An old-fashioned lodge set in the middle of a park, on an island, but right in town. Friendly, welcoming staff. Easy parking (once you get there). This is an interesting and different kind of place.
Hallway lighting is annoying (shuts off too fast).
The breakfast starts late(8am) and the hotel didn´t present a solution for the need of a early breakfast, as i was working; I had a problem with the water wich was not promptly or properly solved; the tv was old, really small and had few channels; the internet signal was very slow.
The setting is beuatiful. It is so unfortunate that the owners have chosen not to keep this property up to its potential.
The accomodation was extremely worn, breakfast cheaply provided, lighting terrible, not particularly clean, not exactly unfriendly service, more like absolutely minimal service with no warnth.
Hotel was simple, but nice. Nothing fancy, but it completely met our expectations and looked so much more interesting than the huge bland hotel nearby. It's location in a Park on the edge of the historic downtown area of Tomar was excellent.
Only complaint was that our morning was marred by leaf blowing and mowing the lawn of the lovely garden surrounding the hotel. But, really, it has to be done sometime, right?
Welcoming staff. Convenient restaurant. Perfect location for visiting the town of Tomar, yet with a rural feel, on the island park in the town centre.
