we had a brilliant time at the Baobab. The staff were friendly and helpful. Had a very good breakfast. Our room mirador 001 was particularly amazing.
Location, Amazing views from the balcony. Room was very spacious and clean
Buffet food at night was a bit bland
We just spent 9 nights here. We were traveling with our family (3 kids under the age of 6). We booked a Serenity Rio room, some of these rooms have a raised pool with sand on the side, and others have a normal pool where the pool is at ground level. I was really hoping for a raised pool since 2 of our children are 2 and under and more at risk for falling into the pool while running/crawling around. I emailed a few weeks before check in to request one if it was available. We were given a regular pool room (no sandy area, non-raised pool). We requested a room change and the front desk was SO nice to offer a room change after the second night. The 2nd room was perfect in every way. Kids loved the shallower pool (my 6 yr old could touch at the deepest end, the water was to her shoulders, my waist). The raised pool also had a shallower ledge all along the side that my 2 and 1 year old could stand and play on forever. The sand was awesome for them to play too. If you have small children, the raised pool is beyond perfect. My husband and I were truly able to relax on the patio while the kids were playing around the pool. Breakfast was great. I thought we'd utilize the breakfast boxes more, but we only did for one night! It was good, but we liked the bigger selection in the buffet, so we ended up doing that the rest of the nights. The fitness facility across the street was fun for the kids and adults. You could sit and have a bite to eat or a drink and the kids could play in the sandy play area right next to the FUEL restaurant while you kept a close eye on them. The kids club was also really good. My 6 year old spent a lot of time there and throughly enjoyed it and begged to go every day to play with the kids and do the activities. Overall this was the perfect situation for a holiday with small children! Thank you for an amazing stay!
The location was so nice because of the amazing views, but a little bit of a walk down to the beach and shops/restaurants that aren't hotel affiliated. It wasn't a long walk there, but the walk back up the hill was slightly difficult with small children in tow. We did use the cab service a few times, and sometimes we just got an extra workout in, ha! If I didn't have the kids with me, it wouldn't have been a big deal. More food options for the room service breakfast would have been nice, but it was sufficient. No way to guarantee what type of pool you'll get with the room. I would have paid extra to know we'd get a room with raised sides, that's how much of a deal it was! I took the chance and emailed beforehand and they let me know that'd see what they could do, but there was no guarantee. Unless you have really little children who aren't used to having a pool at your home, it's hard to understand...but they truly just crawl and run everywhere without paying much attention and we wouldn't have been able to enjoy our private pool nearly as much with the ground level pool. We would have been on high alert the entire time, worrying about the patio door being shut and locked, worrying that they were running around too much on the patio and someone would fall/crawl in, etc...It was a HUGE weight off our shoulders when we moved rooms. I really wish there was a way to guarantee the type of pool, I'd be more inclined to book again if there was!
Do liked. Perfect location and facilities. If you have car, then mega excellent.
No comments. Everyone can see us. But we had honeymoon night and it was perfecttttttisssimo.
the staff in the hotel are very friendly and always willing to help. Our suite is spacious and equipped with everything necessary for family holidays with kids.
We could always smell the toilet in our my bedroom (the toilet is separated from the bedroom by a glass door) even when we kept the door tightly closed and ventilation on, but we assume it is rather a design problem of the room than a cleaningness issue.
