Not much. Staff is rude besides a few ladies that work on the weekends. The GM kept insisting I was in a 2 bed room with a microwave and refrigerator and wanted to charge me more than what I booked the room for. I had to tell her to come down to my room and see there was no amenities and only one bed. She is very unpleasant. Wayyy to much money even with a discount. Disregard their cleaning policy for corona there special precautions consisted of flipping the fitted sheet and top sheet, there was dried blood on ours, so I stripped the bed and put my own sheets and comforter set on it. So skeevey.
Motel6 used be 60$ the most then $70 was pushing it. I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels in the city for $60 and it included breakfast, room service, maid service, polite staff, and police did not come for daily warrant checks and the other hotel visitor’s weren’t living there for the last 6 months or knocking on the door at 3:45am to see if we had “any kind” of drugs and then proceeded to yell and scream obscenities at his significant other slamming doors and breaking things. I was actually told if I booked any later I would not have been happy with my room in the back of the hotel, I guess this is where most of the people who live here and beat one another’s asses are located as well as the police sometimes 4 deep. No ice, no towels, no new sheets it was over turned, the toilet clogged, no plunger, no daily room service of staying longer than one night. Told to bring our own amenities or wash what was given 🙏🏼 Then have the nerve to charge $170 and some change…..where do these people who live here get this money daily, lowest price I found was $88 then at checkin they charged me $101 and some change for taxes. The lady in the morning shift during the week is awful and should be fired but somehow is not.
You don’t get what you pay for - basic rate with taxes is about 127$ On a booking site however if you pay at the hotel it is 145$ without tax so $150-$160 ish. Due to COVID restrictions, the staff that was responsible for cleaning the rooms, linens and restocking basic needs (they give two small soaps and 1roll of toilet paper) has apparently been let go. It was two girls under the age of 20, I’m not even sure they were 18, I thought they were guests when I was walking back to my room with no ice for the third time, as it was still out of service…..they were not guests as I was walking around looking for anyone that looked as if they were working or cleaning or had any sort of towels or anything, one of the girls I thought was a guest asked me what I was doing and I said, looking for towels, a towel, toilet paper (half my roll was gone upon arrival). I also asked for any kind of sheet, because I only had a top sheet and flat sheet, no blanket, no comforter, not that I would use it anywhere anyway but it was just strange. She said what she had on her cart was for this row of rooms she pointed down to and she had no sheets, no towels and no toilet paper but she guessed I could take the one on the top of her cart. Then I opened my email and was told if I stayed more than one night I was responsible for cleaning my room and providing towels etc. I was there until the day I was supposed to move into my apartment - so I bought my own cleaning supplies and washed my towels and sheets for almost two weeks before I found the holiday inn about 3 miles away and with my Agoda app saved more than $800. The average night there was 90$ and almost 100$ with Tracy but I also had many points that saved me more. Oh and if you have warrants do not stay at Motel 6 as I learned the Tewksbury police come and check for warrants at the front desk and around 5am come and bang on the door and arrest the individual with a warrant. This happened 3 times while I was at motel6 once on the right of me and twice to the left. Talk about a wake up call. There is also a small community of people that call this place home and although friendly they’re very loud and pretty much run the place. The front desk is useless. There was one shorter woman that works there with brown hair, I didn’t get her name but she was a nice helpful woman, the others……not so much. Oh and they do not own a plunger - FYI.
Great stay, rooms are a great size, updated and quiet. COVID has changed housekeeping schedules so if you’re staying for more than one night you may want to bring some change and detergent to wash towels and sheets and Clorox wipes and maybe a little hand sweep and hand dustpan. No big deal, it is Motel 6 but the prices are the best in the area and Walmart, Applebee’s and other shopping and eating is near by. If this wasn’t a motel I would be unhappy but I was quiet satisfied and will stay again.
