Pros: The hosts are very nice and very helpful. You can have dinner at the BandB which is convenient and the food is tasty. They help you book tours in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet neighborhood next to a couple of small convenient stores and the square and church in Yanque. Elar couldn’t be a better host! He was very attentive to my every need and provided everything I asked for. he arranged transportation to and from activities, horses by the door, late breakfasts, you name it. Breakfast was always excellent and fullfilling, and he always asked if you wanted something else or more of the same. Elar seemed to be always a step ahead. i would come back over and over again. great for relaxation and excellent value for money
Cons: Some construction noise during the day, but this is only very temporary. It is during the day only, and you are not supposed to be in your room during the day, right? there are tons of activiities!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every is super clean. The room we got was very big with a big seating area. The food we had for supper was delicious and very well presented. We originally had ir booked for 1 night but we added an extra night becouse is such a great place to stay. The wifi is very strong and consist.
Cons: There is nothing not to like.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing stay. Elar went out of his way to help us out with everything we needed. He even arranged transportation from Puno to Yanque and from Yanque to Arequipa. We were very happy with our stay. Breakfast and dinner were amazing as well.
Cons: Loved everything
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Very little English. Had to go to other hotel to get travel and tour info.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the rooms, the nice evening dinner etc... everything is perfect
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, always smiling. 4 of us stayed one night here during a trip, had 2 rooms and both were perfect. Little heater as it was chilly out. They got breakfast ready for us earlier than the specified times as we were leaving on a tour. Yummy dinner and breakfast. Very comfy bed. They didn't mind my terrible attempts at Spanish.
Cons: All great. Loved it.

Pros: Beautiful landscape,good restaurant
Cons: It was a construction site next to our room,so if u are sick it’s quite hard to stay in the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy .very good bedding .warm .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel and staff
Cons: No
9.2 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived we both had altitude sickness and just chilled for a day - and what a nice spot to do it! We were there for 3 nights and our room had a large private patio with a lovely view. We had a very enjoyable walk with Paulo and he was very knowledgeable about history, plants, you name it. All the staff (namely Cesar, Orland and Paulo) went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food in the restaurant was very good and we ate there every night.
Cons: The only thing that let them down was their lunch box offering - the vegetarian cheese sandwich wasn't up to their usual standard - dry, hardly edible and expensive for what it was.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place to relax after a long hike. It's worthwhile spending a few more days than the usual 2 to visit the other highlights of the colca valley, other than the condors. Especially recommended is the evening guided tour, the guide is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and it's history. The hotsprings afterward is the icing on the cake.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and very warm, the hammocks very cosy and the staff super friendly and professionnal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place and beautiful excursion with Paul on Uyo Uyo Collaguas site.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lodge is amazing, buildings are brand new and room was confortable and clean. We appreciated very much the heater (simulating chimney with stones and flames). It would have been outstanding if the swimmingpool they are building now would have been already built.
Cons: Regarding to Hotel (despite the Puno-Colca Tour): Lower music volume in restaurant would be appreciated. Puno-Colca Tour: We hired Puno-Yanque / Yanque-Arequipa Tour with the Lodge Killawasi (3D/2N) and it was a total failure... 105€ each and the bus on the way to Yanque was ultra dirty and the A/C wasn't working properly at all, it was a sand fan. They sell it as if it is a tour, but in reality it is a simple transfer. Not confortable at all for the price you pay, keep low expectations if you dare to do it. In my humble opinion, visiting the Colca Valley is not worth it at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We just loved it from start to finish. Large room with v comfy bed and powerful shower. Delicious chicken and avocado salad and friendly super helpful staff catering to our every need. Hot springs were wonderfully restorative. Big thanks and big treat. Emma and Matt Brett
Cons: If I have to find fault it was the patchy internet but I am told there was a temporary problem and usually it is fine. Feels wrong to be on it anyway when you’re in such an astonishingly sublime setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Their new manager - a real treasure. The client service on the top level. The guided tour cannot be missed! The room was comfortable and clean. Nice garden
Cons: I would change a variety of breakfast. No vegetables. It’s a pity as this is the kingdom of avocado and you can buy also a very good tomates.

Pros: Gorgeous location! We stayed in the villa with its own private hot pool. It was beautiful with an amazing view. The food at dinner was suitable and all the staff were really lovely and helpful. The walk to the hotel hot pools and Alpaca farm were also a highlight. Highly recommend staying here in the Colca Canyon.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hot springs and the location was beautiful and worth a price.
Cons: I felt that food in the restaurant wasn't great but rather expensive for what it was. I wouldn't dine there again.

Pros: We really enjoyed the hot springs, especially at night for looking at the stars. We also really liked the alpaca ranch.
Cons: Everything was great and idyllic.

Pros: Great location at the end of a long exhausting and beautiful trip. The hot pools are extremely relaxing and rooms very quiet. Unfortunately we spent only one night
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location, hot springs, amazing gardens. Fairy tale like.
Cons: The big restaurant had no class and accepted large groups of tourists. Breakfast is not what one might expect of a 4 star. I would have liked more information on hiking readily available

10.0 Excellent
Pros: - really good restaurant with amazing food for good value - stunning location in colca canyon - organised a Cruz del condor trip for us - amazing lodge accommodation - electric blankets and heater were needed - staff were amazing - staff sent our lost passports to us in puno - from what we observed, this is the best accommodation in chivay
Cons: - although it was our fault , the staff did not check our safe properly when we checked out, so we left our passports and it caused a huge amount of grief - observatory tour/show was not in operation.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice gardens and quite comfortable if chilly rooms. Good bathroom. The manager took the trouble to speak to us at length before she left and admitted her staff needed more training.
Cons: On booking. Com it states it has a tour desk. Staff told us they could not help us book a taxi to the Condors mirador but to go into the main plaza. We did and booked a taxi through an agent. The taxi did not arrive. In the end the head porter found us another taxi. The heater in the room was inadequate and its feet fell off.
6.2 Good
Pros: Electric blanket and decor
Cons: Wet bathroom floors
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms with very good warm beds
Cons: Shpere in Brabander dining room. Could be much cosier in my opinion : make it a warm location, for example always lite the fire when it’s cold

Pros: Cosy hotel!
Cons: Very bad WiFi
7.1 Good
Pros: People are very nice and helpful
Cons: Everything is more or less basic in the rooms, that could have been of higher quality
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Big groups at breakfast who took all the food! Not hotels fault I know
7.5 Good
Pros: Some of the rooms allocated to family members were very small. Basic accommodation. Restaurant on site which is a plus as the hotel is not close to restaurants. No tea / coffee facilities in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, close to main plaza. Heated blankets in every bed and also a heater for the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed is warmed up Being cold , it will be like a touch of angel
Cons: Just careful with massage Make sure you know what to expect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel. At this point in my month in Peru I was ready for heat and a bit more comfortable lodging vs a hostel or very simple hotel. Casa Andina Colca was a great price for all you get. The staff was so so helpful and friendly. Room had great blackout curtains and privacy blinds for the day. Hot water was plentiful. Room super clean. Location good - less than 5 minutes to Plaza de Armas. Heater worked fine, if you are cold, make sure to turn it on asap. Oh! And electric blankets were a unique touch! I hadn't watched any TV all month so I loved the tv and the remote control instructions. It is the first hotel that I've seen ever with a cool button you can press to make the show be in English. So say a show is produced in English but shown in Spanish in Peru, the remote brings it back to English. Was nice to watch a movie at night. Would love to stay here again. I ate at buffet dinner once. Truthfully I think it was too expensive but I was dying to eat a huge salad and knew I could trust the raw veggies they had.

7.9 Good
Pros: Perfectly fine. Basic and okay for 1 night. The host let me stay until noon (checkout is 10am normally but I was the only one in.) Felt quite welcome there.
Cons: Thought it was a bit dark but that's the building and can't be fixed I don't think.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Marina was super nice and helpful, she gave us great recommendations and even came with us to the bus station to help us.
Cons: It was very, very cold in the room. We had a small heater, but even so it wasn't enough. On our second night there was no hot water.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful with information. The room including the bed were comfortable with good hot water in the bathroom. The breakfast was good. Heater was welcome and was used in short bursts to take the cold out of the room.
Cons: A television with an English channel would have been nice but not essential. Barking dogs early in the morning was a nuisance but this is not the fault of the owner!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Marena was awesome. Helped with recommendations around Chivay, arranged for short trip to neighboring towns, always happy and helpful. Chivay is a great little town. They have upgraded a lot of streets and are continuing to do so. Lots of effort to make the town a better place. Kollawas is on a "main" street, but it is pretty quiet, especially in the rooms at the back of the building.
Cons: Room was a bit small - no real place to stick our luggage, just a small path around the bed. Internet was very slow, but still better than Cabanaconde.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marina is a wonderful kind host
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marina the owner of the hostal is a lovely women. She try to organize all for the guests. Unfortunatly was the time schedule for my trip to short to stay longer. Thank you also for the exelent tour though the Colca Canyon by Palermo. This was the best training for the Salkantay trail.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marina the manager was so lovely and gracious, and made us feel very much at home. She gave us excellent advice about hikes and restaurants and transport options to nearby attractions like the thermal baths, Corporaque, etc. If I ever return to Chivay I would make a point of going to her hostel again if only to greet her and see how she is doing. Excellent host.
Cons: It was hard to stay warm in the room at night, but this is not the hostel’s fault. The space heater worked ok, but it generated an intense light in the room, so be prepared and bring an eye mask. With that, it’s fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: First of all, in Chivay it is hard to find the perfect hostel. But this hostel was clean, had hot water, towels, comfortable beds, and a kitchen. The most important factor is Marina. She helped me with everything, even walking me to the bus station and negotiating a discount for my bus to Puno. She also talked about the town and brought in special fruits for my breakfast accommodating my diet. If you stay in Chivay, you can't go wrong here.
Cons: I thought 20$ was a bit expensive and the WiFi was a bit slow.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming. Marina helped us out from the begining to the end. She even make breakfast earlier than the regular schedule just for us since we were leaving early for our Colca tour. She went above and beyond with hospitallity expectations !!
Cons: For an affordable price you need to be considered with your expectations. Overall great customer service !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: I really enjoyed my stay there, Marina was super nice and she helped to organize my colca Canyon tour

Cons: The receptionists were a bit clueless & really didn’t do the hotel justice.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice, clean and comfortable room
Cons: Expensive hotel for the service provided. I had to pay cash.
5.4 Okay
Pros: They were gracious enough not to charge us the full fee for a two night stay as we left after one night.
Cons: Rooms did not look anything like website photos. Bare light bulbs, old computer desk station used as shelf, very tired looking decor. Breakfast very disappointing , dinner barely average.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly, helpful, and always available if we needed something.
Cons: The room was a bit expensive considering we were visiting in low season and the hotel is located across the river from town.

7.1 Good
Pros: Ma chambre spacieuse et propre
Cons: No hot water No wifi in my room
5.8 Okay
Pros: Big room, nice garden, comfortable bed.
Cons: Normally there isn't a hot water in the shower. We needed to ask for the hot water. The stuff isn't the most friendly. They don't speak English. Breakfast was limited and I had a feeling that they gave us refill of the cheese reluctantly. Another thing that they should try to find a way to improve is a doorbell. It's super loud and you can hear it perfectly from any room in the accommodation. Also you don't get any benefit for excursion organized with them (the price is the same as if you were booking in Arequipa - even worse).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our room was clean and comfortable and much cheaper than the more central hotels in Chivay. The staff spoke no English but were friendly and helpful. Plenty of hot water in the shower.
Cons: The bathroom was very small. Not very central but not a big deal in a town as small as Chivay. Breakfast wasn't great.
6.7 Good
Pros: The price. The place is run by nice hard working family, including children. They do the laundry for 5 soles per kilo.
Cons: Many things: The electric sockets are so old and worn out that it was very, very hard to charge the phones. The bathroom is about the smallest possible. The door/window is to the inner yard / entrance so we could hear everything. Around 5-6 am arrive buses with tourist for breakfast making it impossible to sleep longer. The breakfast is pathetic, the coffee is more like a tea. The towels are very thin. The parking is tandem, so be prepared to move your car at any time.
6.7 Good
Pros: The room is clean, around 10 minutes walks to the Plaza, we had hot water during the nights, and the views from this hostal is beautiful.
Cons: The bathroom is so small. The breakfast was poor and no fruits at all. The coffee for breakfast could be better. In the end, we had our breakfast in a cafe at La Plaza. Wish the staff were more friendly.
6.7 Good
Pros: About 5-7 minutes to the main square.
Cons: You get what you pay for. The staff was helpful but the room smelled mouldy and at night the room was very cold. We got an extra blanket but it was still cold. Breakfast was coffee, white bread and jam, so not very filling. Also it was not possible to pay with card so one needs to have cash to pay for the stay.
7.1 Good
Pros: The rooms were decent and clean.
Cons: The staff was a bit unfriendly and the breakfast was not served on time.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good. Advices for tours and buses were welcome and great. They were super nice, keeping our backpacks for one day while we went to the Colca Canyon.
Cons: The bathroom door didn't really close. The whole room was extremely tiny.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very clean with towels and good warm blankets. The breakfast was also great and they were ready to serve us already at 6 am! The best part of our stay was the hot water bottles that were placed in our beds while we were out for dinner. These kept us warm all through the night!
Cons: The only complaint we could have was that the room did not have so much space however, this was not so much of a problem.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was really nice and clean, the beds very comfy. There was en suite bathroom with a hot shower in the room. The towels were included. Wifi connection was great. The terrace was a nice place to have a morning coffee while enjoying a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. I would definitely stay again at this property.
Cons: It was very cold at night, but the rest was great.

Pros: The host is absolutely amazing! He showed us around, walked us in the village and even came all the way with us to the hot springs! Really feels like you are experiencing life as a local! Room is quite spacious and there is always warm water in the shower! Ask for advice for places to eat!
Cons: Breakfast even though included is not really sufficient. Also we were locked outside one night and had to climb the door to enter. Make sure you let them know if you are out and you will come back late.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, up kept property, you feel like you're a hobbit. The owners are lovely, kind and full of smiles (and patient with my poor spanish communication skills). The bed was very comfortable, they gave us plenty of blankets to stay warm at night, and, the pillows were comfy! I have found other places have really bad pillows.
Cons: For the price, it would have been nice to have a little more offered for breakfast, also unfortunately the shower wasn't warm :(
