Up front pricing options for required mexican insurance available on website. Low rate was not really as low as it seemed even with the lowest available insurance option.

Terrible customer service. Long wait. They charged me the entire price of the rental just for 5 liters of gas when the tank was already full. They are running a scam here. Also tried to charge me for a broken trunk lock when there was photo evidence it was broken before renting.

Total bs with the insurance. Called ahead and tried to get clarification both in America and Mexico. Nothing honest or transparent about any of it. Instead you get to the desk to be scammed by the agent. Then general (mandatory) insurance was $2000 on a $500 rental. I told em to keep it and thankfully was able to rent from a different company for $700 including insurance. My two cents: if insurance is mandatory, then include it in the costs posted to your website. Give us the information to make a good decision

Total con job. Booked the car, went to pick up, told them I was fine with my insurance coverage as I have an elite credit card. All of a sudden, no car and they told me they would get it to my hotel. I called back later, and the reservation was cancelled. We then had no car for our trip. If you don't buy their insurance products you don't get a car. why not be up front about it instead of ruining people's trips. Thank you for nothing Kayak and Hertz. You should not support this business. I know I will never use your services again.

Cons:

I’ve rented vehicles in Mexico many times however Huatulco Airport has a racket going. It is a fairly isolated airport so it is fairly difficult that obtain other options besides car rental or taxi. We had a reservation with hertz for 5 days for approximately $230. I realize they always try to add insurance on and expect a little more expensive however they tried to charge me $761. He told me it was bc I was 1 hour early and the other rental agency’s didn’t have cars right them either. We went to the other ones as well but the charges were nearly the same. There were several angry customers walking around as well and two would say out load to not use them as they were trying to scam them too. Needless to say we got a taxi instead.

They did not respect my rental confirmation, they said they were aware of my reservation but had no cars, I saw this happen to the next person in line as well, pretty terrible as we were forced to find a car with other company at the moment

The sales guys could have not tried to rip us off, and when we told them we didn’t need insurance they could have just treated the car. Instead told us they could do a deal if we paid some in cash.

Price was not as advertised. Cost was $218, not $81 as indicated during reservation. Car rental staffed by ex-pat looking to sell tourist tours and hotel membership.
