Located in Carmel Valley, near Del Mar and La Jolla, the hotel is inland and a 15-minute drive to the beach. Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, known for beautiful canyons, waterfalls, and tons of natural beauty is a 20-minute drive. A luxurious car provided by the resort will take guests anywhere within a 14-mile radius, including Torrey Pines State Beach, Torrey Pines State Park, Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, Del Mar, and some parts of La Jolla.

Accommodations are large and stately, featuring balconies, pillow-top beds, a stocked minibar, and a 40-inch TV. Room types vary based on what traveler’s desire. Guestrooms are 550 square feet and offer views of the pool or golf course, while the Prado Suite and Veranda Suite are 1,110 square feet and feature luxuries such as two bathrooms and some with fireplaces and kitchenettes. The Palazzo Suite, Mizner Suite, Manchester Suite, and Brisa Villa all feature amazing in-room amenities and tons of space.

Aside from the free shuttle and luxurious house car that take guests to surrounding attractions, the resort also offers plenty of fun on-site. Four heated pools with a poolside bar and underwater music, an 18-hole golf course, 24-hour fitness center, business center, two tennis courts, a top-notch spa, and Equestrian Center are all available to guests. There are a variety of dining options on-site, including one of the top restaurants in California, Addison. Club M on-site offers a restaurant, nightclub, and sports bar.

Although the decor is undeniably romantic throughout the hotel, there's plenty for families to do. The hotel features a teen center, a kid’s club, and many other family-accommodating services and amenities.
