Overview

Opposite the leaning Reichenturm tower, the Best Western Plus Hotel Bautzen, Bautzen, Germany, sits in the old town with inviting rooms that look over the rooftops or the Spree valley, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour sauna and mini-gym, five bright meeting rooms, and bicycles to hire for exploring. Down in the convivial restaurant, Saxon dishes and a family Sunday brunch come with local live music, and the bar serves drinks late into the night. Pastel old-town houses and the market square are a leisurely stroll away. Bautzen is nicknamed the City of Towers for the spires and bastions that crown its hill above the River Spree. Old stone ramparts ring a maze of cobbled lanes, the hilltop Ortenburg castle looks out over the river bend, and the town is a centre of the Sorbs, a Slavic people whose language still appears on its street signs. River paths and the lush Spree Valley invite an easy ride or walk.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praise the hotel's excellent location near the city center and main attractions, making it ideal for exploring the area. The staff is frequently described as friendly and helpful, contributing positively to the overall experience. Many guests enjoy the breakfast, noting its variety and quality. Several reviews highlight spacious rooms as a plus. However, noise from nearby clubs and the street, especially at night, is a common complaint, and the lack of air conditioning leads to discomfort during warmer periods.
