is that they quote a price but it actually ended up being 30-40% higher once you added all the fees in. Once you got used to it, it was okay though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were celebrating our honeymoon, our plan was to stay in Playa del Carmen (Rosewood) for 5 nights and then in Tulum for the next 5 nights. The Rosewood Mayakoba was so great we ended up leaving Tulum after the first night there and coming back to the Rosewood where we spent 9 night out of 10. The staff is genuinely happy to be there, everyone is so welcoming and helpful, you just don't want to leave this place. Truly felt like our home away from home.
Cons: The tours were overpriced, we ended up booking tours directly without going through the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly all of them
Cons: Italian Restraunt music noisy
Barceló Maya Caribe - Xpu Há - Bedroom

9.6 Excellent (6,959 reviews)
C$ 376+
Overview Reviews
The Barceló Maya Caribe hotel is a gift to your senses. Located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, it has the scent of the Caribbean, the softness of its fine white sands, and a view of a beach of endless beauty.
6.8 Good
Cons: too much noise in the rooms near the bar.
7.5 Good
Pros: The facilities were great. There are many entertainment and dining options available. Strikers Sports Bar was a lot of fun.
Cons: The service at times wasn't the best. We payed for a Premium Level room, but it didn't feel like a Premium treatment. Response times from staff are long. Besides not having to pay for room service delivery there's really nothing special about the premium level (except the room). You can hear everything going on outside the rooms, even at 3 AM. The room doors slam very easily if one's not careful and can be heard even from different floors. Not sure if I would stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent. The buffet was good and the a la cartes were fabulous
Cons: We weren’t impressed with the shows in the theater. We were there 4 years ago, and the entertainment was much better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beginning with checking in, everyone was so polite and helpful. The buffet's we tried were delicious and the steakhouse we ate at one night was the best! Our room was amazing. We didn't try the pools but spent most our time lounging at the beach.
Cons: We liked everything about the trip.
6.8 Good
Cons: The room didn't have any shelves/ drawers where to put the clothing. You only have hanging space. The fact that they show available watersports is not accurate. There is not enough equipement for the amount of rooms they have. There are actually 5 Barcelo hotels sharing that equipment. You have to stay on line at before the store opens in order to make a reservation. We could not use any of them in the 6 days stay. We were told that the hotel was ordering more... but that is what they always say.
7.7 Good
Pros: Average room. Below average bathroom.
Cons: More servers on the beach would be great. Also room service menu could use some improvement.ee
5.0 Okay
Pros: When we checked in it took 1.5 hours to fix their mistakes. And they did not take payment so the next day they kocked us out of our room
Cons: Had to make reservations for most resteraunts even though they were half empty. Even whrn we made a reservation we were told they did not have one and could not seet us even though there were over 100 empty seats..... food was mediocre. Humidity so high, interior of jotels are slick w sweat. They have to come squiggy floors every morning so rooms are musty. They do not clean their beaches. Tons of stinky seaweed everywhere during our stay
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms were dated and there was musky smell that wouldn't go away. Staff will always say Yes to anything you ask but nothing gets done.
Cons: Rooms were dated . Bathroom was average

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurants and food in general were excellent. Staff was very friendly and made us feel valued and at home.
Cons: A lot of sea weed in the ocean somewhat spoiled beach experience. The description of the services on booking.com and real offer did not match.
9.7 Excellent
Cons: The sargaso (algae) invading the beach and the ocean, Mosquitos .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff is extremely courteous and responsive! Spa was wonderful. Grounds are gorgeous.
Cons: Give guests the ability to run jets/pumps on the plunge pools.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The place is gorgeous, the staff was amazingly kind and the location is just brilliant. The All-inclusive is awesome, from the mini bar and room service, to the absolutely delightful restaurants that you can visit and dwell on the million options the have for a meal/dinner.
Cons: The beach was very Rocky and it had a lot of weed on the shore. It didn't had anything to do with the hotel, it's more of an environmental issue, however it do affects the experience a little bit.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: On a very minor point, We would like to have more Mexican influence in decor and feel of the Resort. It is an exceptional property. We had an amazing time, however we would have like to have heard Mexican music playing and not American "oldies". Overall an absolutely stunning Resort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, everything was excellent. Very clean and well maintained.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You cannot help the overgrowth of seaweed where the sandbags use to counter beach erosion .
Cons: Chili’s overly air conditioned restaurants
8.0 Excellent
Pros: pool, food...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very friendly and well trained.
Cons: Some rooms are a little far from the beach
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is the best hotel in Mexico, of course it is a bit expensive! The staff always willing to help and make it the best experience! The food is unbeatable I recommend the "Cocina de Autor" restaurant!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Grand Velas Riveria Maya has fantastic facilities all around, with gorgeous pools and the best beach area I've ever visited. The service was impeccable (shout-outs to Bayron in the Zen Grand; Jorge, Ana, and Omar at Chaka, & Dafne and Alexander at the beach, who each went above and beyond), and we felt pampered and at ease for the entirety of our stay. The only spa service we booked was the water ceremony, but it was amazing, and we would've gladly stayed twice as long as we did (about 2 hours) but for our dinner plans. The main reason we chose this resort over other all-inclusive options in PDC, Tulum, and Cancun was the food's reputation, and it was absolutely the right choice. Breakfasts at Chaka and lunches at Azul were amazing, and our dinners (2x Cocina de Autor, Piaf, and Sen Lin) were truly great, too. Next time we do all-inclusive, this place is a no-brainer. Taking everything into account, though, it will be difficult to visit any other property in the area, despite the fact that we love exploring areas outside of resorts and having dozens of dining and drinking options. The overall experience offered by Grand Velas is second-to-none, and we'll be looking forward to visiting again as soon as possible.
Cons: The live music during dinners at Cocina de Autor, Sen Lin, and Piaf was pretty cheesy (think clarinets playing Sweet Child of Mine and harps playing the theme from Titanic). The quality of the food, service, and rest of the environs more than made up for it, but management should consider better live options (chill jazz would suffice) or curated playlists. For the money, I expected a slightly better beverage program. The liquor choices are very good, but having cocktail menus (and, preferably, different menus for different bars) at areas other than the beach service bar would be nice, and a tiki bar on the beach would be amazing. In the end, I sipped mostly straight tequila (all great stuff). So, some small areas for improvement, but we absolutely loved our stay overall.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food was great. Room and accommodations fantastic .
Cons: The ocean at the beach area was rocky and shallow. Need to wear water shoes to go in. Policy on no reserving pool chairs not followed by many guests

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, well maintained hotel and nature
Cons: Quite humid in the room especially for people travel from non-humid places. De-humidifier might be suggested.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent (but pricey) and the serenity and natural surroundings were fabulous. The hotel partnered with an excellent travel agency, Maritur, who arranged our airport pickups and two excursions. We had a wonderful time.
Cons: Time to do some light upgrades in the villa bathrooms. Some rust around tub fixtures, shower fixtures old, and shower layout allows water to puddle in the bathroom floor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The food is excellent. The service exelent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was big, private and very clean. The food is exceptional, fresh and upscale. The staff is very attentive.
Cons: If you can avoid their ‘meal plan’ (making it an all-inclusive), dining and drinks are much better when you are not on the meal plan.

6.5 Good
Pros: The food was pretty good. The staff were nice.
Cons: The inability to get reservations at a reasonable time, especially when your friends would tell you there were many empty tables.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service was extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: Dinner venues were not authentic, specially the Argentine and Brazilian restaurants
6.3 Good
Pros: Plenty to do if you like to stay busy on holiday. Service in the sports bar (only) was excellent.
Cons: Our check in experience at the “premier level” was shocking. Probably the worst customer service we’ve had in many years. Breakfast was cold every single morning. The only warm food that was available was directly from the cooking stations. Toilets near bars were very, very dirty. To the point I had to walk out of several of them (and I’m not easily grossed out!) Service at the bars was very average. Extremely disappointing considering the amount of money we paid for 8 days. Sadly, we would not go back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Facilities and the beach was super nice.
Cons: Room was smelling moisture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Friendliness of Staff - Quality of Food at the buffets - Excellent snorkeling and swimming with turtles
Cons: - A la carte restaurants - Spring breakers - way too many loud and obnoxious spring breakers here - avoid March and April!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food, pool, beach, activities are great. Rooms are clean and comfortable - had a junior ocean view suite... we were only there to shower and sleep, which was perfect. A la carte restaurants are fun to mix things up. Overall a great vacation.
Cons: The check in process in the “premium club” was torturously slow and scattered. I waited over an hour to check in (maybe 2). The woman who finally helped me never gave me keys, so I had to go back. She also told me that I didn’t need towel cards, but then the towel person wouldn’t give me towels without them so I had to go back again. At that time, she could only find three cards even though we were four ppl, so I had to go back another time to get another towel card. It was an extremely frustrating experience to have after a day of traveling and when you just want to start your vacation... premium club gets you free WiFi and reservations at any of the a la carte restaurants for any nights you want, but we never wound up using the WiFi and we only ate at the a la carte 3x during our stay which we could have gotten without the premium club. I also called months in advance to request a specific building but they could not accommodate that request at check in. Overall, very unimpressed with the premium club.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel pools were nice and the swim up bar was a nice touch.
Cons: The food wasn’t the greatest. The drinks were pretty terrible. For the price the hotel did not do an outstanding job nor was my stay what I expected. There was no information on what activities where going to be held at the hotel. I’ve stayed at cheaper hotels and have had a much better experience.
6.3 Good
Cons: Refrigerator in the room was broken.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is great, the rooms are big and confortable, good food , the staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: The beach is full of rocks and weeds, although picked up daily by the staff, appear constantly. But mostly, there was just a small part of the beach where you can swim at without that many rocks but far away from the main hotel where we were staying.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Very Uncomfortable mattress , did not like that they close the children pool all of them at 7 pm. They constantly run out of towels at the pool. The rooms we got were in Oaxaca very far from the pool, lobby, restaurants everything. Also every day the call at our room very early waking everyone.
Cons: Very Uncomfortable mattress , did not like that they close the children pool all of them at 7 pm. They constantly run out of towels at the pool. The rooms we got were in Oaxaca very far from the pool, lobby, restaurants everything. . Also every day the call at our room very early waking everyone. They don’t provide with umbrellas if it’s pouring. The stores only accept card payment no cash.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lot of variation of breakfast, very good food and people very kind, the restaurants are big so there are no issues with the spaces.
Cons: Nothing to comment.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
4.3 Okay
Pros: Food
Cons: No beach at the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We fell in love as soon as we arrived to the grand entrance. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are well decorated and spacious, the variety of restaurants and bars is amazing. The quality of food along with the presentation is spectacular. Each restaurant we dined in had its own touch of class with waiters/waitresses being very well knowledged about the dishes and what they are made of. The butler service is a great touch and our butler Luis was the perfect gentleman. All staff were polite and inviting. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our anniversary and the fact they decorated our room and gifted us a bottle of champagne to celebrate was extremely appreciated. We love TRS Yucatan!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food, services, facilities. Very impressed with overall logistics and quality of fresh fish!
Cons: A couple of times, we waited a very long time for food delivery in the restaurants. Once served, it was delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, wonderful staff, and the best treatment I have ever received at a resort. We will absolutely be going back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The TRS hotel is great for couples that need a quick getaway. We did not venture to the other kid friendly portion of the hotel, nor did we need too. This is great for a 4-5 day trip but I wouldn't stay here longer than 5 days.
Cons: The first room had some small ants moving around the sink area. Likely from a previous guest that had dropped something sweet. It was clean but obviously not to the point of being ant free clean. A quick call to the butler and 2hrs later we were in a new equivalent room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The TRS suites with a pool are nice (albeit dimly lit); the hydrotherapy is not to missed (when the machines are working); there are plenty of pools throughout the property with differing levels of noise; the gym and spa pool are clean, spacious and very nice; Helios restaurant is consistent with a beautiful view. I recommend Helios for breakfast and lunch! If you’re here to drink and party, then the hotel might work well for you because they generously dispense liquor in room and throughout property. They provided a nice cake and champagne for my friend’s bday.
Cons: Dinner Reservations were an ORDEAL. On your first night, you cannot make reservations and the hotel does nothing to anticipate that you’re arriving and might want dinner. The butler recommended going to a buffet at one of the other palladium properties. We spent more than an hour running from one restaurant to another trying to find a spot. Finally, we were seated and discovered the restaurants off TRS are not very nice and are overrun with guests. You’re told to make reservations for your subsequent nights but the hotel has a paper based system and they don’t always remember to drop off your reservation slip which then creates subsequent problems; and no reminders or calls are given in case of delays. Reservation system is antiquated and there are clearly better more efficient and less stressful ways to manage the dinner experience. We had issues with dinner reservations on 3 of our 4 nights!!! Really left a very negative impression. Also, I don’t drink alcohol and would have preferred an all-inclusive that excluded alcohol (why am I subsidizing the heavy drinkers?) I arrived at 830am - the check-in desk told me that my room was empty (no guests were checking out) yet they still couldn’t give me access until 3pm. Why? Doesn’t make any sense if the room is empty and clean. Also, I said I wanted to shower while I waited and the receptionist never bothered to mention there are showers at the main hotel and also at the gym/spa. Overall, didn’t feel like staff were effectively trained (though they were generally very friendly). Finally, it was pretty annoying being stopped by workers marketing discounted massages for a commission. It gave it the feel of a much lower class property. People don’t want to be upsold massages while lounging by pools.

Pros: Really very spacios and modern room (Junior Suite with private pool). Very delicious food. High level professional cabaret show.

Pros: Everything was a beautiful, delicious. Everyone was so friendly and so much detail to the place. The river lagoon was so much fun to play and swim. The place is big but it never felt crowded except at 9am breakfast buffet. The all inclusive fun is such an awesome feature. The cameras around the hotel and parks are so convenient, genius idea! I highly recommend this place, It doesnt disappoint. We will be back many times
Cons: There was a dress code at all the restaurant and buffets after 6. Men have to have sleeves and only brown leather sandal or closed toe shoe that wasnt well known but not a bad thing, just made for a long walk back to the room. Make dinner reservations a week out. Wish pools stayed open til 10
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff were amazing, knowledgeable and super friendly. The rooms were excellent. Large, comfortable, very modern, and so clean. The mini bar is included and stocked daily. Nice little turn down service and present on your bed every night. The food options were incredible!! The fact that 24hr room service is available and included in the price was really helpful especially when we got in late of an evening. The parks are really good fun. The busses and boat taxis were quick, cool and efficient. The excursions were fun and very interesting. Pick up was really easy and everything flowed really well making them very enjoyable. They really have thought of everything here to make your stay special. I would 100% recommend this resort and will be back in the future.
Cons: The ATM at the hotel was out of order so we were unable to get cash out however there are ATMs at the parks and you can charge everything to your room so it wasn’t a massive problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Xcaret exceeded our expectations. We went on our honeymoon, as our first time going to an all-inclusive resort we were a bit worried it would be trashy - it was anything but! The staff were incredibly attentive, all the restaurants were delicious and the trips and parks well organised and fun. It's also beautiful to walk around and an army of staff are constantly working in various ways to ensure you're looked after. We couldn't recommend this place enough!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the extras such as park access really made the stay fantastic.
Cons: Really minor but room didn’t include a map, so took us a couple of days to figure out the restaurant situation.
9.1 Excellent
Cons: Staff still learning and a bit slow . Somethings not finished yet but overall magnificent
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We would like to briefly summarize our days as follows: + the rest of the staff very friendly and helpful + good food + very nice hotel complex, much love for details + very nice rooms, modern and comfortable + very good fitness center
Cons: - - Checking took one hour, (long queue) - the second room for our children was not ready yet and had to invest another 30 minutes later - very tedious! - Hotel room price was charged 2x our credit card - Lobby employees often unfriendly or did not have time - no instructions to the hotel, have no time - China-Restaurant was unfortunately always occupied
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfection !
Cons: They wanted to make me buy the membership. Lady was an awful seller. I told her I didn’t want the membership and she kept insisting until I got really mad and had to leave. They sent Champaign to my room after....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was ridiculously amazing would come back a thousand times
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff are brilliant, they cant do enough for you. Probably one of the most enjoyable parts of holiday. Easy to get from and back to airport. They offer plenty to do during day for e.g. water parks, chichen itza excursion. Plenty of food and drink. Coffee and food carts throughout resort. Beauty and tranquility of resort amazing and although we didnt have children with us, it seemed like a great place for them with the swimming pools. Life guards were numerous in number. Great variety of restaurants. You feel safe.
Cons: There was not much signage around hotel for e.g when you first arrive and want food, its hard to get your bearings. Theres no in-house entertainment at night that we knew of, unless you went to a restaurant for beer but this is of no use to those who dont drink much. Corridors could be very noisy at night in the AM but we never highlighted this with staff, as it was enough to wake you up but was usually over after a short while.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Although I am not the biggest fan of All Inclusive hotels, I was very positively impressed by the Hotel Xcaret. The location and hotel area are very nice and offer a wide choice of pools, restaurants and entertainment options. In addition, the quality of food and beverages at the bars and restaurants is excellent. The rooms are spacious and well designed, using local touches in the decoration and offering a lot of comfort and luxury.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Heaven section of the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya is extremely impressive. The room was fantastic with a balcony and terrace with hammock. The upstairs also had a Jacuzzi bath and the partial sea view was impressive. Room service was extremely fast and the food was very tasty. Overall the food and beverage offerings in the hotel are amazing. The only thing that could be slightly better is the booking process in the A La Carte restaurants. The pool area was vibrant but relaxing at the same time and there is so much space. Overall one of the best all inclusive category hotels I have stayed in.
Cons: The inside bar areas and main lobby's of both the Hacienda and the Heaven buildings are quite cold, the AC was turned very low - recommended to have a light jacket or jumper with you in order to not be too cold if inside.

Pros: Cleanliness, spotless in every room and common area. Very relaxed laid back atmosphere. Sonia and Alberto were helpful and very interesting. Excellent breakfast, scrambled eggs perfect!
Cons: Instant coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great here at the hotel.
Cons: One should realize that this bed and breakfast is inside a gated community. I did not really like the Gated Community or the beach that was there. This is not the fault of the hotel at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and safe area. Nice room in a villa with very tasty breakfast. One of best places in Yucatan for a reasonably price.
4.3 Okay
Pros: there was a tub
Cons: this place is highly rated, alltough our experience was far from good. we stayed on the suite with a pool view. 4 people. this place would be confortable for 2 adults with a kid, there is a small room, with no AC and a tv, so perfect for a kid (if you dont mind not having privacy, since there is no door). The woman got upset when my brother told her the sheet was upside down... this place has a sensor on doors and windows, if you open them, the AC will shut down, and you have to turn on the switch and the AC remote. breakfast was minimum, no fruit, only eggs, coffe (instant) and something that was a tinny of orange juice with water. the overall expericence was very poor, probably we expect too much since is rated so high. oh and at some moment i needed it use a bathroom and it look like it was painful for them to let me use the spare bathroom next to the kitchen…. also (I just remember) you are not allowed to use the kitchen, so if you need a plate or heat up something on the microwave,,, good luck (only small frigobar shared with all guests)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms in very safe and quite area, but close to restaurants, shops and the beach. Great connection to go around for trips (also with the bus or " collectivos") . The owner are very helpful and friendly.
6.8 Good
Pros: I thought the house was very nice and the yard looks nice but due to the party next door, I couldn't even go outside and read my book in peace. I'm sure when it's quiet in the neighborhood the backyard is absolutely fabulous to just hang out by the pool. It was actually hard to try to take a nap in my room because of all the noise. my purpose of going to that place was to catch up on some well-needed rest and I left being more tired than when I got there.
Cons: There was a birthday party for kids next door which wasn't the owner's fault but definitely was not relaxing at all! The bed was very uncomfortable and I was hoping to get a comfortable bed for the night. It is located in a gated community where they keep dolphins and seals in captivity for entertainment for the guests that stay there. That was very disturbing and upsetting. I would not like to participate in a community like that again. I have Celiac so I wasn't able to eat any of the breakfast she provided except for the eggs. Was a little bummed that I couldn't have a nice enjoyable breakfast seeing that the place was a bed and breakfast. They should provide some alternatives for people who have dietary issues or ask about their dietary issues before they come stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous: Sonya and Alberto are the owners and their very beautiful villa. One must really go there to fully experience and appreciate their efforts of accommodating their guests!
Cons: My visit of two nights was way too short......especially heading back to winter conditions on the East Coast.

Pros: The owners are friendly and helpful. The shared breakfast table made it easy to interact with fellow guests which was interesting and enjoyable. There was a wider range of shops and restaurants on the site than we had anticipated.

Pros: The apartment is very specious and very well equipped. Location is prime, close to all restaurants and activities.

Alfredo was very nice, he helped us organize some tours and airport transfer. The hotel stuff was also very nice, they helped us with everything. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a big and fantastic great resort. It is managed very well. They even have an own app to download to find your way through the resort and get an idea about the service they offer. A A double-decker bus is available to transport the guest within the resort-jungle. All food you get is well prepared and a pleasure to the eye. The staff takes care about you. >12 special restaurants: good, but also here time counts and they feed you up fast to get the next guests in.
Cons: Disadvantage of the resort: everything which is not part of the package is twice as expensive as outside. That refers to cloths, wine and food The advantages tours offered are too expensive - book with external agencies- TripAdvisor is a good platform here. Major negative point: I hate to see people walking around with animals selling photos. We all no the sad stories behind the gate of the grownup animals then. And I do not understand why they have to keep Dolphins in a basin to show them to the stupid people watching this terrible show while 100 m besides the basin is the Caribbean Sea. And finally: at this price level it is a shame to charge USD 45 extra per week to get free WLAN - and even this is limited to two devices for a family.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: AmaZed by everything. I have stayed at several all inclusives and this has by far exceeded expectations. Great food choices, staff super attentive and not hungry for tips, rooms so clean, all great.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The room we reserved on booking.com does not exist in the hotel. The hotel charged us an additional 600 to get the right room. They claim it’s a Booking.com issue, booking.com claims it’s a hard rock issue. In the end, the consumer is stuck in the middle with no recourse. On top of that, when I’m trying to leave they want to charge additional hundreds of dollars because they said we had more people in the room than we reserved. (This in spite of clear email that states number of people in the room. ) by the way, the food was terrible, there is no beach, And it’s impossible to get reservations in the restaurants.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely property with many animals, beautiful views, comfy rooms, and solid food. Was always clean and well-maintained. Food service was pretty amazing, actually.
Cons: Food times/restaurant hours changed often from the printed materials. It was pretty non-intuitive to find out what was going on, as there is no digital way to interact in your room, etc.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic. Huge buffet with excellent options. The property overall is gorgeous and the beaches and pool areas are wonderful. Drinks were hit or miss. Some we absolutely loved, others were just average. Very comfortable rooms. Dinner logistics really disappointed but other than that we had a pleasant stay.
Cons: Dinner was a nightmare! Upon arrival we were encouraged to make reservations everyday but were guaranteed that, if we did not make reservations, we could go to a standby line and wait for about 15 minutes. That is not what happened! On our first night we waited for 50 minutes at Toro to get a table. At least we got a table! On our second night, we went to 7 different restaurants and got turned down by all of them! They didn’t tell us “wait for 30 or 40 or 50 minutes”. They told us “there is no room today. Find another restaurant”. The Asian restaurant at least told us to come back in 40 minutes so they could try to seat us. After said time passed, we went back only to be told there would be no seats available. And this was at almost 9pm! The funny thing was, we could see from outside that all of these restaurants were at least half empty, which really confused us as to why we couldn’t be seated. After an hour and a half walking to each restaurant to no avail (from 7:30 until 9pm!), we were hungry and frustrated so we went to the concierge and asked where the buffet was. He then told us he could make a reservation for the italian restaurant for 9:15pm. We then arrived at the restaurant to discover that even more than half the tables were empty. Service was slow and the food was unimpressive. The next day, we were at the lobby at 08:30 am to make reservations and were surprised to know that there were no restaurants available! After a long discussion we were able to make reservations for the asian restaurant for 9:45pm. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience, with conflicting information given by staff. We have stayed at other Hard Rock Hotels and have never seen such bad logistics. Hard Rock should send someone to train these people. Everyone seemed lost and we’re sad to say it put a damper on our vacation experience.
9.1 Excellent
Cons: Food was good although after a few days, it got repetitive. They should have an Indian restaurant - people would love that.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: resort & property was extremely clean & beautifull. Suite was very nice. Staff very nice & helpful.
Cons: Very confusing. Reservations were required even if restaurant empty. Buffet was good. Our biggest disappointment was the food in the restaurants! Very substandard. The french was the worst(we went straight to buffet). The next biggest disappointment was having only on choice in beer. My wife & I are not big drinkers but like a beer before dinner. She does not like XX! Also no diet or sugar free drinks. No guest guide in room. These mat seem like small things, but when spending over $500 per night, they are important enough to us to never use Iberostar again.
6.8 Good
Pros: Pool area was huge
Cons: At check in staff was rude. Staff did not seem tentative.

Pros: The staff were great ! They really take care of you and pamper you . You basically do nothing but relax . Karla at the golden pool is the best waiter ever !! Gracias Karla for taking care of me .
Cons: The room need to be updated . They are quite old
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Buffet style meals at breakfast and lunch was excellent with so much choice - be prepared to be strong willed or gain a few pounds. Every restaurant we visited in the evening was excellent - particularly enjoyed L'Alsace and Ginger. Entertainment in evenings also excellent - the 3 tenors brilliant. Would happily return here
Cons: Sometimes the service was a little slow at the pool bar or staff sometimes forgot drinks at breakfast but they are very busy and it wasn't really a problem. People reserving sun loungers and then leaving them unoccupied all day was infuriating!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is amazing and very well kept.
Cons: There is not a lot to do for night life after the shows and music are over. No games in the sports bar anymore.

Pros: There was nothing not to love about this place. First rate service and experience. There is so much attention to detail in every aspect of VIM. We loved La Hacienda for dinner. The plaza is good in the evening. Don't be afraid to ask for a shuttle to wherever you need to go. Also, try the orejas at breakfast.
Cons: I didn't like the coffee creamer used, but it's minute.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beds were fantastic, the only downfall was that a lot of the elevators weren’t,t working which meant you had to walk from building to another . We were on the top floor and this was not very convenient, when they call it a 5* resort it should behave like one. The other thing the dooor on the shower leaked.
Cons: See above The so called vouchers given at checking are really worthless. Beware of timeshare type selling

9.5 Excellent
Cons: The problem of seaweed in the beaches! The cusine suppose to have an international standard
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff, the pools, the beach. If you just want to sit on the beach all day and be waited on and don't really care about the room it might be for you.
Cons: The rooms were uncomfortable and needed updating. Sea facing rooms balconies practically facing each other so no privacy and all seem to be right overlooking the bar/restaurant (view of the ocean in our room 26 almost totally obscured by the huge roof of the bar as well). Smoking allowed on the balcony and our neighbour was smoking cigars so it wasn't nice to sit outside. Food hugely expensive. Hotel needs a bit of TLC. Captive animals really upset me. They keep a peacock in a tiny cage and put a poor stressed looking parrot out each day for people to gawk at.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful hotel and beautiful beach if there would be not the problem with the seagrass. The hotel makes everything in their power cleaning up daily this natural Desaster. It’s a pitty but the reality is different from what the hotel provides on pictures from the beach and the sea which I do not understand . I would communicate this subject transparent wit the customer. The kitchen / food is excellent but a bit to expensive. Same for wine and others .
Cons: Food was excellent . The provided cooking classes are super nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Second time there love the place
Cons: Second time there love the place nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent. Beach was fantastic. Pools were OK. Staff was fabulous. No TV's in rooms was different. Beach lounging is great. Location is great. Very quiet.
Cons: No TV in rooms. Rooms are OK, but not great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful traditional property with anazing beach, pools and gardens
Cons: Wasn’t overly keen on the food but maybe I ordered the wrong things for my taste
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Beach was excellent and not at all crowded - plenty of beach beds (free of charge). Restaurant was good although expensive (by Mexico standards - not London standards!). Very friendly beach bar open until late evening. Fitness centre well-equipped. Bedroom was very comfortable, with good air-con, plus ceiling fan; good wifi. Bathroom good as well. Hotel in a very quiet position well away from the main coast road. Close enough to Playa del Carmen and Cancun for an easy visit (but why would you? not recommended, either of them!!); 30 minutes from Cancun airport.
Cons: The only gripe was the pricing - it is expensive (but its very high quality). But also everything is priced excluding tax and service, so add 16% +15% to every price you see : room rates, bar, restaurant etc. Belmond : just include the tax and service and be done with it! otherwise, it was very enjoyable, and a hotel to which we will definitely return if we get the opportunity.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The people are super friendly and honestly want to make your experience unique. The facilities are very nice, a bit old fashion so you need to like it (I do). The weekly program keeps you busy (yoga, tennis, cooking classes, theme dinners, trips). 24 hour service. Good food.
Cons: I think prices are a bit excessive but I learned this is the case in all Riviera Maya so I am not criticizing the Hotel necessarily but the destination. The restaurant serves good food but 100 $ for a BBQ buffet dinner or a Mexican buffet dinner it is too much in my opinion. All prices have an additional 16% service and 16% tax. you feel like you are in the US! In Mexico City for ex. you pay 100$ in the best restaurant in town with Michelin stars. 240 $ for a 50 min massage (I pay less in Switzerland in the same type of hotel!) I think they could balance by offering more complementary things (more yoga / Pilates class over the day for example, or nonalcoholic cocktails by the pool). I had to organize the trip to Tulum myself because they could not find a guide for the Friday and they work with only 1 tour operator that charged double the price of what I paid. Overall it is a good hotel and I had a good time but I am not sure I would travel 14h from EU for it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: great area with oustanding attention from the staff
Cons: the restaurant prices are rocket high, no idea why, doesn't make any sense
