Amazing views. Great staff. Great food.
We found that all of the staff were really helpful, especially Dario at reception who sorted out a booking problem that we had. The waiting staff were really great and made our afternoon tea go very smoothly.
Cool Design , location great , rooms are charming, colours very well chosen, view stunning , terrace super useful and very practicable , spa and gymn next door excellent , staff charming.
5th floor bedrooms are under the main restaurant so despite having a stunning view is a bit noisy as you can heard people walking on top of you in the evening and during bfast time so I recommend booking rooms on 4th floor instead
The style is great.
The cooked breakfast should be included in the cost. Even cheep hotels provide a full breakfast service if the option is selected. The room cost per night is quite high so it’s difficult to justify having an additional charge for breakfast over & beyond the breakfast you e already paid for. The breakfast included amounted to vertically nothing, toast cereal coffee and juice. Measuring the breakfast experience and only the breakfast experience, I would say you’ve fallen behind your competitors and are providing less than I would expect. The bar 6 restaurant has a couple of steaks but the riverside bar out performs it for choice. Might be worth considering why is bar 6 underperforming here. Why does the Riverside have a better range of steaks to choose from.
Location and staff very friendly and efficient.
The pillows were horrendous and probably should have been replaced several years ago. They were completely saggy and scrunched up to nothing. The overall decor was quite tacky and had a cheap aesthetic. The Spa was a waste of time for us sadly (unfortunately steam room was broken) and the jacuzzi had a couple in that did not want to share, so we ended up going without using any of these facilities. Outside was very noisy with late night revellers and early deliveries. The restaurant ‘SIX’ fooled us by the pictures. We had booked to eat here, but upon entering it was completely soulless and the lights were so bright, including the harsh LED’s above the terrace area that you couldn’t see any panoramic views of Cambridge. Why no candles? Madness. We left to eat elsewhere. Unfortunately the morning was no better. There was a horrible ringing screeching sound which we were advised was the toaster. Not the staff’s fault but again we had to leave to eat elsewhere as it was unbearable.
