Everything was perfect
It was average
The location seemed ok when we booked. When we arrived it was tucked so far down back streets taxi couldn't find it and we had to walk. This happened in 3 different taxis which isn't great when it's a dark and very out of the way area down many back streets. Also didn't offer airport transfer as stated in the facilities and staff wouldn't book us a taxi to the airport, we had to walk 1.5km at 4.30 am to a main road
Great value for the money - comfortable quiet rooms and super close to the river taxi!
The beds were pretty hard (common for SE Asia) and the linens were a bit stained, but overall we had a great stay.
I like the proximity
The noise coming out of the drilling and wiring in the building
Don't believe the ninnies who say this hotel is difficult to find, and down a narrow and dangerous looking alleyway. In fact it's located in a maze of sidestreets and alleys that make the location interesting and characterful. If you get a local sim card you'll find it easily on google maps. It's close to loads of interesting areas, and people on the street are friendly, or ignore you as they go about their business. The hotel looks 1960s built and is a little bit rough around the edges, but the rooms are spacious and clean, and you won't get a cheaper room with a balcony with a view of the river. And the rooftop restaurant and bar have spectacular views, and pretty cheap alcohol and good food. No other bar in Bangkok sells such relatively cheap alcohol and food and boasts such a spectacular view. If you want a slightly unconventional experience, and great value, and like being in an area not overrun with tourists, where you can actually see everyday Thai people getting on with their lives, this is the best hotel in Bangkok!
No shampoo in the bathroom, just soap. No Fox Sport on the TV, just Thai channels. But what the hell? Bring shampoo and a book!
