Loved this place, the staff, the room, the bar, the food and location were all excellent....brilliant place for dogs, the staff really make a fuss of them, with loads of treats, our Tilly loved it. We'll definitely be going back.
Staff very friendly. Food was excellent, very homely feel all round.
Super location with a view over the valley & hills. Bathroom super clean and modernised, bed super comfy. Food in the bar area a bit more pricey than normal, but incredibly big portions - breakfast good value for money too! Would stay again to explore Hawkshead and maybe do some fishing at Esthwaite.
Nothing to complain about - the roads there a bit narrow!!
Huge and comfy beds & linen, amazingly helpful and friendly staff, perfect location & extremely dog friendly.
We stayed one night and had a great pub dinner and breakfast with good choices. Very dog friendly, in fact I think we were the only people staying who did not have at least one dog, so beware if you have allergies or don't like dogs, we liked it. Room was a little cramped but we were on the road for more than 2 weeks so had large suitcases, but it was a good price. Staff friendly and good beer and food.
Mattress on one side slumped a little and the soap in the shower was empty, minor items. The one bedside lamp didn't work (and yes we mentioned it after checking in) and hadn't worked for a while we were told and it needed replaced. Apart from that, we enjoyed the stay.
When you stay at Cuckoo Brow Inn in Ambleside, you'll be in a national park, within a 15-minute walk of Hill Top and Lake Windermere. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
