Siem Reap Hotels in Wat Polanka Area

Pros: The room is very nice. The value of the stay is also good. The owner and staff were very friendly. The room and hotel design are simple but stylish.

Cons: We booked a one day driver through the hotel. On the way back we requested him to drop us off at the museum, and he insists we buy the museum ticket NOT from the museum, but from a ticket agency he worked with. He kept on telling us if we go to the museum to buy a ticket, there will be the line. Since the price is the same, we should just buy the ticket from the agency he drove us to, without our consent. The museum is almost closing and we were really just telling him to hurry up and take us to the museum, but he drove us to the ticket agency anyway and force us to buy tickets there. We had to hop off the car and go to the agency. After the agency says they cannot accept credit card, the driver had no option but to drive us to the museum and have us to buy the ticket directly from the museum. He had wasted half an hour of our time, which results in us not having enough time to finish visiting the museum. We know that he takes a cut when we buy from the agency. The driver then keeps on recommending other places to go where he can take a cut (like a massage bar etc). It was very annoying and unpleasant to go with such a driver who does not respect people's time but only want to make an extra few bucks here and there. I hope the hotel can no longer hire this driver in the future.

Pros: The lush plants and central swimming pool as well as laundry.

Pros: What a lovely gem. The staff is so kind and every detail has been thoroughly thought through. A beautiful, quiet spot. I would definitely recommend.

Pros: I got charged 85$ for a day trip 3x the amount quoted avoid avoid avoid.

Pros: Very attentive staff, very good breakfast, cosy atmosphere, good taste in design and spacious rooms. The hotel has tuk tuk drivers to take you to the different temples which I believe is worth it.

Cons: The proximity to the river, Siem Reap has a mosquito problem but this increases it. In the bedrooms it's ok though.

Pros: Beautiful decor. Delicious food. Perfect customer service. Comfortbale rooms. Very clean. Friendly and professional staff.

Pros: The owner Jonathan and his staff were extremely warm and attentive throughout our stay. Location was the right amount of central, yet out of the crazy. Beautifully designed property as well.

Cons: The light on our floor was often off. Which when going up a spiral staircase to the floor it doesn’t bode well. However, this just made some comical moments for our stay.

Pros: I stayed 3 nights and felt really at home in this small boutique hotel. The owner and staff are very kind and helpful. The room are simple and comfortable. The restaurant serves very good food too and breakfasts were good. The pool is small but the water is clean and has a good mix of shade and sun.

Pros: The staff were so very helpful. They were always smiling. Cocktails and food was delicious also.

Pros: We had two room types - bungalow suite and suite with a pool. Both were lovely and spacious, well appointed. Small hotel so you never feel over run by too many guests. Breakfast is fantastic and cooked to order. Staff are fantastic. It’s an oasis outside of the town center but close enough to be in the middle of it all in five minutes (2$) in a tuk tuk or if you’re brave enough in the heat you could walk it. Loved our stay.

Cons: Actually a positive comment... Things don’t always go as you expect in Cambodia but at this hotel don’t be afraid to ask because whatever issue you encounter the staff will always take care of you and resolve it.

Pros: The hotel and setting was amazing and went beyond my expectations. The room and hotel were all immaculate and well furnished with the pool, bar and breakfast all fantastic. The staff were all extremely friendly and could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable and went as far as to book restaurants and tuk tuks for us during our stay. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for anyone visiting Siem Reap. Thank you!

Pros: We felt so very welcome from the time we arrived til the time we left. The hospitality felt very personalized and accommodating. There is a restaurant on location that is just stunning in decor and food was exceptional with a mix of western and eastern cuisine. We enjoyed our 20 minute complimentary massages which we loved so much we booked for another 90! The location was convenient to get around to our places of interest and easy to book a guide for your excursions. While our stay was short and sweet, our experience was one to remember. Would definitely look forward to staying here again.

Pros: All staff of the hotel was very friendly and attentive. Namely, Sopheak, who welcomed us and was our personal assistant during our stay. He helped us with everything and made sure all our needs were met. Another highlight of our stay was the food in the restaurant. It was delicious as it could be and fairly priced.

Cons: Nothing, it was definitely one of our best hotel experiences!

Pros: This was a perfect stay and just what I looked for! The staff in particular could not do enough to ensure that your staff was pleasant, from service with a smile, holding umbrellas to even arranging for my suitcase to be repaired after the airlines roughly handled. I stayed in a Suite with private pool which was incredible, although personally I would have liked a bit warmer pool water, but this is really a matter of personal taste. My only little niggle was my confusion as to where all the light switches were to turn off the numerous lamps. The spa is to die for, my facial better than the one I get at home. Lovely stay and I highly recommend it.

Pros: The staff were excellent, they went out of their way to accommodate us. The pool was nice to have too. Comfy beds and decent WiFi. Limited breakfast options, with some confusion around what you could eat. Eg if you got eggs, you couldn't also have fruit. The complimentary massage is fantastic, I recommend the Khmer massage. I loved it so much I got TWO in the three nights I was there.

Cons: The bathroom was rather dated, whether intentional or not, I'm not sure. The shower pressure was weak. I got absolutely devoured by mosquitoes. Could just be Cambodia overall, rather than SiZen, but I have about 20 angry bruised bites. Perhaps netting or some form of repellant could be provided. The stuff I brought was completely ineffectual.

Pros: We enjoyed the ambiance of the resort and they gave us our room early instead of waiting for 2 pm. The free pick-up and free massage is also a plus with complete toiletries. The room is very spacious and we had a good night sleep.

Pros: The room was spacious and well equipped! Everything from a hairdryer to an electric kettle was provided. The staff are friendly and spoke good English. I enjoyed the pool and the gardens well looked after and beautifully kept.

Cons: The only think that needed improving is better lighting in the room. It was quite dark.

Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cons: The bathroom floor had several long hairs on the floor, the smaller bed had a lot of small pieces of something on the sheets which didn’t bother me because I didn’t use that bed, the shampoo and body wash seemed very watered down, and the extra loud music that made my room sound like the inside of a club that started from 4-5am and lasted the whole day.

Pros: The pool was great, the beers at the bar cold, the design of the hotel makes you feel like you're in a jungle. The staff is very friendly, and you get a free massage with your stay.

Cons: There were a lot of mosquitoes - but they spray the grounds (happened when we were there) and it's to be expected to be honest. Just something to consider. Some distance away from the pub street.

Pros: This place is an oasis in the often chaotic environment of the town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel makes you feel like you are really in Cambodia a huge contrast Many of the modern recently built hotels. The breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit delicious bread‘s and omelettes. After a day out visiting the temple sites returning to this relaxing environment was a true pleasure. My room was on the second floor with a small balcony overlooking the pool. There are many tropical plants and Birds That create a truly unique environment. It is quiet and at times you could hear chanting from the nearby pagoda. Absolutely lovely place, highly recommend

Cons: I had hoped to be able to walk in to the center of town from this location but found it often too hot to do so and a bit farther then I imagined. However transportation is readily available from the hotel drivers. And It turns out to be a big advantage to be farther away from the intense activity of the center of town.

Pros: A first class experience. We stayed for a few nights over new year. The staff made us feel very welcome and totally looked after us. We had three little girls who loved it. Really would have liked to stay longer. But hope to come back on our next trip. You really need 5 to 7 days to see it all.

Pros: Lovely place to stay. The staff are very friendly and sweet with kids. The big garden makes for a nice quite spot in the middle of the city. The owner is full of great tips about Angkor and Siem Reap.

Cons: I would encourage the hotel to reduce use of plastic. (Currently, the only way for guests to get drinking water is by buying plastic bottles.)

Pros: I liked the green, leafy atmosphere and the pool.

Cons: Breakfast was about the worst I've had in the 21st century. The rooms are not very well equipped. I had to ask for drinking water and also for a kettle - I was given both - but why should guests have to ask?

Pros: The location is excellent, only a short (and cheap) Tuk Tuk ride to almost anywhere you’d wish to visit.

Cons: The food and drink choices are poor- just two food options available on the food menu and a similarly limited drinks offer. It’s low season, so there are few guests and perhaps not unreasonable to have a smaller menu, but that should be reflected in the price.

Pros: The staff was always very pleasant and extremely helpful in arranging for activities and transportation. The setting was an oasis except for sporadic motorcycle sounds from the street. Beautiful garden setting with a wonderful swimming pool. All the neighbors were respecting each other privacy. Great location!

Cons: The room was spacious enough but could benefit from more storage space or at least a few hooks to hang clothing and things...

Pros: Mysteres d'Angkor is an exceptional small hotel. The owner and staff are gracious, engaged and we thought swift to respond to any of our requests and questions. Their choices of excursions were well considered. The hotel is a beautiful property, designed and built in traditional style, but with modern amenities, including a pool and massage pavilion, which we used nearly every day! This will be our hotel of choice in Siem Reap.

Pros: Everything. It's like a quiet oasis. Lovely staff, good food, a nice garden.
