It has all the facilities to provide the businessmen efficient way to stay in Tallinn and to relax after the tense meetings. We wanted to late our check our for 1 hour, and the hotel didn't agreed without additional payment
-Modern design for the new part of the hotel. -Different F&B offers. -Spa. -The beds in the old part of the hotel
Closeness to the Old Town.
location, friendly staff, very good breakfast. old city wall line starts in front of the hotel, you need just cross the street and independence square. old hotel...not more than 3 star hotel.
Fantastic hotel with amazing staff (special thank you to Olga at the reception), very rich breakfast. Location, design and prices - everything is just plain amazing. The booking says that the registration is open till 8pm, but in reality the reception is open 24/7.
Smell in the room.
Decent price Not in the heart of everything
The hotel is located near Old Town. Old room and tobacco smell.
we got upgraded for some reason to a suite. Staff very friendly And spoke excellent English. Wonderful breakfast and excellent restaurant. Great location. Would go again. There is a very late night night club across the street and there was street noise all night but only a problem if you left your windows open. We slept fine.
Nice hotel for old people. For their 2nd spring. Location best. place for good sleep. stayed 4 days. I am 40 i think i am the youngest guest.During breakfast, the ladies who serve were also so old. I was thinhking to serve them:). There is no elevator to 6th floor. The elevator is done later i think for guest. Definetly not for business. So silent so slow. teras closes at 10 pm.
Outstanding staff. Old world atmosphere and dining room decor. Buffet breakfast and Russian restaurant menu excellent. Hotel has no elevator and that should be mentioned on the web site. Although it must be added that the staff were more than willing to assist with our luggage and needs. During this last hot period, the air conditioning did not cope even though an extra fan was provided. The room was not as shown on the web site.
The nice atmosphere in general, especially the restaurant and lobby. The location. Yes. The very strong smell of smoke (cigarrettes) in the room, which didn´t disappear during the whole stay.
Simply perfect. Spacious well equipped room; very high quality of construction, natural wood and stone. Feel really 21st century comfort in the middle of the authentic Tallinn. Unbelievable silence for the location across the street from the city centre. One of the best destinations in Tallinn.
Good clean, simple hotel not too far away from the old city. There was a charge for the sauna/spa that was not mentioned on booking.com or the hotel website. Extra costs should always be transparent at time of booking. To make matters worse, the sauna/spa had to be booked and all slots were already taken when we arrived. So the spa element of our holiday never materialised, which was a big let-down.
Excellent central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and dinner included in the price. Some late night night noise from bar across the road but not a problem.
Excellent central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and dinner included in the price. very noisy during whole night
The Merchant House is in the middle of it all - a very convenient place to stay when touring Old Town.
Nice location. Couryard sviit was very big, excotic and different than normal hotel rooms. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Good breakfast None
Location It was very cold
Staff is young, very pleasant and very attentive. We really enjoyed our stay.
location horrible breakfast - nothing natural, even the bread in a bread country was semi-baked - and fruit??? Straight from the can - why not use berries or pears, apples, fruit of the season?
Location and style
Excellent location in old town tallinn, with lots of great restaurants, bars, and sight-seeing nearby. Pretty nice accommodations inside the room, with new paint, a hot shower, minibar with fridge space for a few things of your own, etc. Staff is super helpful, and was great to call a cab for me, print boarding passes, etc. For our room, we swiped our cards and entered at ground level but the actual room was up some private stairs on the next level, meaning we had no choice but to carry all our luggage up a pretty narrow and steep flight of stairs; no elevator. We had a queen bed, and is the case in many low-cost european hotels, this is really two twin beds stuck together with a bridging pad. Not a huge issue, but it is not as comfortable as the real deal. Worse was the fact that the comforter was also two very small comforters rather than a single large blanket, which made the blanket wars particularly fierce. The rooms are also pretty cold. We froze our butts off the first night with the heater on max before discovering a space heater in the wardrobe, which we subsequently ran on max to keep it 72ish in the room. Probably our biggest complaint was the breakfast. It is much lower quality food than you will find at comparably priced hotels elsewhere, i.e. the cold cuts won't include any smoked salmon or fancier cheeses, and the meat is like budget processed deli ham versus salami and quality cold cuts. Croissants and similar items are available but are lower quality than in the other hotels we stayed in. And worst of all, the amount of seating in the breakfast room is totally inadequate. They had about 7 tables, and there were frequently 20+ people eating, meaning that we all had to share tables with strangers and were constantly bumping into one another when we got up for coffee or whatever. This is a fine hotel, but we won't stay here again.
This hotel is housed in an older building with great character, particularly the breakfast/restaurant area. The price was really good and the location ideal- just south of Old Town but also close to public transport. Clean with friendly staff. The room furniture was a bit dated, although the bathroom was updated. Some large groups came in at times which could clog the check-in area although this was never a major issue.
The location is good and the staff is friendly & helpful. Just off the center of town and easily walking distance to everything. The bed was too soft.
The location is very close to the main train station and a bus center (Balti Jaam). The air conditioning didn't work and the train station was very loud all night. Also, you could hear the people in the room next to us.
Good location, clean and warm rooms. Elevator overlooking the Old town.Free parking. Thin walls.
