Pros (+) Rather than stay at a chain hotel, I decided to take my kids to Duff Green on the way home from PCB. Restored beautifully and accurately, the mansion stands as a physical embodiment of the antebellum and civil war south. Looking down from the second story balcony on Vicksburg, I could almost see guests and family arriving by horse drawn carriage and hear the cries of excitement from the Green chil...
Cons (-) We arrived late at night, just past 11 pm. It's near a poor part of town in the historic district and several locals were loitering about, but, as we crossed Locust street onto the mansion grounds, all was well. No issues whatsoever, but try to arrive in the light of day.
