The Old Salt Office is tucked away overlooking the canal in Bad Durrenberg - wherein there is an old salt-extraction wall - one of only a few I have seen in Germany. This, the associated spa and restored buildings for the shipment of salt are worth a visit. A related museum opens at 1000 in summer months. The hotel bedrooms were clean and well-appointed, if a little sparse. It appears to be run as the annex to an adjacent restaurant which was lively, well-patronized by the locals and offered an extensive local dinner menu. On arrival you need to call the number posted on the hotel door to get the patron to come. A phone and a little German helps. Breakfast served in the annex was good and filling
No adverse comment.

I asked for the most quiet room, and the one I got was not quiet at all, there are quieter rooms probably on the other side of a building
