Pros: Nice quiet location in a residential area outside the city. Easily reached by public transport bus 614. We were warmly welcomed at reception and given an information pack and free travel card for Potsdam and Berlin area. Breakfast was fabulous and well worth the 6€ charge. Small shop at petrol station nearby and bigger supermarkets Lidl and Aldi a few minutes walk. Nice Italian restaurant with easy walking distance. Would like to have stayed longer and would definately return.

Pros: It was a very peacefull and comfortable hotel. The lady in reception is like our friend and her hospitality was wonderful. Very kind, helpful, wonderful personality. Breakfast was in one word " kings breakfast" :) I felt that I stayed in my own house. If you visit Germany, I advice you to stay in that lovely place....

Just a short walk across to the Sans Souci palace and botanical gardens and a quick bike ride down to the Hollandisches Viertel (the hotel rental bikes are in good condition) where the restaurants are excellent. Cons: We got a good deal from booking, but otherwise price was a bit high. Room was kind of dusty and old looking, with filthy stuffed furniture and flat pillows in bed. With new fresh pillows, perhaps new bedside lighting and new textiles it would all seem a lot more fresh and more 4 star. Our room was big. Install a kitchenette and rent it out as an apartment!? Terrace needed sweeping and table outside needed a happy pot plant. Just details.

The view of the Gate and square below was superb! The hotel is tastefully renovated and quite charming. There is an interesting small bar, an outdoor summer patio and outdoor seating at the front of the hotel, serviced by the next door restaurant. The breakfast had plenty of variety including some quite different quality options. The hotel is located within walking distance of Sanssouci and we spent a whole day walking the gardens and visiting the different palaces. There is a wide variety of restaurants right outside the hotel, a lovely shopping area, the Dutch quarter all nearby. My particular treat was the ice cream shop right near the hotel just in the shopping street - that lemon cheesecake ice cream was irresistible especially after a long day of walking!!

Cons: When we arrived at the room it was hot. Too hot to sleep in. The hotel is aware of this issue yet took no premptive measures to cool the room down. They could have easily kept the windows open in preparation for our arrival (we arrived late so they should have started airing the room out). In addition we were unable to park at the hotel because of an annual street party. We were unaware of this and had to pay €28 at a parking lot near by (not happy about this). I feel like we could have been informed of this prior to our arrival. Also there were 6-7 spiders on the window.

Cons: The parking at 20€ per day seemed rather expensive, but it was convenient for the two times we needed to get or take something from or to the car. The hotel-offered breakfast was fixed price at 23€ per person per day. That was outrageously expensive!! TWO of us ate very good breakfasts at two local eateries on TWO days at the cost of one hotel breakfast!

Pros: The location of the hotel and the front of house staff are really the only positive aspects of this hotel. We were met with such genuine care at both check in and out.
Cons: The staff at the Terrace Bar were dreadful, really didn't seem to want to be working and the front of house staff had to chase them to get them to take our drink order. The noise from the nightclub until 5am was so loud that no soundproofing would be effective, perhaps the hotel should charge less for these rooms or providing decent ear plugs, we hardly got any sleep. The air conditioning in the room was non existent and with a room facing the sun on a 31 degree day it felt like an oven. The bathroom was so small it was ridiculous. The parking at 18 Euro per night is daylight robbery especially since there is no elevator access to the hotel and you have to walk your bags up to the hotel entrance. All in all we felt that for the price we paid we just didn't get any value for money.

Cons: The hotel was in renovation. There was only one lift available for the workers, for the staff and for the guests. The stairs were blocked so you had to wait a lot to enter or leave. During the day you could not rest because of the noise. Also I was happy to spend some time in the sauna and spa... it was not available because of the renovation works... There was an empty fridge in the room. So if you want to have a drink in your room you have to go to the reception and ask for it... but there is only one lift ....

I think I had this .genius discount which they forgot about. And as everywhere in the Germany, it is hard to expect to find much vegan stuff for breakfast. I just hope that they would add some vegan options like soy jogurt or plant milk.

Very shabby and a bit dirty; cobwebs and dirty / worn paintwork on doors and walls etc. Not much choice for breakfast unless down before 8 am. Can be noisy, depending on room; ours above restaurant and outside drinking area. Some outside noisy events. Have a lasting impression that we were well overcharged for this 3 night stay.
