9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s very clean and comfortable. There is a kitchen you can use and a vegetable market right around the corner. Also only a minute away is one of the best bakeries we had in almost a year of traveling. The owners are very nice and helpful. We never met ecuadorian people who talked for us spanish beginners so slowly and clearly.
Cons: It’s a bit far from the center but totally doable. We walked some days 4-6 times to the center and back.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Pretty Building, the owners are very very lovely, laundry service, the kitchen is very good, rooms are big, but a bit loud at night, there's a market three times a week only 1 block away. Would highly recommend!

Pros: Excellent service by the staff, they explain everything very good! You can book activities for the cheapest price, 1 day in advance. Best hostel yet in our 6 weeks trip!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best places I have stayed in South-Amerika. The owners are very caring, help you with everything; book tours, do laundry, tips. The place is very big, clean and quiet (thats why I chose it). Its near the city center (5 min walk). There is a kitchen you can use to cook (do keep an eye of your things as somebody stole my noodles). As other people said, Its NOT a party hostel. So if you want to go and smoke weed in your room (thnx for the smell neighbours) please dont go here!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean room,. Nice hot shower. Comfortable beds. Amazing staff who have is great advice to enjoy baños.
Cons: Room light was a bit dim and there was no lamp.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Victor, the owner was fantastic. He gave us all the information we needed when checking in, a little map plus a print out sheet with information for what buses to get where to see the sights in Banos, how much everything was, how long it takes to get there. Everything was in detail. It made it very easy to plan our days there. We stayed an extra night in Banos because there is so much to do there. Victor is able to book the activities for you also which is handy. Room was very big, and there's a kitchen well equipped. We cooked dinner and had breakfast each day there. Location is perfect. Only a 2 minute walk to the centre but in a quiet area also. Thanks very much Victor. Chris and Eva
Cons: Everything was great

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view of Baños is excellent, it feels safe. The owners are really friendly people, willing to tell stories, the breakfast is good, with bread and jam made at the property and Ecuadorian coffee. The rooms are comfortable, is a great place to disconnect yourself from the city while still being close to it. I think is a great place for a family and adventurers.
Cons: While I was ok with it, there is a walk (around 10-15 minutes, going up the mountain) to reach the property, my mother didn't like that much (also, you have to plan around that, because you would not like to do this walk many times a day). Like I said, if you plan for this, it should be not an issue.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Casa Amarilla is a grest place to stay with great views over Banos and the surtounding hills. The rooms are comfortable and we loved the outdoor seating area with sofas and hammock seats. Darwin, the owner, was always on hand to offer helpful advice about tours, walks etc. and cooked tasty meals too. The homemade jam at breakfast was delicious! It was worth the walk up and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff/owners, very helpful with tours and what to do in Baños. Thank you very much!! And you have a pretty nice view over Baños from up there.
Cons: It is pretty tough to reach from Baños, so going back and forth from/to the Hostel before and after different activities or tours is not easy at all. However, you can also store luggage at the Casa Amarilla City Hostel during the day (which is in Baños city)!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great view, great hosts, warm atmosphere ...it totally worth the climb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s in a beautiful location. The owner is an exceptional host. It’s a bit hard to find and you must walk 1/2 mile up a steep mountainside trail, but the view and hospitality are completely worth it!
7.9 Good
Pros: Kind hosts. Beautiful view.
Cons: Long steep non-paved road to Casa Amarilla (10-20 min walk from town), so we didn't use tur fascilities that much.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Homemade breakfast was delicious and view was incredible!
Cons: It is very far up the mountain which we weren’t expecting. It’s a hike to get back which was tiring every time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy atmosphere, comfortable room, amazing views and super friendly owners. A home away from home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best place we stayed at on our trip to Ecuador! The hike up to the guesthouse was challenging but absolutely worth it! We were also prepared for the hike, based on other reviews. Breakfast was delicious, and the views added to the overall experience!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is a bit of a walk to get to the accommodation but it is definitely worth the trip: nice people and very quiet.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very glad I chose to stay here in Baños. I did not want a party hostel, and this place was very chill, quiet, & relaxing. When I was there, the hostel wasn’t super social, mostly couples, but everyone was friendly. There is a SPA at this hostel- my massage was $25 for 60 minutes, and surprisingly good! The beds were clean, and very comfortable, with charging stations and lights at each bedside, as well as lockers. The bathrooms were very clean, and had hot showers with good water pressure (what a luxury in Ecuador!). Breakfast was nice; crepes, bread, some cheese & ham, coffee. WiFi was fast. I found the employees to be kind and helpful, and it was really lovely relaxing in the hammocks in the front garden. The location is a bit out of the center, but only a 10 minute walk from the heart of it all (yes-there is a hill involved, but it isn’t too bad!). As a solo female, this area felt quite safe to me, and a taxis are super cheap if you did not want to walk at night- a worthy trade off to avoid other hostels’ beer pong parties and night club noise!
Cons: No complaints!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner gived good explenation about the things to do around and the tours. The breakfast is really great. Wifi worked well. Next to the stairs to hike up to casa del arbol
Cons: Only thing was , that sometimes, i felt a bit of presure to book all the trips trough the hostel.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and friendly! Good breakfast and great staff.
Cons: For its price there is nothing to dislike. Exceeds expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was exceptional. I had made a mistake in our booking and the receptionist, can’t recall his name was super helpful in fixing my confusion with the booking/reservation. He couldn’t have been more understanding and helpful. He made us feel at home. The next day we had booked an excursion with another company and he helped us when we were having some trouble getting them to pick us up. Wish I had known they offer the same tours. Breakfast was delicious even my picky teens loved the breakfast and asked for seconds!!!!
Cons: There was nothing not to like everything was perfect. Home away from home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personnel was lovely, always ready to give a lot of information, details, help plan your time. Being sick far away from home, and having staff be extra nice to you is a big plus in my book
4.2 Okay
Cons: U can't use the wifi or the kitchen after checked out (11 am) and when I complained about it, I got kicked out. Staff were not nice, rooms were okay but nothing specials. Empty hostels, not social at all

Pros: Breakfast was great. Staff was super helpful and very friendly....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are lovely! The plants, aquatic features and scenery are really nice. The staff were friendly and fun and always helpful. We enjoyed a few hours in the gameroom while waiting for our guide and during a rainy evening. Good family time. The breakfasts were ample and fresh. Our laundry was done fairly quickly. The guide the staff found for us was amazing! We used her for 3 days.
Cons: We had two connecting rooms. One of our showers had no curtain. The bathroom floor became slippery and soaked. The rooms received no direct sunlight. They smelled of damp wood. One TV had no remote though we were told one remote worked all TVs. I'm sure if we asked that could've been resolved.

5.0 Okay
Pros: - big nice room
Cons: - really dirty spa area - absolutely overpriced - very limited breakfast considering the high price - worst hotel on our 3week ecuador trip
6.3 Good
Cons: Fittings dated - old small screen TV no heating 1deg overnight bit cold. Whilst location is good. . Disadvantage is the car park near rooms review engines started at 4am in the morning ..
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel is in a great location
Cons: My hotel room was dated and it smelled like mildew. My bathroom was funky too. Brown tiled-floors and yellow wall-paper, sink, toilet, and shower. For over $100 a night, I expected a lot more from this hotel in Baños. the spa facilities were dated. their advertisement did not match the actual hotel. The walls were paper-thin. This is no luxury spa/hotel! I hate writing negative reviews about businesses but this was a rip-off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Americano coffee was very tasty
Cons: More coffee.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Although the breakfast is said to be good, its not completely Heart Healthy and the staff is willing to cook up a Vegan dish to satisfy us with our diet choice.
Cons: The breakfast should be more healthy and have more Vegan Choices and Vegan Friendly. Its the FAD of the day and could assist Vegan, a fast growing group of people, to chose the hotel for their accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked this hotel because we have previously stayed here and the location of the hotel was good. The waterfall is directly behind and we had a view of it form our room. The Thermal spa is walking distance and cost 2 dollars and a must do. The food was tasty and staff very helpful.
Cons: We would recommend a fan for the room for air circulation.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Hotel location was good
Cons: The hotel was totally full, the bungalow they gave us is nothing like in the pictures. The bungalow doesn't worth the money just try anything elsewhere.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is great. Short walk to town.
Cons: Rooms are old and overdue for renovation Not many options for breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: Room clean, good location
Cons: Way too pricey for what it offers. Completely lacking charm. Breakfast buffet pretty much a chaos, constantly empty and nothing cleaned up. Hotel full due to Easter weekend, but this should be managed by a 4-star-hotel, instead it seemed they just gave up.

Pros: Friendly staff. Great location. Very good breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good service
Cons: Great place to relax and great people
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was bright, clean and felt like a room in a home rather than a guest house. The bed was very comfortable and it was blissfully quiet.
Cons: Only stayed one night so I didn't get the opportunity to meet the staff. So really can't comment but everything else was great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Actual owner or manager was pleasant and helpful. Room was adequate and clean. Very quiet and an easy wall to all the action in Banos.
Cons: Owner's apparent son was lounging on a sofa when I arrived and appeared irritated that he had to deal with checking me in. Perfectly ok to have a family run hotel, but this youngster needs to learn about how to greet customers. Started off with bad impression.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. The bed was so comfortable and the view from the room was breathtaking. I'll be definitely going back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room we had was spectacular (on the rooftop), staff were very friendly, breakfast was nice everyday.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast wasn’t bad. Staff very attentive and friendly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Aldea Real is situated in a gorgeous spot overlooking the river and facing a verdant mountain side. The view and the power of the rushing water is breathtaking. The room was neat, clean and well appointed and a balcony provided great access to the view. The place is managed by an amicable young couple who were able to converse in English as well as Spanish, which came in handy.
Cons: While Aldea Real is in a gorgeous spot, it is not particularly close to town; it is about a 8 minute cab ride away. That said, a cab ride is $2, and I felt the view was worth it. My one recommendation would be the need for dehumidifiers to remove moisture from the air to keep mold at bay during the rainy season.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: hammock, comfy pillows, and beautiful view
Cons: shower wasn't very warm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed our stay here. The views were gorgeous and we were able to book all the activities from the hotel. I would definitely return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely quiet hotel in a great location on the river with beautiful views down the valley. The breakfast was excellent and served in a bright room overlooking the garden. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. Easy parking if you have a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff . Room was very beautiful and large and had the most amazing view and loved the jacuzzi . Place is peaceful and clean
Cons: I liked everything! Perfect stay
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was our splurge for the trip to Ecuador and was well worth it. This hotel right on the river allows beautiful views of the valley in Banos and the rushing river. The room had amazing views, was super clean, and the breakfast that was included was seriously amazing (the flufffiest pancakes we've ever had). They came in and cleaned the room and even folded all my clothes for me! The balcony with the hammock did not disappoint and the staff was so friendly and helpful
Cons: It was a little ways from the main area of Banos but easily walkable - allowed for a more tranquil experience outside of the town center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything inside had been recently updated with outstanding taste
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breathtaking room with a hot tub and facing the river. One of my top hotels during my Ecuador stay!! Servuce was impeccable.

Pros: It's a bit of a walk from town, but the hostel itself is really great. Great kitchen Good meals during the week Lots of info Computers to plan trips
Cons: The check in and check out need improvements
7.1 Good
Pros: Good value for money good breakfast nice rooms a bit humid
Cons: Humidity in the rooms
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hostels was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Banos. Staff super friendly, rooms large size and bed and pillows very comfortable. The included breakfast (crossiants, coffee, banana, juice) was delicious and very substantial for a day of activities. You can even add on a fried egg for only $1. Mon/Wed they have free dinners which is a great way to socialise as well as good on a travellers budget. Highly recommend staying here! They even have a few house dogs who love a pat and a belly scratch.
Cons: Nothing! Great place to stay in Banos
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice common areas, with hammocks and lovely garde, friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast was very small just two croissants and a baby banana with jam and hot drink. There are more options but you need to pay extra.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Outdoor space is huge and beautiful
Cons: The staff specially at the reception are not professional. The hostel policy is to receive $10 as a security deposit which is not mention in the website. When I asked the receptionist the reason for $10 deposit, he said “it’s to guarantee the guest don’t steal anything from the hostel!!!!!! Dorm is big but very busy! The five bed room dorm was okay but my bed was two steps (no exaggeration!!!) from the bathroom!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The community room is really cozy and a good place to meet new friends. The bikes you can rent from the hostel cost 5$ which is great and the cheapest option in Baños.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great hostel! Would definitely recommend it. The vibe is super chill and there is a great living room / dining area where you can hang out, drink a tea, watch a movie or play pool! Located at the edge of the center so you won't have any noise. Also very nice breakfast!
Cons: Only the room was a little bit small, all the rest was great!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's a convenient hostel that's a young international crowd. We stayed there with three smaller kids and it was totally fine.
Cons: Because of the young crowd it might get a bit louder sometimes.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nice bar area and breakfast was basic but ok. Hit coffee
Cons: I cannot understand the good reviews for this place - can only assume some of the other rooms are better. The dorm room I stayed in was disgusting - smelt of damp and mould, my sheets even felt damp! The bathroom (one toilet and shower between 10) was tiny and absolutely disgusting; the worst I’ve seen in my 3 months in South America. No soap either. I stayed one night of the 3 I’d booked and then left for another (much nicer, and similarly priced) hostel. There are loads of options in Baños - don’t stay here!!!

5.8 Okay
Pros: Not far from bus station and city center
Cons: Room and bed very small. I think hosel also smaller than I think. For the room is very small, even don't have enough to put Backpack for 5 persons (we are Backpacker, everyone has big backpack).
6.7 Good
Pros: The bed was comfort.
Cons: the room is very small.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfy beds, cheap prices, OK WiFi but better in common areas. Great location, walking distance to everything but far enough to block out the nightly music from bars. The lady who runs the hostel speaks perfect English and is very helpful to organise activities and give info on buses etc.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit smelly the whole time, e en with windows open. Needs a thorough scrub. People in my dorm were quoted different prices. Can only use the kitchen from 2pm.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good value and filling breakfast for 2 dollars, with 3 options to choose from. Staff knowledgeable on local transport and activities. One block from Alfaro street so couldnt be closer to the bars,3 blocks from bus station so location excellent and view of the cascada in town.
Cons: A larger smoking area with 2 more chairs and another carpa would improve the garden area, but nothing negative to report
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Very noisy hostel at night / some rude guests
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff was friendly and cooperative.
Cons: The curtains in the room were slightly damaged, the towels we were given haven't been washed properly. The shower would've been ok, but unfortunately there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. We were shown another room, which looked cleaner overall, but the poor cleanliness of the towels and the blankets led us to cancel our reservation. I have to say, that the staff was friendly and accepted our decision.

Pros: Helpful staff that even let us check out a day early because of changes in our trip Excellent location
Cons: A bit run down.
7.1 Good
Pros: Well located in the centre of Banos. Rooms are pretty small you so you shouldn't bring more than one large bag.
Cons: The rooms are very small, much smaller than on the photos. The breakfast options are also very limited. Parking lot is in the gateway of the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the corner balcony but it was loud being right in the city. It was a lot of fun watching the city activities from our balcony.
Cons: The noise
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very well located, few steps from the main square and the street with plenty of restaurants and stores. The view from the outside corridors is very pleasant (mountain, forest, church, etc)

Pros: Location in downtown was convenient and parking

2.9 Mediocre
Cons: Room not like photos- very small. Very noisy. Couldn’t sleep a wink
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huillacuna was a great place to stay in Banos because it was toward the edge of town but still within walking distance of the center. This meant it was a bit more peaceful at night than if we had stayed elsewhere. We were also close to some amazing restaurants and plenty of hiking trails. Breakfast was basic but filling and the beds were comfortable. One of the best things it that the hostel itself contained many beautiful paintings, sculptures, and antiques. Everything was visually pleasing. The staff was also friendly, helpful, and spoke some English. We paid less for the room than advertised, too. Overall, it was one of our most favorite places to stay in Ecuador.
Cons: The shower took a long time to heat up. The hostel is also across the street from a playground, so it doesn't have the best views.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything, great showers, good WiFi, comfy bed, good atmosphere, helpful staff, excellent breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think this is the most charming hostal in Baños. It is festively decorated, with arts and antiques everywhere. It's a short walk to Los thermes and the cascade, but it is also nice and quiet. The breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The art and vintage objects that fill this hostel make it an absolutely wonderful place to stay. There's so much to look at and it's a great place to spend a rainy day playing cards. Hostel staff had good restaurant recommendations and offered a daily room clean. I would definitely stay here again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The art is beautiful and interesting, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are wonderful. It's only a short walk to the cathedral, market, restaurants and shops, but is on a quiet, peaceful street.
Cons: I know it isn't common in Ecuador, but a small bath mat by the shower would be nice. And though it wasn't a big problem, they don't accept credit cards.
7.9 Good
Pros: Thankfully this is a 3 minute walk from the main square so you don't hear all the music and people late at night, as Baños is tiny bit loud! So this is great for people wanting sleep! Beautiful hostel, super friendly and helpful staff - they sorted out activities including riding, something I can't recommend enough with the company they use. No problems at all with wifi and lovely hot shower. Free water too.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location near the main hot pool that you can walk to enjoy whole night. all staff are friendly and nice.
Cons: all good except the weather in banos

Pros: It was clean and comfortable near the hot springs.
Cons: I had to listen to the TV of the room next door till late in the night. Not the fault of the hotel but it meant I didn't sleep much. I also didn't have hot water but as I had just come from the hot springs I did care.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We appreciated the cleanliness of the facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor was unique and pretty.
Cons: The windows would not lock and made me a little nervous.
6.3 Good
Pros: The girl who has a baby from the reception is very friendly, helpful and polite.
Cons: Room is more or less OK to stay for 1 night, but it was too expensive for what it was. Breakfast should be improved: the way it is served (slow, nobody explains how it works, all tables were full of dirty dishes, so we have started to clean the table by ourselves and search for clean dishes) and, of course, the food itself - poor offer and the fruits were in a bad condition. When we have check-in there was only 1 towel, despite the reservation was for 2 people and they said it was the last room. Initially there was no apologies, just some explanations. Kindly note, that if there is a mistake from the hotel side, the apology should be the first thing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and generous ! Very close to the center and at the same time in a very quiet zone. Bonus: We had a view on a waterfall!
Cons: Room is very spacious but not a lot of places to leave stuff when travelling with backpacks. Also bathroom could be a little more clean and with extra towels as the floor got wet every time

Pros: Kevin and Lisbeth who work here were so helpful and friendly.
Cons: Bathroom is very small and outdated.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Hot tub was relaxing and enjoyable aspect of the property, and staff were all friendly.
Cons: The walls of this hotel seemed very thin, and we constantly heard the guests in the rooms next to us. They were very loud coming in from a night of drinking next door, and none of us slept very well in our own room because of their drunken inconsideration & loud conversations.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the fireplace in the room, which the staff lit for us one night. Loved the bathtub for two. Loved the property and grounds--gorgeous!
Cons: Did not like that the spa rooms were next to the pool, so that when kids were in the pool, our massages were disturbed by the noise.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All staff were very friendly, especially Mario in the reception, who was very attentive
Cons: The first night we got the room facing the road and the noise was unbearable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place was absolutely incredible. There are a TON of hotels in Banos, but this one is regarded as one of (if not the) best available. The grounds are stunning, with a lot of flora and even peacocks. The view of the mountains is beyond breath-taking. The staff is super friendly, and accommodating. And the complimentary breakfast was a delicious buffet style situation with optional freshly made omelets. I'd love to stay again!
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nice spa, some of the staff excellent (Mario, Anna, restaurant staff, luggage folks).
Cons: We found front desk manager incredibly rude. Rooms are dark and musty some are directly on loud road. Carpets are filthy and smoke detector disconnected in our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and gardean are truly anazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and warm staffs. Everyone is lovely and helpful
7.5 Good
Pros: Our waiter Our room
Cons: I’m very upset
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was newly remodeled. The bathroom was massive with huge Jacuzzi and separate shower. The Rom updates brighten the room. The bedding is great and the views stunning. I could here the river rushing by at night. You wake to the chirping of birds! My reservation request for extra towels and pillows was addressed prior to my arrival. I love this resort. The property, spa, restaurant and rooms are stunning. The restaurant food, presentation and service is very good. The landscaping is stunning. Laundry was returned the same day and very affordable which is really important when traveling cross country. The pool and surroundings are lovely.
Cons: I've stayed here 6 times in the last 5 years. During this visit and the previous year the rooms filled with smoke when the fireplace was lit. Even after requesting a resolution the fireplace was never addressed and was unusable throughout our stay. Our room #40 was beautiful and at the far end of the property. There were no lights leading to the room so after we were left in the room by the staff after check in there was no way to get back to the lobby or restaurant that ight. There were no instructions in the room for contacting the front desk, for room service or anything else. During our 2nd or 3rd day at the resort a request for towels, ice and soda was completely ignored. The property management is not meeting the standards of previous visits.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mario from reception was amazing. He was super helpful. Love him.
Cons: I dont have any negatives.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: cleanliness, comfort and at a perfect distance from the town center. the facilities looked interesting although we only got to use the pool which was heated and very clean.
Cons: we got back to the hotel at 3 am on saturday, the gates were closed, the staff member in charge wasnt around. we had to wait 30 min until a guest inside went to look for someone who could help us in.
