10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is just amazing. You will never find breakfast so good anywhere else. Host Timurs hospitaly is next level. Location is super! everything important is walking distance, so no need to hussle with Taxi drivers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great owner and breakfast. Awesome location. We could walk to all the major attractions.
Cons: Everything was excellent and we really enjoyed our time. The only thing I would like to highlight is we booked a triple room, but the additional bed we had for our daughter was a fold-out bed. It was fine for her but for an adult it would not have been that comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine ; room Like fairytale , breakfast for princess ! Family guesthouse with warm and friendly people . I would come back there ; best accommodation experience in Uzbekistan
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is amazing, more than we could eat. The family that runs it were very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful brand new, spacious rooms, very comfy bed and wonderful bathroom. Wifi works great, aircon is spot on, free drinking water and the breakfast in the courtyard was splendid! The location is great for an easy quick walk to the Registan etc. The family that run the guesthouse are wonderful! They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, they are very kind and thoughtful, they even booked a taxi for us to the train station, which had a meter, meaning we didn't get ripped off and paid the actual rate (1600som, unlike our taxi on the way to the guesthouse..). So far this was the best place we have stayed in Uzbekistan, highly recommend!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was new, very spacious and warm! It was winter and not all accomodation in Uzbekistan is well heated. Owner Timur was very pleasant.
Cons: Breakfast was ok but less spectacular than many Uzbek hotels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice well located and safe place. Big breakfast. Timur the owner is super helpful. He arranged me the smoothest possible taxi ride to Tasjkent. One remark: there are two types of rooms, old style and modern. Would stay here again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely great place with fantastic, humble and helpful owner. The rooms are much better than the ones currently displayed on google maps as the guesthouse was recently renovated. Cheap laundry, nice breakfast and the best location you can imagine: within a few minutes from Ragistan
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and helpful hotel service. Tea for welcome. A large comfortable room. Very close to the old city. Delicious breakfast. Thank you again. Beata & Leo

Jahongir Guest House - Samarkand - Bedroom
2
9.1 Excellent (701 reviews)
C$ 47+
Overview Reviews
A 5-minute walk from Samarkand city centre, the Jahongir B&B offers free parking and traditional Uzbek cuisine. It has a pretty garden with flowers and a terrace. Guests stay in colourful, air-conditioned rooms at the Jahongir. Each room has traditional wall decorations, and a private bathroom with shower. City tours can also be booked at the 24-hour reception. The historic Registan Square is just a 5-mintue walk from the family-run Jahongir.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The 4 bed room was very convenient for our family of four. We would recommend it.
Cons: The access to the hotel was blocked due to a music festival which made it difficult to get to - this of course was not the hotels fault.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's very close to the Registan, and you can walk to all the main sights in Samarkand. They gave us a room with four single beds even though there were only three of us, so we had plenty of space. The breakfast was the best of our whole trip. There is lots of communal space to just hang around, which we took advantage of one evening while waiting to catch an overnight train. They also have a travel agency which can organise excursions in and around Samarkand.
Cons: There aren't many restaurants nearby, and we usually had to take a taxi to the new part of town to find somewhere to eat.
7.9 Good
Pros: Just a few minutes walk from the Registan Square
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are clean, location is very centred, People speak good englisch and are super helpful. Feels like home. Break fast is rich as well. Very good choice!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was right next to the Gaur e-Amir mausoleum, which was fantastic. It was a further walk from the Registan and Siob Bazaar, but the walk was doable. Its location right next to a major landmark was convenient for navigating to and from the hostel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We felt very welcome at Dilshoda which is as much a home stay as a hotel and a comfortable place to spend time when not exploring the city. Excellent location, with taxis just a few steps away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Family oriented place, everyone is very helpful, amazing breakfast, they will help in arranging guides or booking restaurant. Superb location.
Cons: Everything was fine really
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and lovely staff. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was excellent and the rooms were big.
Cons: The breakfast was rated as fabulous and it turned out to be a great disappointment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a great stay at Dilshoda. The staff were all very friendly and kind (it is family operated). It is located a few steps away from Gur Emir, and it is beautiful in the evening there. All of the main attractions of Samarkand are in a line, so Dilshoda is at one end of the line. Shakhi Zinda (the necropolis) is at the other end of the line. I'm not sure how long it would take to walk directly from one end to the other (since you make quite a few stops along the way), but I would estimate something like an hour if you were to go without making any stops. The room is comfortable with very strong AC (for those hot summer days!). Breakfast is also quite nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family were so unbelievably helpful and friendly, they couldn't have done more for us. Breakfast was really good. Location in town is perfect. Our room was a decent size and beds firm and comfy. Really happy with our choice.
Cons: We stayed in room 4 overlooking the courtyard and therefore where people have breakfast - other guests were up and eating breakfast from about 7.30 which would be quite loud if you wanted to sleep in. That being said the room was super quiet at night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Position is very close to Tamerlane's mausoleum. Courtesy of staff. They can organise your guided tour of Samarkand and your transfer to the next city.
Cons: Poor breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff super available, clean, cozy and good value for money.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved but quality is good
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location wasn’t bad.
Cons: Calling it a hotel is an overstretch, more like an old B&B where you feel you’ve intruded on the resident family space. The warm hospitality found in other Uzbekistan cities is certainly lacking. The rooms are sad, the floor slopes on such an angle that the blood rushes to your head when you lay down on the bed. It Operates as cafe for non guest patrons.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located centrally in Tashkent with a lot of eateries nearby. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast . No doubt it is really value for money .
Cons: Bathrooms need renovations. A glass stand placed under the TV to hold set top box is dangerously positioned.

Pros: It was quiet and comfortable

7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel staff was in general willing to help with all sorts of questions and requests . We got a room for early arrival and we could depart late with no charge . Hotel has it’s own courtyard good place for beer or cup of tea / coffee. Relatively new modern facility , big rooms , quite place . Hotelnhas it’s own bar
Cons: I had AC broken in my room and making tremendous noise , All 3 of us had discount at booking , but hotel tried to charge us full rate roughly 10 to 15 $ more per night per person - so kee yoyr reservation printed ! There is a free pick up from train station or airport - but the car arrived 20 min after we arrived by train ..., an not use international credit cards , our rooms were not the ones we booked and we basically fit 3 keys and option to play card s who goes to which room .. This was not good . No pool or sauna or jacuzzi or massage
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived 5am at Samarkand Airport and the hotel was supposed to arrange our pick up, but something went wrong so we had to take a taxi. Upon arrival the receptionist apologized and offered us an excellent free breakfast and free early check in at 7am to compensate for the inconvenience. 2 days later we got a free transfer to the Railway Station! Would come back anytime again :-)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful. The location is nice but a bit far from the main attractions. The room was nice. They greeted us with plates of nuts and a welcome drink which was nice and they arranged free transportation to the train station and managed a taxi to Imam Bukhari site.
Cons: Nothing really except that during our stay there some ongoing work in the hotel which was very disturbing but when I complained they offered to move me to another room temporarily until the workers finish. They can put some carpets in the room.

Cons: A little far out of the way from the main attractions. Still decently walkable.

Cons: nothing at all. perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great fresh rooms and wonderful topchans for sitting in their front yard.
Cons: The credit card terminal was not available despite the confirmation during the booking, so we had to pay in cash instead.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: strong air-conditioning was welcome during the hot summer days! good location by Gur e Amir, and walking distance from other sites and restaurants. they arranged a pick-up for me at the train station & I used the same driver for other transport needs during my stay
Cons: sound travels through the property, so it's easy to hear others in adjacent rooms and the courtyard
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful, friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent location.
Cons: The internet passwords were a bit complicated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location behind the Gur-Emir-Mausoleum is just great, also the Registan can be reached by foot. Staff was very helpful and we could even leave parts of our baggage while trekking in Tajikistan for 4 days. Breakfast in the cozy courtyard was very rich and tasty - great atmosphere to relax before all the sights in Samarkand!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location. It is literalky rright behind gur-i-emir and just 1 km walk from Registhan. The breakfast was amazing too.
Cons: The washrooms werent cleaned regularly. The dustbins weren't emptied. The toilet seat was also broken.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location next to Gur e Amir and had a pleasant courtyard.
Cons: Wifi hardly worked and AC cut out at points.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice terrace, friendly staff, good breakfast and very central location. A big minus was that the 6-bed-dormitory I stayed in had no windows
7.5 Good
Pros: The hostel is very pretty, in a lovely old building. The rooms and bathrooms were nice and I enjoyed the breakfast, they served coffee. There is also a little roof terrace and the Gur e Amir mausoleum is right next door.
Cons: When I first arrived, the hostel lost half of my booking and weren't very apologetic about it, they wouldn't agree to find me alternative accommodation for the nights they lost. It was eventually resolved after a lot of unnecessary stress and hassle. Some of the staff are lovely and friendly and know what they are doing but others do not. Also their records seem to be kept on paper so all administration is very slow. They wanted to keep my passport on an open shelf in an unlocked office for my entire stay but when I paid up front they agreed not to.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Apart from minor mishaps, the staff helped us with currency exchange...
Cons: Toilet flush and AC wasn't working and despite repeated request they didn't fix it.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and prime location. Great breakfast! Amazing roof top terrace.
Cons: We had two rooms and one had a Soviet air-conditioning which was very noisy. The room had only one plug and everything including AC was attached to it. The root plug was very hot...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic helpful staff, lovely view over the city at breakfast.
Cons: There was an 2330 curfew that was not advertised.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was good. But if I were to return to Samarkand I'd choose a hotel on the other side of Registan, closer to the Amir Khan Mausoleum where eateries/night life abound(s). Hotel accepts visa, yet you need to convince the owner.
Cons: In its heyday, this hotel would have been something special with its location, interior design and terrace but now it feels more run-down and the owner doesn't seem to mind it. Despite all the great views, the breakfast served on the rooftop terrace is bland. They also have a weird rule of having (6) guests seated in row around one table rather than letting them pick any table they want (it's a big terrace with many tables). Room was slanted.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcoming and the breakfast packet at 4am (the boss woke up by himself to call a taxi for us!) Incredibly beautiful courtyard
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was served on the rooftop. It was a huge Turkish-style breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom could have been cleaner.
7.5 Good
Pros: The leafy surrounds. Offers privacy and seclusion for upper rooms. The waiting rooms below in the style of long ago. The host is very generous with fruit and tea in these rooms. They are given free of charge.
Cons: Plumbing in the bathroom is a little unpredictable. Pipe spouts water into the basin when switching over to shower. Awful smell in the bathroom.
6.7 Good
Pros: Perfect location. Breakfast is fair.
Cons: I booked 4 rooms, and a room in roof top has no wifi signal. In the morning, We told the owner that we need 2 taxi to train station for afternoon. When we came back, the owner was not there, and we asked her wife about the the taxi and passport (as they needed to register), then her wife just called the taxi for us. During the time for waiting the taxi, her wife didn't give us the passports and we thought the passports were not there (as she can't speak english and just told me to wait). But we had waited more than 30 minutes until only 1 taxi came and her wife just gave us back the passport. We had to catch one more taxi outside the main street as we almost missed the train.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very good and the host very nice and kind. Very good location.
Cons: Our room had no windows and the bathroom and the AC were very-very old, but clean.

Pros: English speaking staff. Good location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I really liked this hotel. The location was great and it had a nice family-owned vibe. The room was large and the pool was nice to escape the midday heat. The breakfast waiter was very attentive.
Cons: Two things that really annoyed us were that they offered to book us train tickets on the first day, but told us that there were only 3 tickets left on the train we wanted and only business-class. When we went to the ticket office in town we found out that the tickets were much cheaper than the hotel was going to charge us and that there were also cheaper economy seats. On the last day we asked them to call us a taxi. They said they could do this but instead spent 20 min getting keys and rearranging their cars so that they could drive us ourselves. We started getting stressed about being late (I ended up not having time to get some food at the station before getting on the train) for the train and also, they charged us 4 times what the rate to the train station should be. I think it's disingenuous to try to get extra money out of guests in these ways.
7.9 Good
Pros: I liked its location most. Because it takes just only few minuttes walk to both Guri Amir and Registan.
Cons: Facilities in the room like water cooker, table lamp, etc, were not available in the room. They change wifi password every day which creats unnecessary problems/headache. There was electricity breakdown on the very first evening i checked in the hotel, and the temprature was over 44 C.

Cons: The location for visiting Samarakand could not be better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great! There was a small mix up with room size/space but all sorted. As the other reviews said, Bekzhod was lovely, charming and very helpful. Full marks to him for providing a super service. He knew we are seasoned travellers so made sure there was no over selling or hiking up prices because most sales people in Bukhara and Samarkand will try anything to fleece a tourist! Please fellow tourists stay on guard and DIY- book your train tickets yourself, hail a cab or use an app and haggle and haggle some more - you’ll be quids in. Obviously you can offer tips as and when you like but there’s something very painful about being taken for a ride and having to constantly watch out for it while on holiday!
Cons: It’s not at all dirty or dusty as other reviewers have described (Cleaners were at it all morning - dusting, vacuuming etc) and our bathroom was great too. My kids (9 and 11) loved the pool and we all thought the breakfast was fine too.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Nothing

6.7 Good
Pros: Staff is friendly and there are various nice restaurants close to the hotel. The room are spacious but ours had no view and the old air-condition system was very noisy.
Cons: Noisy air-cond. system. No view. The pool is very small. The breakfast was quite disappointing. Overall the price was too high for the service offered.
7.9 Good
Pros: Really helpful front desk staff- able to recommend excellent restaurants close by and provide guidance to the city. Good buffet breakfast - coffee could be better but this is the same throughout Uzbekistan - although you can pay a small amount for an expresso. Sometimes takes reasonably sized groups - but if you breakfast a little later you can avoid them.
Cons: The coffee could have been better - but it is a bit of an obsession for me!
7.1 Good
Cons: The hotel is a little far from the major sites.

6.3 Good
Pros: City center, you can find a exchange office inside the hotel with a good rate. Swimming pool.
Cons: uncomfortable bed. No kettle in the room. low service quality.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel just close to one of the main bulevads is definitely the pro of it, staff is nice and speak English.
Cons: they should change the number of the star... is definitely not a 4 star hotel, need also a bit of refurbishment expecially for the flooring and the vertical surface.
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked how helpful the stuff was.
Cons: Initially, I was given the single room which was in bad condition: the bed mattress was bad and gave me back pain + I couldn't close the door to the balcony. This room was facing the roadside so all through the night I could hear cars passing by, sometimes honking. I asked to change the room and give me something that would face the pool as the hotel was quite empty. I was given a new room next day BUT it was again facing the same side. This time though the room was better (at least the bed wasn't falling apart and it had a fridge), but still street noise was an issue. If you are light sleeper then I wouldn't recommend the room on the street side. Laundry and restaurant in the hotel: extremely overpriced. Nowhere in Uzbekistan I've been charged 15k sums for (just) washing one item.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: It's on a busy street and the sound of the traffic kept me up all night. I had to find another hotel as soon as I could.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. Very helpful and attentive to our needs staff members, always available to help.
Cons: Could not pay with Credit card for stay at the hotel. All ATM in the town were down. Non of the shops or restaurants accept foreign credit cards, only Uzbec cards
4.2 Okay
Pros: Normal
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Hotel didn’t have any thing working no swimming pool no aircon and also this hotel is not a four star

Pros: Good location, shops and cafes around.
