Hotel 3000 Asakusa Honten

The free tea and water, the free daily exchangeable towels and the free locker. It was also nice to be able to use the shared fridge. Breakfast was surprisingly good with fried chicken being prepared daily and with things westerners might be used to which are not so common in Japan such as toast with margarine and jam. Before check in, we could leave our luggage at the reception which was nice. And lastly, the staff was very nice in general, spoke great English and was available for questions during reception hours.

The smell of chlorine cleaning agent in the showers and on the washed towels. The fact that there are no locks anywhere (except on the women only room) so that you cannot lock away your luggage except for the small locker (maybe 30x30x40) in the common room. Above the doors there is a big gap for airflow reasons I assume, so you always have some light from the corridor.

Location is great, near a lot of attractions, convenience stores, shops, food. The hostel itself has all the amenities you need, but parts of it could use a cosmetic touchup.

Pillows are a little nonexistent but that could be a cultural diffrence. Almost 2D.

Upper bunk bed is too high. I witnessed one of the guest fell down.
