Super friendly staff, easy parking, clean rooms and close to public transport. Great value for money!
This is a little gem of a hotel situated very close to Tiergarten S Bahn station so making travel to/from all the main attractions of Berlin simple - they also sell the travel tickets. We had room 209 which is on the ground floor. It was spacious, clean and very quiet. Our friends were in rooms 210 and 211. These are the only 3 rooms in this part of the hotel so we effectively had our own wing. Our rooms were next to reception and the breakfast room where we had a great breakfast every morning - consisted mainly of a cold buffet with a small choice of hot food as well. It was all fresh and accompanied by as much tea/coffee as you wanted. The staff in this hotel are simply superb right from the front desk through to the breakfast waitresses/waiters. One of the nice touches is the linen napkins on the table - what a change from the usually thin paper ones you get in most hotels these days. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them and all this without being intrusive or over the top - they get 5* from me. All in all this is one of the nicest hotel I have stayed in for some time and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again on a return to Berlin. If you're planning a trip to Berlin then give the Hotel Hansablick a try - you won't be disappointed.
A minor point was soft pillows - personal preference I like a bit more substance, but this is no way detracts from my stay.
Friendly and competent staff, nice sitting area. The breakfast was ok if you eat processed meat.
This room made me worry about rate inflation at booking. The hotel had an 8.9 but I'd rate it more as 7.2 The stay was not bad, but it was far from comfotable. The room was spacious but spartanly furnished, with outdated furniture, one pillow only, thin comforter. The ceiling was peeling off, the shower was blocked, with water rising quickly. The toilet seat was of poor quality and not exactly aligned to the toilet. The towels were small and coarse. The TV was placed in an awkward position. The room also had an awful smell of some of these ambient scents which was cheap and annoying. Even opening the balcony doors for half an hour in winter didn't get rid of the smell. The rooms were not cleaned for the three days we stayed there. For the price I have stayed in much better, fancy hotels in Berlin. Chose this one based on reviews and because it was the only one which had twin beds, but will not be staying again.
Location was on a quiet street in a residential area with on street parking (free) within walking distance to an S-bahn station. Staff was professional, attentive and available 24 hours. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was roomy and water pressure in the shower was great. Breakfast has a nice variety of hot and cold items offered and it was nice to have a variety of hot drinks (coffee or tee) to choose from.
It is an older building, so the rooms aren’t quite soundproof and we could hear noise from the neighboring room but it was fairly low and not enough to disturb us. Just something to be aware of, but I would stay here again, as everything else was top notch!
