8.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Great staff, very helpful and accommodating. 2. Due to a lack of organising on our part we required a check out a day earlier which the hotel accommodated and there was no extra charge. 3. Superb/excellent breakfast which is set outside your room and delivered as table service. 4. Location is briliant! Close to everything. 5. Clean and tidy. 6. Good for couples. 7. Excellent size room and furnishings.
Cons: 1. Rooms based in the courtyard are open to disruption, especially on the morning. But otherwise it is queit and peaceful. 2. You must buzz in if returning late night. It woild be useful for guests to uave a key to main front door. Especially if you are a smoker and smoking is not allowed in the hotel courtyard. 3. Due to the nature of the building there is a lack of windows to rooms, but the property does have high vaulted celings. 4. Parking facilities are limited and guests are expected to park their car in another location and pay 50Q per night for the use of a enclosed manned parking space. 5. No robes of slippers are provided. 6. There is no complimentary tea or coffee in the room. But delivered to your room upon request. 7. Bathroom is is very small.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are arranged around courtyards full of flowers. The staff is friendly and extremely eager to be of service. The breakfast buffet is amazing. This is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.
Cons: I was put off by having to send copies of my passport and credit card by email to pay for my registration. Perhaps this is a common practice for hotels in this region, but it is NOT a secure means of payment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent customer service specially the gentlemen at the entrance and the waiter/waitress at the restaurant and bar. The hotel is clean, gardens are well maintained, coffee and water available at the corridors. Armando picked us up from the airport and he was helpful and kind, very gentle given my mom is 85. He gave us directions , tips and a history overview . Thank you Don Armando.!The breakfast buffet offers a large variety of cold and hot dishes, we had breakfast there a couple of time once we got familiarized with the area we had our meals outside. It is expected to be more expensive than outside but the service is very good. There was a tremor one of the nights first I got scared but then I remembered this is a new construction not like the adobe old houses at the center of the city which gave me peace of mind and went back to sleep. Thank you all for the excelente customer service! I cannot wait to comeback !

Pros: Every thing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful and there are several niches where sit in indoor/outdoor natural settings.
Cons: "Didn't like" is inaccurate. "Would have preferred" is more accurate. There is a very large jacuzzi style pool. In the hotter months it would be more refreshing if it were not heated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the beds, the showers, the gardens, and the breakfast Buffet.
Cons: need returning perks for repeat clients
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good. Big spread but was charged extra.
Cons: The rooms were all facing inwards. Thats so depressing. Very minimal natural lighting. Had to switch on the lights even in the day. Compared to this the Santo Domingo hotel has better spread out rooms with balconies etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great, great bed. Fantastic staff and great food.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food is excellent. Service also good. Location is also good, close to Central plaza, local shops and restaurants. Very competitive to all high end hotels here in Antigua.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed and pillows were like clouds
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The location, the ambience, the rooms and the food were all great. We were all comfortable and enjoyed the stay, the only complaint (if a true complaint at all) is the service speed. We would sometimes order drinks and would not get it till 15 - 20 minutes afterwards. After that, we would rarely see the waiter.
Cons: Service speed needs a boost. While not horrible to ruin our experience, it could've made it so much better and pleasant.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: They should have a swimming pool
7.5 Good
Pros: The furniture and the bathroom
Cons: I’ve been here before and the hotel was in Better shape before. The manager wants present . In room 25 there was a noise of something electric but didn’t know what was. I requested aromatherapy and nobody came.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is a gem
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay - it was a beautiful, quiet and very clean hotel. Our room was so comfortable and loved the little touches like an oil diffuser that you could use. It was great being able to use the pool at their sister hotel too. Location wise it was only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Antigua too.
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service was quick. If you called for help they usually came by in a minute. Rooms large and spacious. Hotel grounds were beautiful.
Cons: Had a few issues where the safe didn’t work and AC broke. Breakfast was not included. Room smelled a bit musty and damp. Sound traveled and would be woken up early in the morning. Next time would stay north of the central square.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff is super helpful, they made us feel at home. Always were at our service. Even though we got some mix up on our reservation, they were able to accommodate us in a room according to our needs without charge. The room is super spacious, has a living room and the shower is beautiful. There's a hot tub in the yard if you'd like to use it.
Cons: Even when I specifically selected pet-friendly hotels, and chose a pet-friendly hotel on Bookins, they didn't know I was bringing my dog and said I needed a different room. I think this is more a Bookins problem than the hotel's. They were able to accommodate us in a pet-friendly room without any charge. They do charge $25 for a pet staying the night. They didn't charge my card on Saturday but waited until Monday, when I received the charge, I didn't know when it was coming from, so I called the bank and canceled my card.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooftop terrace is amazing spot to drink fabulous mojito’s or sangria expertly made by the bar and gaze at the volcanoes Super comfy bed and pillows. The bathroom is new and are the shower head is amazing. The courtyard and grounds are impeccable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you to Manuel for your attentiveness and great restaurant tips. I can’t wait until next year for our return visit!

Cons: Nothing at all!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love this place! Such a great courtyard and garden area. I liked that it was a few minutes from the main square because it was like a little oasis away from the bustling tourists everywhere on the streets. The staff were so nice and helpful with transport as well. Can't wait to come back to hostal Antigueno!
8.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, hot showers, clean rooms, good breakfast, good wifi!
Cons: No dislikes
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is in a quiet corner of Antigua and the hostel was less buzzy then some of the others which I liked. I also appreciated them letting campers and overlanders stay (although I was neither). Spacious garden courtyard and a friendly ambience all round.
Cons: Several of the rooms (and some of the dorms) don't have windows: for me light and air are absolutely necessary. I asked them to change mine when they have me a windowless room and got a much more pleasant one, but watch out for this if it's important to you too: just ask to see the room first.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is set around a lovely garden that creates a soft outdoor atmosphere. That outdoor experience is pleasant during the warmth of the day but chilly in the high 60 degree evenings. The staff is more then helpful and the location is perfect. The hostel provides a basic breakfast of eggs, beans, or pancakes and a limited menu beyond breakfast. The chicken soap was delicious as was the nachos with chicken and beans. Bonus: The hostel has wonderful WiFi and the shower has hot water!
Cons: Since the temperature in February falls into the 60’s, the rooms are cold. Even a space heater would have helped. The sink faucet only provides cold water. The staff speak limited English and we speak limited Spanish. Thank you Google Translator. Neither of these limitations are a deal breaker so we will return next week.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is actually my 2nd time staying here, and I came back because of the value and comfort. The garden area is beautiful and a wonderful place to relax. The bed in the dorm room is comfortable and warm. The shower had a constant supply of hot water. The free breakfast was great- especially the pancakes! Above all, the staff were super friendly and helpful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden, lovely staff, and delicious breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, good showers, comfy beds. Second time staying here because it's a delightful place! Also, the staff are all 10/10!

Pros: Beautiful garden, breakfast included was very good. Room design and comfort level was very good. Quiet neighborhood! Didn’t use the tv at all but it was an old box tv. They had board games for us and brought candles and wine glasses when we bought one of the bottles of wine they sell at the desk.
Cons: I thought the breakfast was included but ended up paying a bit extra at checkout. Still worth it but not as outstanding of a value for price. Not in the hustle and bustle of downtown if that’s important to you.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old property. The staff were excellent and we loved the roof terrace.
Cons: Room slightly damp, I expect due to being a period property with limited ventilation. This did not change our overall experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa Encantada is a true gem - and I highly recommend it when visiting Antigua. Immediately upon entering the secured courtyard, you are transported to another place and a genteel era. The staff were AMAZING (Melvin at the front desk was EVERYTHING a concierge should be and more!!) My daughter and I had breakfast on the rooftop terrace each morning (wonderful views of the volcano and the mountainside) for about $15 USD for both of us, including coffee. Try the "Chapin" breakfast - it's "typical Guatemalan" and delicious!
Cons: The rooms in the back of the hotel are MUCH quieter than in the front. We stayed in room #10 on the second floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. They left fresh bottles of water in the room every day. There was also excellent toiletries available in the bathroom: shaving cream, razors, toothbrushes etc. The breakfast is included and it was delicious - served in the rooftop restaurant which is beautiful - Great service by Augustina. The hotel is small and quaint but we could use the Porta Hotel pool just down the road, we didn’t realise this when booking - it is also a lovely hotel with nice food and staff. To sum up, Casa Encantada is a beautiful hotel, well decorated in a great location - 5 minute walk from Parque Central. Also - Antigua is an unbelievable place, could stay forever.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed is super comfy! Breakfast in the rooftop was amazing!!!
Cons: The rooms with window to the street is a little noisy

Pros: Morning breakfast on the roof was wonderful. Augustina greeted us with a fantastic smile and service each morning. Our room was small, but charming and very comfortable with everything we needed.
Cons: The staff, although very friendly, were inconsistent in their ability to speak English. They could have been more knowledgeable about local restaurants, events, sights, transportation.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very charming. Small and personal. Helpful staff. Comfortable 4 poster bed with lovely linens, nice bathroom toiletries. Fridge in room. Wonderful breakfast on the roof. Added bonus is being able to use the pool/grounds and gym at the hotel across the street.
Cons: Windows need screens or else rooms (which have overhead fans) need A/C. Rooms hot without opening windows and we got lots of mosquito bites. Rooms on the small side--earplugs helpful for #2 which is on street side and noisy.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This small hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautifully decorated with antiques and is full of character. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful, especially Augustine, who served our breakfast on the attractive roof terrace and the breakfasts are delicious. The rooms and bathrooms are well equipped. We asked for a quiet room, which was fine, but a bit small with very few surfaces to put things.
Cons: The bedroom (No 1) was short of storage space, particularly flat surfaces for things.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Chez Daniel in Antigua Guatemala, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of La Merced Church and San Jose el Viejo Ruins. Featured amenities include luggage storage, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and owners. Spacious, bright rooms. Lovely central garden space. Supercomfy beds. Great showers. So, all the key things are covered. Then there's the french breakfast to-die-for, the off-road parking space, and quiet neighborhood. It's on the edge of town, but in practice it only means an extra couple of minutes walking to get to most places, and for others (like the amazing Samsara restaurant, and the Rainbow Cafe), it's really close. When we return to Antigua, this is where we'll come.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent welcome from Daniel and his wife very friendly and efficient staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great, quiet location. Perfect place to switch off and close enough to walk to all the attractions in Antigua. We’ve been before and will keep going back as it’s our favourite place to stay in Antigua!
Cons: Nothing really... the room was warm at night so maybe a fan would be good but not essential.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location but only a few minutes walk from down town. The staff were friendly and super helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow, this place is a gem! Loved everything about Chez Daniel. Room, bed and bathroom were huge. Beautifully furnished and finished. Open bedroom window and Volcán Agua is in your face. Daniel was super helpful and interesting to chat with. His staff, Veronica and Candy, very nice, attentive and professional. Desayuno was light, tasty and enjoyable. Location is on the edge of town, but nice restaurants nearby and really only 10 minute walk to center. Fabulous!
Cons: Can’t think of a thing.

Pros: The hotel, the staff, the breakfast, the views of the volcanoes, free use of kitchen, and the night quietness of the location were all outstanding. This has been my second time staying there and will continue do so. I highly recommend it.
Cons: If you are not used to walking, you might find it a little far to tourist locations. My wife are in our 70s and 80s and it was no problem doing the walk.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: + big and clean room + We could see the volcano Fuego erupting from our terace +Perfect breakfast + You can use the big kitchen +Walking distance to everything + Lovely stuff, helps with everything + Could leave our luggage in the room, while we stayed one night at the vulcano Thanx for all!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chez Daniel is spacious, spotless, quiet....and perfect. The attention to detail and guest satisfaction is superb. After 3 months of travel, this is the nicest place we have stayed (but not the priciest, by far). We are close to town but tucked in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle. This place is worth 10 stars!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located on a quiet street with a short walk to the Central Park, market, various shops and restaurants. Daniel, Veronica and staff were very friendly and so helpful and made us feel at home. Our large room on the upper level had a double and single bed, a desk, double wardrobes and dresser. The bathroom was extremely spacious and had a large bathtub with shower. We enjoyed the breakfasts of various delicious fresh fruits, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, croissants and baguettes with an assortment of jams. There was a interior courtyard beautifully landscaped with an abundance of trees, bushes and flowers where we could relax. I was surprised at all of the green spaces that Daniel had created to enrich the atmosphere! I would highly recommend Chez Daniel for your stay in Antigua.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large clean room, excellent breakfast, charming owner. Everything was perfect!
Cons: There is a ceiling window with no curtain in the room. The sun rises early in Guatemala, so if you are sensitive to light, you'll wake up too. Come prepared, bring a sleep mask!

Overview Reviews
Since its genesis, Casa Santo Domingo was the bastion of one of the grandest convents of America: the one that sheltered the followers of the order of Santo Domingo de Guzmn. It is an important part of the beautiful colonial reliquary that preserves in its bowels the treasures from the baroque period of ancestral America. Each corner of this house, each stone, each image and each piece that composes this Hotel Museum becomes a lost page in time, which one by one is joined forming a beautiful chapter of the grand book of our history. This innovative Hotel-Museum offers 130 rooms each with unique and special characteristics. The decoration includes works of art from renowned Guatemalan fine art artists and handmade textiles with traditional-contemporary designs. Offering the finest, we provide TV LCD with cable, telephone with voicemail, minibar, safety deposit box, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, magnification lighted vanity mirror, hypo-allergenic pillows (on request), bathrobes, twice-daily housekeeping service, chimney, high velocity internet, terrace, balcony, tub, jacuzzi or sauna (depending on selected room type). In our main restaurant "Refectorio del Prior" we prepare recipes under the concept of fusion cuisine, mixing ingredients from different countries and regions. Pros: Excellent facilities and it is just amazing to stay in a historic building. Also, loved the guided tours to the museum inside the hotel.
Cons: The payment experience was pretty lousy... they asked to charge you the room fee plus 100 dollars in case you consume something... when I did checkout, it took them like 15 mins to return me these 100 dollars... too much time waiting for this...

Pros: It is a beautiful property with the most adorable courtyard and srunning views from the rooftops. We really liked the setting and also the service was very good and attentive.
Cons: Some of the rooms are accessed from the restaurant. In the evenings it felt a little awkward entering the room straight from an upscale restaurant. Also, the noise isolation is not good, we could hear everyone talking in the other rooms, including the alarms and the outdoing conversations.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was exquisite. Unique, with many nooks and crannies to relax in. Temperature was perfect. The staff was unexcelled and met our every need. The restaurant is world-renown and I know why (after having sampled most of the items on the menu). The hotel also gave excellent off-premises restaurant recommendations and excursion ideas. This is an A+++ hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, hotel grounds, innovative food. Order the risotto, it's amazing.
Cons: The only bad thing was that the pool was in the middle of the restaurant and unusable after 11 am. Otherwise the staff was amazing and the location, slightly off the beaten path so quiet, the hotel itself stunning and romantic and the restaurant--just delicious. However, it is not cheap. I did think it was worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was absolutely gorgeous, with a comfy bed, giant bath tub, beautiful views of the mountains, and SILENT at night. I especially loved the sage-scented bath salts. Everything exquisite. Location was like a block outside of the center, which made it super-close to everything, yet quieter and more charming than if it had been right in the middle.
Cons: Everything was perfect.

Pros: gardens are fabulous
Cons: room opened straight into restaurant

Cons: Internet wasn't very good on the second level.
7.0 Good
Pros: Cleanliness and location
Cons: The room was nothing as advertised. We were expecting a jacuzzi and the room was pretty basic. Very hot room. I feel like it was over-advertised (to not say falsely-advertised)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely. Staff very very friendly and helpful (helping organizing trips, putting special meals together for the trip. Breakfast is in a beautiful courtyard.
Cons: Screens should be added to the room as there are mosquitoes. The window face the hallway and courtyard, which means you lose privacy when you open them. There is no air condition, so opening windows is a must.... maybe at least at a fan in each room. But again, hotel is lovely and would stay there again.

Pros: The room was lovely. Nice furnishings, comfortable beds and very clean. The courtyard was also nice and the terrace was a great place to enjoy breakfast. It is located in a quiet area while still a fairly short walk to all services and attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were several options for breakfast and 24 hour coffee. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: May be difficult to sleep in as rooms are facing the courtyard and people are moving about for breakfast at 7 am. Not an issue for us however.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommend Cacao Boutique. The staff were very friendly and helpful, room was nice and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so kind and helpful. We had to leave the hotel at 04:30 for a hike and they prepared us some fruit and coffee to bring with us. The room we stayed is was also great. It had three beds so we each had our own bed and it was a really unique setup with the loft. The steps were steep so might not be suitable for very young children.
Cons: Really no complaints!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The service was incredible. Melina and Oscar are very attentive and so helpful. Both helped me arrange transportation to Atitlán and Guatemala City. Taking breakfast on the rooftop was a treat. At first I thought the WiFi signal wasn’t great, but I used it with ease after jumping on and off a tethering device I had brought. Melina, in particular, was gracious and caring. I had come down with food poisoning and she checked in on me to see how I was feeling, even changing my transportation options to Atitlán. The location is tranquil and about a 10-minute walk from the bustle of Central Park. Be sure to hike Cerro de Cruz which is 10 minutes nearby to get a view of the city. Also nearby are several tiendas where you can buy snacks and water. Highly recommend.
Cons: The lighting in the room wasn’t good. I felt like I was staying in a hole or dark tunnel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room is a dream. The best I've stayed in so far. Lots of space, a private beautiful garden, a very comfortable and big bed, a fireplace and an "upstairs" bathroom. What more do you want!
Cons: We expected way more from the breakfast, especially from a pricey hotel. There was barely anything on the plate and the quality wasn't the best either.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved every thing about this little slice of heaven. A definite recommendation, especially the room we stayed in (4) with the patio! Wonderful, staff as well, making our stay that much sweeter.
Cons: No sound proofing chatty guests
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, large room, comfy bed, great location 10m walk from plaza, great breakfast. Room was private and quiet and beautiful, I will definitely return!

Pros: Hotel is wonderful, excellent location, the staff is so nice and Kind (especially José at the front desk); everything was wonderful. Breakfast is also delicious!
Cons: Rooms are not sound proof, and we had the luck of having a kid in the room next to us, and he kept throwing tantrums so we didn't get much rest, that was annoying
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and owners of this hotel really care about it, and it shows. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the common areas are just fabulous and very comfortable. Coffee and cake served at 5pm every day is wonderful after a day sightseeing and the breakfast was great too. Staff, particularly the man who assisted at breakfast and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, everything on your doorstep.
Cons: The initial room we were given was very tight space for a four night stay, however we asked to move after the first night and were accommodated with no problem. Downstairs rooms are dark, but that can’t be helped. Female staff at reception came across as unfriendly, a marked difference to the male staff unfortunately and I say that as a female!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, extended services (we book a couple of activities from the reception) friendly staff, interior decoration.
Cons: No air-condition, no fridge in the room, medium variety in breakfast

We arrived to Antigua on our anniversary and Lucrecia in reception was incredibly helpful and nice gave us a upgrade to a king bed as we did not see the option on this site. Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous property, staff very nice and helpful. Close location.
Cons: They charged us for breakfast and told us that it was “included”. I couldn’t figure out why the price was higher than what booking.com mentioned until we received the itemized bill at the end. We took advantage of breakfast for one day so I didn’t dispute it but it was slightly annoying that they would sneak in the extra charge like that without asking if we wanted it or not.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem of a hotel. With only 24 rooms, they make you feel like you are a VIP. I look forward to staying here when I come back!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel with tonnes of attention to detail. I was upgraded too which is always an added bonus.
Cons: I booked this hotel for the pool and also because it has a roof terrace. Ha big now been to Antigua several times, one of my favourite pastimes is to sit contemplating the volcano views from a rooftop....... However I was informed on arrival that the rooftop was closed.

6.3 Good
Pros: A quirky, old fashioned hotel. Our room had lovely views from the balcony of the volcano. Staff were very helpful when we complained about the noisy club next door, and moved us to another hotel.
Cons: There is an extremely loud venue next door with five different bars. Loud music until at least 1 am, Thurs to Sat. I doubt there are any rooms unaffected.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location is superb! its surrounded by bars and restaurants and a 1 minute walk to city center. I reserved a car for airport pick up and the guy was waiting, on time and had a pleasant personality. The rooms are large and spacious.
Cons: I purchased a triple room but when I got there they gave me a double and would not change the room. Yes, I had a friend who flaked out so the double was cool, but if I paid extra money for a double room, this should have been accommodated! The bathrooms are small with no ventilation, so it carries a musty smell and some days our bath towels were dirty. While the location is perfect, it can get kinda of loud at night because of the bars. I would not return there for a stay. There are better hotel with breakfast included that you can get for that price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the Hotel. The staff was excellent and everything was super clean. We really enjoyed the pool!
Cons: I was traveling with my mother(older) , so there were too many stairs and unlevel surfaces. I realize that this can't be changed, but other travelers with seniors should be aware.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is great, right by the park. Very good that they offer parking for free a few blocks away.
Cons: We had to leave the same day we checked in but that was fortunate because the room (room no. 5) was so much affected by dampness and smelled like mold so it would have been impossible to sleep there. We only spent a few minutes in the room but even then it was too much.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, sauna, swimming pool, the location.
Cons: Outdated bathroom and WiFi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great people and a perfect location. No problems with noise even at the start of Semana Santa.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was beautiful and amazing. Very clean and so enjoyable to wander through.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, clean location. The pool area was great (could use a few more lounge chairs though). The room was huge and the views were spectacular. The location is a 1 minute walk to the central plaza. Check in/out was simple and easy. This is a great place to go with a family.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly and the location was great
Cons: The owners advertised a triple room and when we arrived they gave us a double room. When we complained that we had ordered the triple room the owners instructed staff to add an extra single bed into our room. Extremely disappointed in this hotel and their ownership. I called Guatemala home for 3 yrs and come back every year and this is the first time I have ever experienced this sorta of thing when paying this kind of money for the room. Pictures below show our room, and the staff moving another bed into the room turning a double room into a triple room instead of giving us the room we had paid for. I showed the front desk the photos of the triple room with measurements advertised on the website and she said the photos on the website were not of their hotel, and that they could make a double a triple room. Ownership did give us breakfast the next morning. There were three of us in our party and we were there on a medical mission so we had a ton of baggage/medical supplies. We were not simply looking for an extra bed we were looking and PAID for the extra space so we could fit our supplies in the room. Ownership has proven itself untrustworthy and there are much better options close to the park. For first time travelers to Guatemala highly advise looking elsewhere, especially if you do not speak Spanish. Staff are powerless to address client concerns and ownership hide behind the phone so good chance they will try to rip more folks off.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is absolutely perfect, the swimmingpool was very nice and the whole hotel was so beautiful. We loved it here and could not have asked for a lovelier way to finish our vacation. We really enjoyed our stay and would definetely stay here again!
Cons: The noise. The hotel really could use some soundproofing, both because of the very loud bar next door and because we could hear litterarly every word the americans in the room next door was staying. Ear plugs are recommended!
