There was nothing to like about this hotel.
The service was terrible. Lady was full of attitude. Rooms and main lobby were not clean. Overpriced and in rough neighbourhood.
Location was helpful for our needs. Has fun character.
Very dated. Kinda seedy and creepy.
Very clean and very vintage. Staff were friendly and the room over looked the mill and water. Very quiet and relaxing. Rustic through and through, they are doing a great job bringing this historic building back to its former glory.
The room was clean.
I booked the room for my daughter and her two girls who came from Ireland to see me. There was no breakfast. It was canceled for the season. Possibly because a new restaurant coming in but no notice was given that there wouldn't be anything available. No room cleaning, cups changed or cleaned, coffee supplied for 2 days only. There was a prostitute in the room across the hall, and my granddaughters are young! Only one staff member around and he spent most of his time in the liquor store. Music from the pub was loud. The pub seemed to be the only thing actually functioning. A smoke alarm on the upper employee's only floor was going the whole time, even though the staff was told about it, frequently. My daughter and her girls were complaining about bug bites of some type but couldn't find out what. I was with them everywhere else and I got no bites so there must have been something else in that building that was biting them. I was totally devastated that I booked at this historic site for my family and the photos on the website were not what was there. The building is in need of restoration. I will never book or recommend The Rodmay to anyone and will tell anyone who asks the truth about this place. Oh, and one leg was missing from one of the beds so my husband had to put blocks under it so the girls could sleep without the bed moving every time they moved! No elevator, hotel not accessible to anyone with a disability.
No AC. Cheap electric fan didnt work. Bed was very uncomfortable. No locks on the window, security was a wooden dowel that stopped the window from opening fully. No restaurant on site and everything was closed by 9 except the onsite liquor store. No secure parking. Emailed weeks in advance asking about parking and no reply.
With a stay at Rodmay Heritage Hotel in Powell River, you'll be on the waterfront, just steps from Townsite Brewing and a 4-minute drive from Powell River Putters Mini Golf. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
