Pros: 1. The view from some rooms is great. 2. The staff is very friendly 3. The pool is nice and it has a wonderful view. 4. The location is good.
Cons: 1. They could protect more the breakfast, because there are so many bees and insects. 2. Some nights the noise from the boats was really annoying. 3. Once we arrive we were surprised, because the "deluxe" room that we booked had no balcony and in the pictures it has. They explain us that is a mistake and they have deluxe rooms with balcony and without. It was our honey moon and we booked 11 nights, so we had to wait 5 nights (without balcony) and then they made a room upgrade (with balcony). Last night we got the master room. But be careful with the deluxe room, try to be explicit with facilities.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Views from the restaurant and the infinite pool. Stay there until sunset for amazing views. Drinks (caipirinhas) are very well made and within the same price ranges you find everywhere.
Cons: There's a group of rooms that are in front of the street, next to a very small medical clinic and above the reception. These are very noisy during the morning. Everyday at 7am and 9am I consistently heard lots of people talking. Other rooms are far away, into the cliff side and much more calm, but I didn't get one of those
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Location was amazing right next to the harbour where you arrive so you don't need to pay someone to take your bags. Also right next to the village center for eateries in the evening and the road to the beach. The pool is nice and clean and the reason we stayed with such a good view. Only the head chef spoke English so all communication needed the aid of Google translate.
Cons: The room was as compact as you could be comfortable in. We only stayed two nights but much longer and it would be a bit too small.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Everything was wonderful
Cons: Light in the room gives an industrial feel... no bed lights
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Everything
Cons: Language
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We stayed in a very spacious room with beautiful views of the small harbour - room was very clean and bed super comfy. And air con was nice and quiet! Pool has incredible views and could have drinks in the pool. Staff super friendly and helpful

Pros: Wonderful views and great room with terrace. The owner is very friendly, speaks English (not a given in Brazil) and the location is quiet but not too far from the action of the village
Cons: Climbing up to the rooms is tiring, but worth the quiet location
Excellent 8.8
Pros: This pousada has an amazing view and is located in a very peaceful spot. The breackfast was great and the beach Porto de Cima is very close to the pousada and it is very beautiful and clean.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the proximity to the city and the beaches but the absolute tranquility on the pousada grounds     awakened early in the morning by the singing of the birds and the sound of the wavest the breakfast was excellent no buffet but fresh fruit salad juices and scrambled eggs to enjoy everything in peace with great views of the sea
Cons: to short stay
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Amazing view and beautiful location
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Beautiful location! Very green and calm with the forest and seaview. Werner is a great and helpful host. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are simple but nice and clean. The seaview at the breakfast its just amazing and inspiring! If you like the nature, that is the right place! I recomend Villa-Bahia and will come back to stay there again.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The host and staff were very welcoming and helpful to provide us with good recommendations on the island. It’s a beautiful location in a tropical forest with monkeys and wildlife nearby. All amenities of comfort were available - AC and refrigerator, TV and a plug in for a phone sound system. WiFi was also pretty good. It was excellent mix of rustic tropical experience with modern comforts. A lovely way to spend a holiday!
Cons: Nothing that I didn’t like, but good to know that the steps up to the pousada are not for the faint hearted. It is a few small rustic staircases up, which is great exercise!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We totally loved the place. Originally booked one night but decided to stay another one. Werner goes out of his way to give his guests a wonderful stay in a very relaxed setting. Great for tips on what to do, amazing breakfast view and cute comfortable rooms. 110% recommended!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel has a great location and a beautiful view of the sea. The owner is very friendly and give us great tips about Morro de São Paulo and region. The breakfast is also excellent.

Pros: Location is great for the view (but far from the beach). Superb terrace
Cons: Service is barely ok. Bathroom is dirty.
Good 7.5
Pros: The breakfast in the room
Cons: No water free in the room
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The wooden deck and great view of the boats at the pier and the sunset.
Cons: Reported no hot water at washand basin. After 3 days of hearing it will be repaired today I was advised they never have hot water. This despite the notice above the basin warning it can be very hot. I wish. Not for the elderly or infirm. Even if you get a low level chalet the long steep stairs in to town can be difficult.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Location, staff, design
Cons: Some pool repairs were ongoing which did not really spoil anything and will be excellent upon completion

Pros: Everything in the pousada colibri is perfect. The attention by their host was amazing, even they took the time to show me every detail of the island. The best breakfast ever, amazing!!! The property was great, and with a nice view of morro.
Cons: Probably the distance. It’s a quite away from all the places, the island it’s very small so it’s only 10 minutes away from other places. If you like a quite and peaceful place to stay this is the right pousada!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The personal of the pousada was great! Especially the owners who are a very friendly and receptive couple of Germans! The pool and the view you have from there are amazing! The nature surrounding the pousada is lovely, lots of green and always with a view of the sea! :)
Cons: It's a little bit out of the way of most of the things you have to do in Morro. To get to the pousada you have a very long staircase but if you are in good shape, it shouldn't be a problem, after all Morro is quite small anyway. I had allergy both nights I slept there, which means there was probably some dust or similar somewhere, probably under the mattresses or couch, quite rustic furniture. Nothing visible but for someone allergic, it makes the difference.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Beautiful place with very good service. Definitely a prime spot with a superb view and very good breakfast. Highly recommend for couples that enjoy the quietness.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Went for honeymoon to Morro de São Paulo and it was the best place to stay in our opinion. Beautiful view. Stuff really nice and friendly, they helped us with every single detail.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Spectacular views and the tranquility away from the main part of town. Hosts very helpful
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Evrything
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The owners were very kind and checked in frequently. After we had checked out but our boat didn't leave for another few hours they let us hang around the pool until it was time to go. Breakfast was excellent, as was the swimming pool - can't beat that view of the ocean!
Cons: There were some rather large bugs in the room when we got there but given the environment they were to be expected and it's not easy for anybody to keep them out. Just go in with this expectation. The rest of the facility was great
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Stuff is really attentive you will feel as at home!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful and serene. Our well equipped, air conditioned bungalow looked out on to beautiful bushes, lots of hummingbirds and a distant view of the bay. The pool was spotless, and at 5 feet deep, not too shallow.
Cons: It would have been nice to be able to get an afternoon or evening snack, but the kitchen was only open for breakfast. The 147 stairs to the property could be an issue for some.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Stunningly located with views out to sea. The spotless pool is set in a lovely tropical garden where you can relax in the afternoon shade. Hearty breakfast served in a lovely setting. The infamous climb is actually a great workout a couple of times a day. The pousada has strong wifi and a good breeze running through the grounds.
Cons: The bungalow felt a bit dated. Newer rooms look beautiful. The cement base to the beds was not uncomfortable but left us both with bruised legs.

Pros: Totally love this place! good location, few meters from the beach. 30-35 min walking to Morro de Sao Paulo. The owners Isa and David are REALLY nice, very good persons always ready to help. The breakfast is the best!! There is a woman who come and cooks everything, so all is "homemade flavor", the cakes are sooo delicious! I stayed 4 days here, and i enjoyed every moment. I would definitely stay here again and I totally recommend it!!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The location, views, atmosphere and price/quality. Gamboa is a perfect town to escape the crowds in Morro which is just a short boatride away. Pousada Jaju lies next to the beach and it’s a short walk to the boats to other towns.
Cons: The bed for two people was a bit small and the matras thin. Minor issue. We’re tall and heavy Europeans though so others might find it no issue.
Good 7.0
Pros: The Breakfast it´s awesome. Warm and made in time. The place it´s so quietly and cozy . Location its a little bit far from the pier, ok, only 10 minutes walking, but it´s not ok if you are old and have bone pain. There´s a restaurante Awesome near, the owner name is "Rita" and stay near from the pier, the price is fair and the food its yummy . The hotel wi-fi its great. The boat services works good. The host Elisabet its so cute and attentive.
Cons: The bed have a lot of mite. And I missed a TV into the bedroom, and finally I dont like the expectation about one picture that was used by the hotel in your ad, show a place very far from the hotel, was a lying picture. there´s not chairs belonging to the hotel in front to the hotel beach. This was frustrating for me because I chose the hotel because of this photo. Please Owners, take off this photo from your album.

Pros: The view was amazing and there is an amazing tree at the entrance.
Cons: The property is dated and at the moment has a building site in the middle of it which means building material is being spread through the posada. The staff are willing but being stretched by poor management and lack of numbers which again is a management issue.
Good 7.9
Pros: Good breakfast but get in early
Cons: Wifi didn’t really work, if you are later to breakfast they do not restock the food. Staff don’t really speak english
Excellent 8.3
Pros: I did not actually stay here but am reviewing on behalf of my parents. They had the deluxe room with the bath on the balcony and it was lovely. Very clean, very luxurious, very comfortable and the view from the tub was lovely. This hotel is right next to the dock where you arrive so unless you have a lot of stuff you could save yourself some money and not use the barrow boys who take your luggage as it really isn't far. And it's just off of central so it's quiet enough but still being a nice walking distance to the town and beaches for eating in the evening.
Cons: There seemed to be only one person there who spoke English. The lady that we dealt with at reception who only spoke portuguese was actually very nice so maybe the 2 star rating for staff was a little bit harsh but i put this based on the restaurant ladies who apparently were no help whatsoever, were not interested in helping out the guests (by this I mean, doing their job), refused to even try and help anyone that didnt speak portuguese (apparently couldnt even understand what Coca Cola meant) and spent the whole time chatting to one another.
Good 7.9
Pros: The hotel is well located, being both near the docks and the main square. It has a small swimming pool with a view and a good breakfast.
Cons: We were given an old room, somewhat cramped, with small bathroom. The TV had few options and from day 4 onwards, had a fuzzy image.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: View, comfy bed, overall vibe of the grounds.
Cons: You cannot drink water from the tap, but the bottles of water in the fridge are at a cost.
Good 7.5
Pros: Location, size of the room, jacuzzi.
Cons: The housekeeping. 3 days without new towels
Good 7.9
Pros: Then hotel is great location great staff only few stention to details of cleaning was missed but over all we love it
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The staff is fantastic here. They are always ready and willing to help you out with anything you may need. I stayed in the lower "lodge". The room had a door out onto a patio. The lower part is more like a B&B and up into the mountains they have great lofts of various sizes with an amazing view. Nice pool way up in the hill that overlooks the harbor. Great breakfast.
Cons: I went during Carnaval at high season so the prices are really inflated all over the country. On the average it was inline or a little cheaper than most places in town for what it offers.
Okay 5.4
Pros: The view is spectacular! And it’s of course awesome to have an own whirlpool on your balcony
Cons: The whirlpool smelled when switched on as did the A/C The interior was done with little love, almost no decorations, no light concept. No safe in the room. Bathroom had some molding spots in the shower and no sanitary items. Staff at breakfast was not interested in making guests feel welcome and mostly hiding in the kitchen if not they sprayed cleaning solutions on the fruits to scare away flies. WiFi mostly wouldn’t give you access to the internet. New rooms are currently being constructed which comes with some noise. All in all just way too less for 660 BRL per night and thus a very disappointing experience.

Pros: Room was good size, in a lovely setting.
Cons: When we arrive we were told the electricity wasn't working but it seemed to be working in our room. Unfortunately when we complained about the light in the bathroom not working it wasn't repaired because they said the power was out! It was simply a blown lightbulb.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Pousada O Casarao is one of the most beautiful houses in Morro de Sao Paulo. It is in the main place, with easy access from the port. It also has a wonderful restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were so beautiful, bed sheets soft and the shower was perfect as well. The kids loved the pool. The garden is so very beautiful, I did not see anything similar in other Pousadas there.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness. Need improvements!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a beautiful Hotel in front of the main square of Morro de Sao Paulo, the people are very kind and friendly. The hotel and the Island have a very good security, Even if you forgot something in a sector of the hotel nobody touched it, you could find it the next day in the same place. We've loved this place!
Cons: Anything! All was perfect!
Good 7.1
Pros: The pousada is very unique, in the middle of a small square and not far from the boat dock and Ferrol. The rooms in the old house are very spacious and have a great view. The beaches and restaurants are easy to reach (as everything in town). Safety is not a problem and the staff always with a smile. The restaurant downstairs gives either a discount or a free drink (but was unfortunately not mentioned at check in). From the pool you have a nice view.
Cons: The mattresses were a bit worn. The staff speaks very little English. No shampoo is provided.

Pros: Facilities and location were superb! breakfast excellent and kitchen staff very gentle and helpful!
Cons: had a little problem with the AA, it lasted too long to actually get the room climate good, and as we were 3, one of the beds was located right down the AA so, the one sleeping there could suffer the direct air in the face(we fixed it by just moving the bed a little)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location in the main square of the village is great, specially when you arrive and at night. The breakfast is fantastic! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at Solar das Artes again.

Pros: Excellent location right on the Town square. Also near the boat landing and walkable to all the beaches. My room was very quiet and extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Everything fine.

Pros: Super location. It is close to the port, yet felt part of the jungle, had a cooling wind, 10 minutes walk to Argila beach (beautiful and quiet), yet close to Morro de Sao Paulo town centre and the popular beaches in the other direction.
Cons: Virtually no English spoken by the staff made communication really difficult.
Good 7.9
Pros: Sweet staff, beautiful view, quiet location, relaxed place in general.
Cons: Doors that made a lot of noise so you would wake up people. Stairs that wounded your feet due to rock decorations that stuck out. No coffee maker.

Pros: Just staying here one night before we took the ferry over to Morro de Sao Paolo and it was pleasant enough. I found the staff to be very nice and helpful. And the set up is lovely. The outside and the main foyer are decorated lovely and the restaurant is very nice there (which is good as the city of Valneca itself didnt look so nice). In fact, my father believes he had the best spaghetti bolognese he has ever had there. I wouldn't have mind arriving there earlier or staying an extra night as I would have liked to have a chance to use the swimming pool (with a slide), gym and pool table that they have available. The breakfast spread was rather incredible and we had an extra treat as there were 3 Macaw parrots out by the pool sitting in a shelter that is designed to attract them in.
Cons: The rooms themselves are not much really. The twin room is actually a double bed with a single bed alongside it so made it a bit cramped. Really surprising as the rest of the hotel is rather posh and chique and then the rooms themselves are a bit plain and basic. But comfortable enough.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everthing else
Cons: Our room was close to the bar, which was noisy until 1am when someone spent what seemed like an age asking for quiet.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Nice staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Great breakfast. Made it a good destination in itself, because Valença certainly isn't!!
Cons: It was hard to fault.
Good 7.9
Pros: Checked in at 2 am. Ideal for last ferry to bom despach from Salvador.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Exceeded our expectations, by a lot. Large hotel with 5 star feeling! Very nice staff, beautiful green setting incl view of the river from balcony and terras . Dinner was excellent!
Cons: Everything perfect!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: We stayed here as a stop to continue to boipeba. The hotel was a bit out of date, but nice. The beds sleep very well!! Good breakfast.
