Overall, so so
Breakfast was ok, had a reasonable selection of fresh items. Check in was efficient and staff welcoming. Location is convenient to get to mall, WH, etc.
Garage prices, billed on top of already expensive rooms are outrageous Too little space for breakfast, basically cramping in vacated meeting room or using tiny side tables and lounge chairs. Showers, while working, clearly require a makeover to fix partially broken handles.
Good value in a great location
Rooms were what you expected for a Hampton Inn - location was excellent. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Convenient location to downtown DC
Food options limited but considering neighborhood it;s not a deal breaker.
Bed was very comfortable. And hotel is in a great location.
Breakfast was comprised of the cheapest possible foods. Highly unsatisfying. Coffee was mediocre. In-room coffee was terrible.
Free hot breakfast and wifi are always appreciated, as are 24-hour coffee and tea (although one has to travel to the lobby for it!). Very convenient location within easy walking distance of metro station.
Items in snack shop were overpriced and some items were out of stock, which further constrained one's already limited food options.
We made a great choice!
The staff were exceptional - friendly, professional, and accommodating! Spacious room that was very nice. Comfortable bed with freshly washed duvet instead of a nasty bedspread. Mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room, although fresh coffee was available in the lobby at any time. Wonderful shower and clean bathroom. Having never stayed in Washington DC before, we were surprised by the fee for parking instead of free parking. We found later that every hotel in DC charges for parking. It was roughly $50 per day but parking was secured safely in two basement levels. We had access to the car whenever we wanted, we just had to ask. our checkout time was 12:00 Sunday, but could stay parked until 1:00. We checked out in the morning and were able to pay an extra $10 to leave it parked until 5:00. Good deal! If you stay here, be sure to eat at least once at Busboys and Poets around the corner. Best crab cake platter I ever had! The were served over grits that were as creamy as mashed potatoes, covered with lobster sauce, and topped with fresh asparagus. And the waiting area is a bookstore! Wonderful atmosphere in the bookstore and restaurant.
Always enjoy our stay here - great location
Staff, breakfast, pool
No parking
Forced to valet park at $99 for 2 nights. I don't like to valet park. I didm;t have an option. If I had known this ahead of time, I never would have booked.
A great value for being walkable to the capital mall area, great restaurants, etc. A block from Safeway too.
Great Stay
Complimentary Coffee/Tea bar 24/7, breakfast, daily apples in lobby, friendly staff.
Neighborhood location under construction.
not bad
Convenient to convention center. Older but modernized and clean.
Not a lot of parking available. Valet was full both nights I stayed. Hotel keys problematic. Vending machines were not working On my floor.
Reliable spot for an overnight business trip.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The gym had four workout machines and two of them were not functional. In the morning this prevented travelers from getting a morning workout in.
