The outdoor Onsen was very pretty
They place was empty of both staff and customers, everything seemed to be shut down, the building was closed. At the recpetion desk there was no one to communicate with. There was nowhere to get food. We found out on our second day that it was off season and the city had gone into shut down. Overall, well off the beaten bath and nothing to do or see.
The hot spring baths at the Ryokan are amazing. Particularly the outdoor bath is fantastic.
Excellent service. Breakfast was amazing. Close to the train station without being polluted by noise. Great peaceful Onsen temperature was perfect. Staff willingly drove me a to the monkey park without me even needing to ask. They know why your here! They even gifted me with apples before I set off. Lovely cost ryoukan for sure! The town itself is a tranquil peaceful haven. Hidden rural town far from any hustle and bustle but still accessable to cities like Nagano! Amazing little place with lots to discover and great views if you're willing to explore and look for it!
Staff's English was almost non existent but that's fine because was still able to communicate what I needed with them! It's Japan! Don't expect English everywhere you go!
The onsen rooms that can be lock for private use only
The stairs is a bit steep.
Beautiful onsen, it’s nice that they switch male and female bathing times around so you can try both. The outdoor one is awesome. The room is spacious and traditional. Futon beds aren’t crazy comfortable but good experience. The owner drove us to the monkey park which was nice.
