Good hotel to stop on a trip for a night
Nothing. Only, the staff was hopeful
The clean room was bad, the bathroom was dirty, the bed was uncomfortable, with the noise in the other rooms we can’t sleep well. The breakfast?? OMG that wasn’t a breakfast, was insufficient.
Staff was very friendly. Hotel is located very close to the entrance of the highway.
Matrass of the bed was very hard.
I didn't have breakfast but it looked great. I tried the coffee & it was excellent (offered to me by the manager after the receptionist stuffed up). One of the receptionists did a mixup of my room, was a bit rude for no reason, which was inconvenient to me (I didn't see her again at the desk after that). However, the manager was so helpful, polite & fixed everything & it never happened again. The manager is really helpful & friendly & has no issues speaking English or French. I speak a bit of french but I chose it as I was after a budget option & it was super clean & did the job. I would have loved a kettle in the room so I could make my own coffee but there was a TV & desk, breakfast is also an option & it looked great actually, very good value but I like to sleep in sometimes or go to the bakery nearby. There is also a Lidl nearby. It is within walking distance to a tram but more applicable for people who have a vehicle as there is plenty of free parking out the front. Definitely great if you have a car. I didn't have a car but have no issue being further out of the city as I just wanted to save some money. Its an 800m walk from the tram, over the bridge that crosses the highway-so it was a bit difficult if you have luggage but I am determined to save money so it was my choice. The manager & other employees were also so polite, happy & friendly. The manager was fantastic. They said good morning & good night, wished me a great day. The cleaning was fantastic. There's a fan if you get hot & blackout curtains. It was very quiet for me, I always sleep with ear plugs anyway, you can't expect to be near a city & not have noise, thats normal. Its basic & clean & has all the necessities. I came to see Bordeaux, not sit in my room but it was very comfortable to come back to. I watched TV at night or used wifi-which is free. Massive car spaces out front and very safe!
One of the receptionists did a mixup of my room, was a bit rude for no reason, which was inconvenient to me (I didn't see her again at the desk after that). I spoke french & was being polite, there is no reason for people to be smart especially when you are paying money for a service. People need to just do their job. She also wanted me to chase after her for a code, I didn't come to Bordeaux to wait around in my room to help her do her job, I came to look at Bordeaux. Also when arriving initially late at night to the hotel, I was going the right way to the hotel & a lady stopped & told me I was going the wrong way (when I wasn't-found out later I was going the right way when a man helped me). My phone had died but I had written the address down before it did at the airport. Naturally, this is not the hotels fault but I feel they need to have a little map on the booking.com website and instructions where to walk from the tram (not everyone has a car). That way I can feel confident I am on the right track. Also I feel the tram that is in a straight line is actually closer & people should be advised to get off at this stop (not the one around the corner). It is also concreted most of the way so easier to roll your luggage down this, whereas the other tram stop doesn't have a proper footpath which makes it difficult. I had issues when I arrived as my phone died & I didn't receive the code in time before my phone battery died. A text would have been great. When I arrived the reception had just closed. I managed to get in via someone else coming into the property & I had to plug in my phone in order to be able to turn it on & check my emails so I could get the code. I got the code & managed to get to my room. More information on the booking.
There was no heating in the room even if it was mentioned in the facilities and outside was 12 degrees and less in the night. On my request they gave me just one blanket and said "This is all I can do for you". Being in a wheelchair I often freeze that's why I'm careful with choosing my hotels and this was a bad choice. No hair dryer in the room. The hotel is populated mostly by worker. during our stay the were people all day just behind the window working something and nobody cares about noise or disturbing guests.
