Lacks maintenance: water pressure in the shower wasn’t enough, the carpet is ancient and shabby, the shades don’t block the light and there are no blackout curtains. They should offer fruit for breakfast, cream cheese and eggs.
Best value option in the area if you want a swimming pool, I recommend the bar menu - by Uruguay standards, the pizza was very good! If you want to enjoy the sun with a beer outside, this place is perfect. However, the rooms desperately need a refurbish and the restaurant decor is something out of the 1950's. The restaurant menu could do with a complete overhaul.
I strongly recommend not staying in this hotel. Poor maintenance, Old, bad smell, swimming pool water full of bugs swimming around. Disgusting to say the least.
If you love the charm of faded glory, this hotel will hit a soft spot! It's charming in a squeaky floor kind of way. We had a large and spacious family room, which could have used a make-over but served us well enough. The interior pool could be featured in a Hitchock movie, scary and eerie, but the outside pool was lovely though! The walk towards the river is not too far and a dip in the Rio Uruguay is just a wonderful experience!
A bit outdated but in the end nothing really bad. A passing by hotel. As said, the interior pool needs to be replaced with something a bit more lively. But do have a look at the pool! It has something!
The breakfast was excellent. Dinner was ok, nothing special. Could be a little more imaginative, it's the same menu they've had in Uruguay for the past sixty years; shower was good; staff very pleasant.
the carpets have seen better days. Uruguay should have a law against noisy mopeds and motorbikes, although this is not a concern of the hotel. Siestas can be ruined!
