Everything about the facility is up to standard
The hotel has a very professional staff and processes, offering all support for a very pleasant stay. The Hotel is also very well located, in front of a beautiful beach. It was very relaxing staying there. The restaurant was also very good and the swimming pool clean and well maintained.
The bathroom could be better - renovated - although it wasn't bad for this part of Africa. Renting fast internet and obtaining credit for air conditioning was a bit strange but understandable in a part of the world where electricity is very expensive.
We were so impressed with the management and staff.. they were helpful, friendly and went out of their way to please. A very spacious villa.. fabulous for a family with the option of self catering or eating in the restaurant..which we liked. Surrounded by attractive grounds and with the beach just by the pool. There was games.. football , volleyball etc..if you wanted to join in. The food was very good..perhaps breakfast could have been a bit more comprehensive..definitely have an African massage..brilliant and amazing value. Wi fi not great.. which I thought was a bonus ! There are very good restaurants near this hotel. I recommend the scala.
The cooked breakfast was not great.. our breakfast at home is better! The town is interesting..lovely people.. but I wish there wasn’t so much litter around. I suppose it is due to lack of infrastructure in Gambia.
The staff was friendly, especially the guys from the restaurant and the security. I really wish that I could give a better rating for them, but I didn't like too many things. I wouldn't go back to this resort.
This is rather a 2-star resort. They don't provide shampoo and shower gel, which is a bad joke in my opinion for a 4-star resort. There was no complimentary water in my room, no house keeping and the rooms are old. I also didn't like the fact that you cannot use your credit card for amounts less than £100. I had no more cash but an open bill from the restaurant and had to pay £10 extra for paying by credit card.
The Gambians are very friendly and interesting people. It is aptly called the smiling coast. The grounds of the hotel were spacious and peaceful with beautiful exotic birds and fun watching the monkeys in the morning. Fantastic sunsets over the sea. Often had the swimming pool to ourselves - good sun loungers. Well looked after on the beach with sunbeds moved for us so readily and towels provided.
View from windows would have improved even more with an extra clean.
