Great location in Brooklyn
The staff at Mccarren were fantastic. Check in was fast and efficient even though I was checking in at 2am. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and value for money is great compared to other hotels in the area.
The lighting is a little stark but this is a minor thing...very minor!
Friendly staff, clean accommodations, excellent location.
The room is a bit small and it’s very basic.
Very comfortable bed, and very courteous staff.
The maintenance of the facility was lacking. Our shower knob was broken, and the hand held shower head wouldn't work, despite asking for service. The frosting on the bathroom window was peeling, as was some of the wall paper. We also found a random metal shelf above our fridge?
The location is great and I could tell that at certain points throughout history it has been a nice place to stay but it has not been well maintained. Textiles throughout the room, pool, and common areas were torn and frayed. Broken furniture and hardware has been either ignored or haphazardly repaired with exposed nails and other such strange methods. I stayed here for the pool and was rarely able to use it. The pool area was a nightclub populated shoulder to shoulder by drunk people who had bought day passes. Bed wasn't comfortable and everything in the room felt constantly wet. Nothing good can happen for this hotel until whatever owner of the moment puts some money into it.
Very overpriced
The bed was nice and the room was clean
Very underwhelmed. For the price it simple doesn't even compete to other New York hotels. The room was fine but for 400 a night I'm not paying for fine.
Good for the City..
I liked the location for being in Williamsburg. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful; so, thanks to Dayana, Justin, Jessica, Martin and James.. for that. The rooms were clean and well kept, if a bit small. But, the size is just something that you have to deal with in the City..
There were just a couple of things that could improve.. we liked our breakfast in the room, but after the first day, we didn't get the door hanger to request the next day's breakfast.. bummer. Also, I know it was the holidays, but the restaurant and bar seemed to keep pretty random hours.. hard to plan.
We had the best time!
The concierge was incredibly friendly and accommodating! The décor of the place is funky and fun. The location is perfect for any foodie, music lover, or thrift seeker. The rooms are beautiful and the balcony attached to the room was a major plus. We can't wait to come back in the summer.
The beds were really bad. Light switches are super complicated to use. Overpriced for what it is
The bartender at the rooftop bar-john The snacks in the mini bar were resonable priced The balcony door opens even in winter The bed and pillows were very comfortable
Rudimentary tv service. Really a surprise. Wall paper peeling Paint peeling Dimmer switches and some lights broken! This was in January when there were very few customers, and I had paid for a better room. And the dinner from The Elm was terrible. The piece of meat they sent up to my room was an embarrassment. My boyfriend will eat anything and not even he would touch it. Like so many hotels the music system depends on you having an iPhone 4. If you want an adaptor you have to pay $30
Great friendly staff. Very fun scene
