10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was delicious and service was really friendly.
Cons: Service at the restaurant/beach club could be a little slow, but wasn't bad. Just a little slower pace than life in the city
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything is superb. The price is definitely too high ...I pay just as much for the 4 seasons. However the super nice staff and the beauty of the place make up for that! Definitely coming back
Cons: Way too expensive
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing, it definitely has some of the best beach space on the island. Staff and facilities were amazing and the restaurants on-site are some of the best around. We didn't leave the hotel for the first few days as it had everything we needed! Highly recommend the sushi bar on the roof to catch the sunset and definitely get down to the beach early to secure a good spot.
Cons: Because the beach is so nice you do tend to get a lot of people wandering from all over the island and pitching up a spot without realising its mostly for guests only. It would be beneficial if the hotel put up a sign so as to avoid some awkward conversations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, staff are excellent and the beach is immaculate.
Cons: n/a
9.5 Excellent
Cons: There was very poor wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was AMAZING. So tranquil and beautiful on the most stunning beach. Right near the centre of town but so quiet and peaceful. I walked up and dowb the island and I don't think I saw a beach as nice as this. Staff incredibly friendly and teh food was great. Pool was also nice. Very clean and nice cute rooms. Would highly recommend to anyone. Near a fun beach bar too. Close to all tourist attractions too. Breakfast was also included and was so generous and yummy!
Cons: Wifi was a little poor - make sure you plan some recommendations and look up stuff before you get there! But it was ncie to have a break from social media and most of the island is like this anyway. Activities booked through the hotel were really really over priced - my advice would be to walk into the town and book them there - the hotel charges maybe 2 times the amount as what we found wondering the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was beautiful - right on the beach with plenty of day beds and lounges for guests. Staff are attentive and charming. The restaurant at the hotel is great also - the included breakfast was wonderful every day. Morning yoga excellent also and a nice day to start the day. Will definitely be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant staff is very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute rooms, relaxing, right on the beach. Free breakfast was very good.
Cons: Cell connection was bad, but that’s kind of a good thing. When hanging by the pool we were told to be quiet because someone was getting a service nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. The rooms, decorations, staff, beach, sun beds, service, food and the pool. We couldn’t of been happier staying here. The is so beautiful. It is right on a beautiful beach front and out the back is the small Main Street full of cheap delicious food restaurants. Holbox Island is a dream. We stayed in the basic room but they are all beautiful and unique. The sun lounges are comfortable and the best that we saw on the island. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely return if we travel to Holbox again. The free events the hotel offers are lovely too. Keep an eye out for what’s on.

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the design of the place. It’s simply beautiful! Relaxing atmosphere. Good beds as well.
Cons: The breakfast looks a bit clumsy on portable tables in the sand. We didn’t understand why they didn’t use the nice restaurant area for this. It’s very expensive for a family of 4 and you need 2 rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room & view was so amazing. My husband & I came for our honeymoon & the staff went above & beyond for us. They even had a little surprise in the room when we arrived! Most amazing place to stay, thank you
Cons: Only thing I would say could be better is the WIFI
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked that the room came with breakfast and access to paddle boards and bikes
Cons: I did not like that the bar area closes early. We wanted to eat or have drinks at night but it was closed. Plus the service at the restaurant was not the best. I would’ve liked for staff to be more engaging in the restaurant bar area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location & beachfront bar/restaurant. Very clean and comfortable room. Great food and friendly staff. Would definitely return and recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The complementary breakfast was a full on buffet and was absolutely delicious!
Cons: There could have been more drinkable water available. Our room received 4 small glass bottles a day and there was a small water dispenser at the bar. I drink a lot of water and we ended up buying a two gallon in town and bringing it back to the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: location room sophistication food service
Cons: no wifi in rooms

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, amazing beach and sea. The facilities, very new, are really relaxing. We spent one of the best night in Mexico.
Cons: Breakfast is not fantastic, and the service is low. No restaurant for dinner, so you need to go in the city, not so far, but the path is a little bit dark. Internet is very very low (same problem everywhere in the island, they said)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: People
Cons: Excelente hotel, all employees are oriented to customer satisfaction, located in the best area of Holbox.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were the best!! Abraham provided for all of our needs! the fish dinner w/ grilled vegies were exceptional we are totally satisfied w/ this quiet peaceful choice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved that breakfast was included and it was not a cheap continental breakfast but cooked to order from a menu. The palapas had a nice sized table between the two cushioned loungers that was perfect for the wait staff to serve you lunch, dinner, or whatever drinks you ordered. The front desk staff was very helpful with information and guidance about the island. The property was clean and peaceful. It was exactly what I was searching for.
Cons: I was surprised there wasn't a TV in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous! Right on the beach, it was a little piece of paradise. Staff were always friendly to help & the breakfasts included loads of great options. The perfect place to stay. LGBT friendly
Cons: WiFi didn’t work very well, but you wouldn’t want to be glued to your phone or laptop anyway here because there’s so much amazing stuff to see and do instead.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host Abraham was very kind and helpful. Private beach with sun beds was perfect and swimming pool clean. Breakfast was big and tasty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast on the beach, wonderful.
Cons: Tropical storm. Within half an hour everything was flooded around us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms and grounds are exceptionally maintained, great staff, location and beach, restaurant and service was excellent, staff is very friendly and helpful, 2nd stay there this year, will go back again!
Cons: Holbox infrastructure is continuously being upgraded, we ran out of water several times during our stay, an ongoing issue on holbox
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the garden, and location are all excellent. The resident gatos and iguanas are a lovely added touch!
Cons: The ocean view from the restaurant and from the lounges in front of hotel (looking toward the beach) is blocked due to the beach club tents. You cannot see the ocean.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel and beach is beautiful, amazing food too I totally recommend it, is just the service can be impproved
Cons: The recepcionist was not very friendly... I did appreciate being charged 19% taxes above the price, he was ceroflexible with the price and really not polite at all. I think this should be charged at the time of booking with the full rate(this is more for booking.com) the servers very slow you have to walk and ask for things and cero friendly also
Hotel Casa Takywara - Holbox - Building
4
9.1 Excellent (423 reviews)
C$ 228+
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The quiet, peaceful and cristal clear water at the beach. The friendly and caring service of Paulina and Daniel.
Cons: There was no restaurant or food service other than continental breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The access to the beach was great, with towels and nice chairs and umbrellas. The staff is super friendly. I must admit I wasn’t the easiest guest as my first impressions of the property were a bit unfair. But the manager did everything so we could be happy on our honeymoon.
Cons: You might be taken back from an initial impression but as I mentioned, the place is lovely and the access to the beach is priceless
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The surrounding : Hollbox is increible and the beach in front of the hotel is probably one of the nicest we have ever seen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My son loved the hammocks, kitty cat and ocean front. I loved the quaint charm of this smaller hotel. My daughter loved that it was more secluded yet convenient to town, 10 min walk! My husband appreciated the spotless room and attentive service.
Cons: Nitging
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The settings are incredible, you are on the beach, facing the crystalline sea, and you wake up to the sound of the birds singing and the waves. The location is actually quite good, short bike/ walk distance from the town centre, but outside the touristy beaches.
Cons: Where do I start?? After a 20 hour journey from London, we were "welcomed" by the most unwelcoming staff, to a point that I wondered whether we were in the right place? Not a nice feeling, when you have travelled from so far! No welcome drinks, she did not show any of the facilities, did not explain any of the details about the room, area, location, etc. Check-in was done in a 2min record, leaving us a bit stunned. Overall she was rude all the way, rolling her eyes (!!) when we asked her to book a cab to get the ferry back to the mainland, or not being able to advise any places to eat at all. It might be just the case of one person (because the other staffs, working on the houses etc were lovely), but that was a pretty bad experience, that you would not expect when you pay that price per night. Secondly, each and everyone its own perspective about a holiday, but for the value, you might or might not have the AC working, might or might not have water to shower. It was all a gambling game, which to us, was not what we dreamt off, after long days wandering around under 40 degrees. We got told they had to do loads of work to do in the area, and so we had to wait hours to get our AC and water fixed, twice in 4 days. Lastly, and maybe this was unfortunate, but on our first night, we left our shoes and personal towels drying outside. And they got STOLEN! Talk about a dream island! The staff was trying to be helpful, but we had to chase them to get details on what happened and what they were going to do about it. We finally saw the manager (3 days later, only because we asked to!), and he was very apologetic (fair-play to him). However, I guessed if we were told not to leave out stuff on our personal terrace in the evenings during the check-in, this would not have happened.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, great staff and a relaxing stay
Cons: nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing it was about a 15 min walk to the centro but it was like a 1 min walk to the beach, sunsets are amazing at that location and not so overcrowded.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit dirty and not cleaned right but luckily I took disinfecting wipes and that helped out a lot.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Having breakfast served on the porch was wonderful. There was always plenty quality coffee and fresh water in the room. The view from our Bungalow was the best of the property. Just feet away from the beach.
Cons: The water pressure in the bathroom should be stronger. It is in the kitchen and only trickled in the bathroom sink and the shower was only a light rainfall. Would have enjoyed a more brisk shower to remove the sand easier.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was just a few steps to a quiet beach. Breakfast was left in a basket at the door, full of fresh bread, fruit, yogurt and cereal. Plenty left over for lunch. A lovely, private haven away from the noise of the main town area
Cons: Nothing to dislike, everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Architecture, location. We had a great time!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Charming and nicely decorated hotel. Centrally located.
Cons: Not much. Maybe the Internet which is slow.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great! Right around the corner of the city square
Cons: The hotel staff DO NOT turn the air conditioner on for you, so when you arrive it's very hot and it takes all afternoon to cool off a little. Everyday when they clean the room they turn off the A/C and open the doors and windows and leave them open so when you get back it's HOT! and you go through the whole process of trying to get the room cool again, everyday! The room never got cold the whole week we were there. The electricity went out one day, the TV had to be worked on one day, the water was shut off one morning, we never had hot water in the shower which wasn't a problem because we were so hot and the wi-fi was slow. The room looks good-sized on the web photos but it's very small. The stairs going to the bed up-stairs was so dangerous, it's a ladder, straight up! with a rope handrail, felt like I was on a ship. The place has beautiful architecture but lacks in comfort and safety. Over-all I don't know how it has such high ratings...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were big plenty of room and comfy bed!!
Cons: breakfast was nice but you could only pick one thing from the menu. Would have been nice to have some fruits too
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, clean, nice staff, very good breakfast, perfect location, big terrace with a hammock and chair overlooking town.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the noise since our room overlooked town. I was expecting it to be too noisy to sleep, but it was actually okay. There were 3 of us in the room and only 2 places to sit on the terrace.
7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast was ok (included part very limited though). decor was gorgeous, location was perfect, cleaning was good, staff was nice
Cons: shower water flow was too low (even after we asked to fix it). body soap wasn't very good quality, there was no toothpaste included, no mini fridge where to keep fresh water, and the internet was terribly poor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is a couple of blocks from the beach in the downtown area Very clean and tidy with convenient shops and Restuarant’s there or close by Not on the beach but has a pool which is nice as very hot downtown without beach breeze Good value
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice swimmingpool and big room!
Cons: Tours are more expensive when you book it with the hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool and beautifully designed rooms, this place was just superb. The attached restaurant Parador 33 was excellent for dinner: Best fish on the island in my opinion. Breakfast was also served here.
Cons: I was in a 2 storey room and the single step staircase needed a bit of care after a few margaritas!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Pueblito. Very comfortable room, great pool area, super friendly and helpful stuff. Will definitely stay there again upon next visit at holbox.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. I honestly can’t fault this place at all. The staff are amazing, the location, the place, the design of the rooms everything was incredible.
Cons: Nothing

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved that place. Best location in Holbox on the best stretch of beach. Beautiful little hotel. 2 small but inviting pools. Good restaurant. Pretty rooms. Will definitely come back and stay there again!
Cons: The only things that could be improved would be 1) a small fridge in room for cold water and 2) better water pressure in the shower. Everything else was super!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good location almost right on the beach. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Loved the rough and rustic wood detailing to every piece of furniture.
Cons: It’s common for many hotels here not to have tv’s in the rooms but it was a bit annoying when you’re ill in bed and bored. The wifi was terrible, hardly worked.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the minimalist Mexican design of this hotel. I booked last minute, so I felt like my rate was way too high, but overall it was a great room, cleaning service daily was amazing, and hotel staff were very helpful organizing my transfer back to airport. Location is great, beach area is great. Restaurant overlooks the ocean.
Cons: Breakfast was just ok, and could be better.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel location, design, kindness of the staff, food, beach of course
Cons: Everything was perfect
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the two quite pools they we’re very relaxing.
Cons: Everything was good. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstanding.....very helpful and responsive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really clean and check inn check out was fast and easy. The location was perfect. Right in front of the beach and close to downtown.
Cons: Breakfast can be better. The coffee was not fresh and hot. And the options were a little limited.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Location on the beach but far enough from center
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff people are very kind Small restaurant facility well attended Clean and nice rooms
Cons: The installations at the beach -Palapas- need to be more protected from Sun. Bar attention at the beach is not so efficient. Its conveniente include tables ate the beach for the beverages.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing just in front the beach. I really love the pet friendly culture, not just in the property but in the entire island. I will highly recommend the hotel.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our time at the hotel. It´s located about 5 minutes walk to the main beach. Room was clean and had everything you need (and the free coffee is nice). We also enjoyed the bikes, that were included for free - a good way to explore the island. Had a great time!
Cons: There´s no breakfast - but since there are so many little and nice restaurants on the island, this was no problem for us. Just grab a bike and find something nice within 5 to 10 minutes..
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with shelves for clothes. close to beach. Free bikes to travel around island.
Cons: Construction behind Ca;Rita directly out our window was annoying, hopefully they finish up.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great room, huge bed and very friendly and helpful staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and location was good, 10min walking distance to town and 3 minutes to the beach. Staff was super friendly, very welcomed and they organised the transportation for us. Room was very clean and comfortable with AC and fan as well, coffee machine, fridge, safe and beach towels.
Cons: The wifi was not working for 3 days (we stayed 4 nights) and tv as well, there was just 1 chanel, maybe in connection with the wifi.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the rooms was quite comfortable , clean, T.V. fan, air-condition all fine. location was 2 blocks form beach,
Cons: Gaby checked me .but, I was never told that caretaker is not located in the building. I was asked if I had the owner number and yes I did have his number . customer service was poor stayed for 3 nights and I never saw Gaby again, I did message the owner about wanting to use a bike , he never responded. My phone stopped working due to humity so I could not message the owner. their was no WIFI, Day of checkout came I left early and never saw anyone. also, when I paid Gaby she did not have change so she said ill give to you tomorrow, I never received my money . nor did she ever leave me a note on my door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ca'Rita is a very nice location which is quiet and very close to the beach (2 min walk). Also the center with restaurants and bars can be reached quickly. The hotel is really pretty with many personal decoration details like an outside shower coming out of a shell or hammocks in the clean and quiet inner courtyard. We also really liked the free bike rental in order to get around the island, free coffee and water in the room and the free welcome fruit basket. The awesome yoga class on the rooftop with view on the sunset was another highlight of our stay. But the best thing about the hotel is Cinzia the host, who is really nice, caring and always there for you if anything is needed. We are really pleased to get to know her and her two cute dogs. We definitely want to come back.
Cons: The only thing we could mention was the toilet flush, which was sometimes stuck after flushing. Everything else was perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cristine the host was incredibly helpful and kind, she assisted us with organising activities and taxis. There are roughly 6 rooms at the property, so it is generally very quiet and private. The rooms were large, very clean, with big beds and good A/C.
Cons: The wifi is slow (but this is more a symptom of wifi on Holbox in general) and there were no free bikes for us to use during our stay (which the advert had stated).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We definitely recommend Ca’Rita! The room was spacious, boutique style and lovely equipped- as well as the whole infrastructure. The owners gave us a warm welcome & were always at our disposal, giving precious Insider Tipps about the Island and helping us with transport organization (for our day trips to Cancun, Isla Mujeres etc). In less then 2 min walk you are at the beach and you can rent sun chairs at the spot you like the best. Whenever we’ll hit back Holbox - we’ll stay at Ca Rita!
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, lovely hosts all on a beautiful island.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, nice staff and owner. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: There was some building work going on behind our room, maybe in the neighbours plot which could be noisy early on but I’m sure that’s a short term renovation.

The surrounding Yalahau Lagoon is an ideal place to spot dolphins and rare birds.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff with a bar upstairs that has a happy hour from 7-9pm
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There's great ambience in the hostel, there's a bar, they have yoga lessons, tours and all. The staff is nice, although distant at times, but nice regardless. The bar is great and it's a great place to meet people, even from outside the hostel. The location is great and 2 minutes away from the beach.
Cons: Just one toilet and inside the room, which was awkward, the shower was outside. You can't pay with card.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: So this hostel is really nice WiFi’s not great but that’s the island , breakfast isn’t included FYI . But the staff were so helpful and went out of there way to help me so would recommend it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the hammock area was very cool to hangout. The beach just near the hostel was relaxed and chilled. The evening games on offer were always fun and creative.
Cons: The bar staff were not friendly or welcoming at all to me or my friends. This was a real shame cos the bar area looked pretty cool but because of the staff we didnt really want to hangout there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hostel with a great atmosphere, especially at night in the bar area. No "forced fun" like at other places (e.g. Che hostel), it's a nice chilled social vibe. Comfortable beds with a large locker and personal plug sockets. 30 second walk to the beach and close to all the main places in Holbox
Cons: It's a great hostel but loses marks for the price. Too expensive for what it is. Lots of people I spoke to didn't even know about the kitchen, yoga or free drinking water which shows that sometimes some of the staff do a bad job at introducing the place.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is just perfect! The bunk beds are really comfortable and solid! The vibe is great, you meet a lot of new people and the whole area is really colorful.
Cons: There is hardly any WiFi. The rooms can get really hot, since the AC is only turned on at night. The showers have really low pressure, so it takes a while to get all the shampoo out...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All the things they organise in the evening!
Cons: N/a
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is right in the center and one block away from the beach. They offer toure and free activities like yoga everyday and you can always ask them anything and they will help you. The hammocks are great and everything is really spacious. Everyone is very social and it’s easy to meet new people. I might return very soon - it’s an dangerous island, you don’t want to leave again :)
Cons: The WiFi is very bad but that a thing on the whole island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt safe, liked the fact that the dorm rooms were only accessible by key and had big lockers (which both unfortunately isn’t the case in all hostels). It was nice that the dorm had it’s own bathroom en-suite. It was very clean and well thought through. They have a fun evening program every night and offer yoga classes in the mornings and evening which is very cool. The staff were all nice and fun without any exceptions. Always helpful and communicative. The wristbands you get when you stay at the hostel are a nice idea and a nice souvenir on top.
Cons: The only suggestion is that it would’ve been nice to have hand soap in the dorm bathroom for everyone to use. It would’ve been easier to manage than always having to take your own soap with you every time you need to use the bathroom or just wanting to wash your hands.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff was very helpful and friendly. They organized interesting and fun events at night, I Loved the salsa dancing night. The hostel is clean, safe, has comfortable kitchen and lounging areas. Definitely will recommend to stay at Tribu!.

6.8 Good
Pros: The hotel had a nice jungle feel. Christine who checked us in was very nice and gave us useful information. She let us keep our luggage in the room after the check out time, which we appreciated.
Cons: In the living space, the two (2) benches that were fixed to the wall and floor were very uncomfortable after about 10 minutes of sitting on them. The concrete curved couch was too high off the floor and it was almost impossible for one person to find a comfortable way to sit on it, never mind two persons. But mostly I did not appreciate their payment system. I was stuck with a $25 US service charge to use PayPal because the hotel does not accept major credit cards. I feel that the PayPal service charge should be absorbed by the hotel, not the client. We did not like the location because the surrounding roads were flooded and it was very difficult to walk around the very large puddles. This I suppose is not the hotel's fault, but it was still a big inconvenience, especially when trying to navigate the roads in the dark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was absolutely lovely and just a 3 min. walk away from the beach. It was really quiet and private with an own terrace and hammock. We always had enough drinking water provided with a 20L water tank that was filled when it was empty. All the people who work at Los Mangles are really nice and helpful with everything. We will definitely come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and super friendly staff. It’s the perfect stay if you want something quiet and close to the beach. 2 minutes walk to the beach and 5-10 minutes to the centre where all the restaurants are. Would highly recommend this place!

Pros: Very clean and quiet place. Large room (with a kitchenette, living room area etc.). This place is away from the noisy centre, but within 15 mins walk. Very close to the beach too. I'd 100% recommend it.
Cons: This place is really in the mangroves so there are mosquitos. Remember to bring a repellent (ideally the one you can plug in the wall so that you get rid of them :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful villa with very friendly and welcoming staff. The entire villa including the outside area was very clean and tidy. The villa is close to the beach and only a short walk to the centre of Holbox. I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone. We look forward to returning one day! Thank you to Antoine, Cristy and of course Xhura!
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It smelled of sewage and was back in the jungle so a zillion mosquitos. We left after 1 night. Had booked for 3
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts, very helpful and also a good and quiet location, very close to the beach. It is not exactly in the centre, but the village is small, so it is not far. I recommend you rent a bike in town. Room was spacious and very clean and kept so for my stay. Kitchenette was great equipped.
Cons: the scorpion in my bathroom, but that is something you gotta deal with, when you stay in a tropical region. would have been nice to be able to use the upstairs terrace, which is huge but only meant for the upstairs room/apartment. but the sunset on the beach is not less spectacular (i guess).

7.5 Good
Pros: - Room is exactly like pics - beautiful, big and clean; - mini fridge in the room works well - great AC - TV with really good speakers - Very close to the beach and "downtown" - Toiletries - good quality
Cons: - There are no facilities in the hotel. Even the yoga room is paid (and it's not cheap). Considering the price you pay, they should provide something for free. - Staff - One of the worst experiences in my life. I travel A LOT since I was very little and this definitely will make me not return to this place. I booked my room less than 2 hours before my arrival. I wasn't sure if I was going to stay 1 or 2 nights, so, by mistake (with 2 windows open) I booked the 2 nights. Well, the 1st receptionist was nice and explained to us that next day I could talk to the manager and see about the refund but "should be ok if I talk to her early morning and explain that I arrived late the day before". The receptionist next day said she was the manager (I still cannot believe) and she was absurdly RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL to me, saying things like "You don't even pay for the deposit that we asked before you arrived, you paid everything here, this was already an exception " (what?! How could I deposit if 1 hour later I was there?! No sense...) and, in a nice way, I asked for a refund. After a while, She said that she is going to refund 50% of the 2nd night. I try to ask for a bit more, once I booked later and I saw MANY people coming after booking last minute but her arguments were never "I am sorry we can't" but "you don't know how hotel business works (!!)" "I am already being very flexible to you offering some refund" "Go read booking.com rules first (!!!)" "the receptionist from last night don't know how the business here works (?!)" and more. Yes, in the beginning, I was very calm and waiting to talk to the manager and/or the owner but she was rude from the first sentence that came out of her mouth. There was a guy that works for the hotel too and he was ridicule rude as well.

Cons: No Swimmingpool
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean little hotel. Room is spacious and AC works well. Staff was very polite and helpful.
Cons: I don't have anything bad to say.. the internet could have been more reliable and a mini fridge in the room would have been nice... That's it..
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast is quite good , and the coffee as well. Helpful staff Close to beach ( one block) Hammock in the room
Cons: The bar across the hotel, have music every night until 12:30 so not great for relaxation if you got rooms 10 or 11 There is a lamp hanging on the room from a branch that is very intrusive and even dangerous as it is next to the fridge. I will suggest to cut the branch or place the mini fridge somewhere else.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place close to the beach. Would for sure book this place again (if we get the chance to go to Holbox again)
Cons: Wifi on the entire island is bad, including on this place.

Pros: Great location & lovely rooms! Beds are comfy. It’s a 2 minute walk from the beach & next to a really nice bakery! The yoga was great too.
Cons: The music played in reception could be a little quieter.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The island is a super calm and relaxed place. The hotel wasn‘t crowded at all and located directly at the beach!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the location (beach) was amazing - the room and the staff also. Good cocktails and super breakfast. We will go back :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem by the emerald waters of the Yucatan. Small, quiet and lovely. The staff are kind and perfectly not overly attentive. If you want loud music, poolside service and to slurp down as many margaritas as possible this is not for you. If you want the dignity of getting up and walking 20 feet to get your own beer at the beachside bar - this is for you (and me). Delicious food. No reason to leave Palapas del Sol for anything except Whale Sharks.
Cons: Ok, a bit of construction noise but people do have to work for a living so go take a walk on the white powder sand beach and chill.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Packed us boxed lunch the evening before as we were heading off on an early morning excursion. Room was spacious with comfy beds and beautiful views. The palapas on the beach were perfect and included full drink/food service from the hotel bar.
Cons: Room was lacking a closet to hang clothing and could use more accessible mirrors. The room was very spacious but made it more of a challenge to cool down with AC.

6.8 Good
Pros: Very good location
Cons: Very poor staff
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location is nice but there are plenty of other hotels alongside this coastline. Beach okay with wooden furniture to relax. Small pools and some beds to be in the shade here and there. Bikes for free use. Restaurant staff kind.
Cons: Room was disappointing! Horrible smell. Humidity, not cleaned well. Bathroom outdated and poor. Shower with hair on the floor. No comfort in the room. All furniture was poor. Bed okay, but very short. I had booked 2 single double beds and only got 1. So they brought in a childrens single bed for my son, but it was right under the AC so no way to sleep with the noise and cold. Room full of musquitos so all night trying to kill them because you were eaten by them otherwise. They come in under the doors and windows and through roof and since there was no musquitonet above the bed it was a never ending fight. Dinner was not great. Octopus was like chewing gum. You could not sit outside with all musquitos . Inside okay. Breakfast buffet (included) was restricted to some fruits and few dry rolls with jam. We ordered pancakes and eggs from the menu (additional cost) and that was fine. Staff showed unfortunately no feelings of understanding and not willing to refund anything. We had booked for a week, but left the day after. They pretended as if hotel was fully booked whilst there were hardly any guests around. Website images give the idea of a luxury hotel, but it is not. So be aware of what you are looking and willing to pay for. Many cleaners working at the compound so little privacy. Even at night some were hanging out in front of our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything .....It’s a special place the people at the property are friendly and helpful and the location of the property is perfect for the island 10 minutes away from the center on an taxi golf cart.... can’t wait to go back next year
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff. The onsite restaurant is good but expensive. Beach bar has a great crew. Pools and shared spaces are great.
Cons: The decor in the rooms was really lacking and some parts of the facilities seemed a little dilapidated. The location of the hotel is a two-edged sword. It's great to be on a remote part of the beach, but you are really isolated. It's difficult to make your way to town for a cheaper meal or some variety, or to buy supplies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance and location were supurb. The Staff was excellent. The breakfast was perfect in a beautiful location, and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Isla Holbox.
Cons: I had no complaints
7.5 Good
Pros: The island was nice, exotic and not overrun with tourists. The hotel facility was good, gave that ambience of being a bit way out from the city and off in the wild. Staff basically very helpful and kind. Food was good and they did accommodate my wife's strict nutrinional needs.
Cons: Fundamentally the visit got overshadowed by a massive storm and flood. Granted, act of a higher power. But the hotel had no preparations, no communications - there was a bunch of people running around like headless chicken, dealing with the crisis at the moment. Very much a chaos - we received a bad sandwich and a can of coffee for the night. When we checked out the next day three days earlier than booked (given there was a lot of damage and debris on the property) nobody said a word like 'sorry your experience was bad, please give us another chance next year' - the whole thing was very odd
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location and style of the hotel were the selling point and they did not disappoint! Emily Rejun Garcia at reception was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable!! She definitely added a plus to our stay!!
Cons: The food at the restaurant was not necessarily the greatest! We only had dinner there once on the first night and it really didnt meet our expectations, maybe we should have gave it a second try...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, beautiful view. Right on the beach.
7.5 Good
Pros: I'm not a breakfast eater but people really enjoyed the food. Fruit was fresh. Bar outside was great.
Cons: Water pressure was really weak and the hot water took awhile but I expected it. Instead I took quick cool showers. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I didn't.
7.5 Good
Pros: The place is beautiful and probably one of the best since the hotel is last in line so less people on its beach. The staff is very nice, very helpful, very nice The restaurant is great
Cons: Wifi unavailable. Only at reception. Unacceptable for 2019. When you pay so much for a room you should be able to have wifi for free in the entire hotel

5.5 Okay
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Great beds and showers. Get a room with a private plunge pool. Great food and drinks in the restaurant and bar. Get a room that is not facing the pool area. Two outstanding servers were Esteban and Danielle!
Cons: No shade at the pool and very little on the beach area. Other reviews mentioned the same thing regarding shade. Wi-Fi was spotty. They had 3 tiny beach umbrellas and when asked for more they said that was it. It is blazing hot sun otherwise! They let people smoke in the pool area and at the swim up bar! Gross! It is not exactly on the beach. A lot of the staff are new and could use some training on being friendlier. They don't interact with the guest very much. Service is good but should be stellar for the price you pay. Next time we will stay at Casa Los Tortugas: https://holboxcasalastortugas.com/
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, pool, food
Cons: It was our second time at palapas del mar, and we were dissapointed with thw room, the shower didnt work, the room was behind the skybar And the noise and music untill 12 pm or even more was very annoying, the AA not very good either. We asked yo change room and It got better but not like 2 years ago.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This place is incredible. The bar and pool is real nice, chilled vibes and great cocktails. The room was basic but real comfortable - we got an upgrade to a room with a pool (thanks guys) so we're living the dream! Such a relaxed place, would definitely come back if were in the area!
Cons: Nothing. It was bliss.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great room with a private plunge pool, clean and comfortable bed, close to amenities and beach
Cons: We went on the whale shark tour and were asked if we had any medical problems which we didn’t have. The boat ride was horrific hitting big waves at a fast speed to get to the whale sharks. One wave hit the boat and I hurt my back in impact. The two guys the skipper and marinero were disgusting. They didn’t help me ask me how I was they ignored me. My family and the other people on the boat assisted me and helped me get off the boat six hours later in Holbox. Turns out I fractured my vertebrae and had emergency surgery a few days later. My back was in perfect condition before the trip. Please for anyone who’s ants to do this trip recommended by this hotel with this tour company please take this into consideration that it’s a rough boat ride and I would not take my kids or go again on this excursion. The water is rough where you swim with the whale sharks and it’s a horrible journey to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simple and clean with a terrific staff. They arranged all our transfers and were very flexible with the arrangements
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very nicely designed, well maintained, and clean. We had a junior suite which includes a small private pool in front of the room and it was perfect for a quick dip. The hotel is 2 mins walk from the beach and the hotel grounds are absolutely lovely. It is a 10 minute walk into the centre of town if you feel like dinner or a drink outside the hotel. It is also a 10 minute walk from the dock where most boat trips depart from. All in all, we really enjoyed the hotel. Oh, and there was no seaweed on the beach at the time we visited (June 2019).
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fabulous. The micheladas were the best I've ever had. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly and helpful. The guests are a mix of couples and families but never felt overcrowded. Everyone was able to get a bed to lay in the sun and have privacy. The most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. I will definitely be back!
Cons: Wifi wasn't great but then it forces you to get off your phone which I didn't mind. The one ATM that dispenses pesos was down one night, but it was manageable.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The rooms were great. Good airconditioning and comfortable beds.
Cons: The pool is disgusting as there are continuously people drinking in the pool. There are mainly groups of people in the hotel who want to drink a lot and yell to each other over the pool from one side to the other. It’s definitely not terrible but I would not recommend this hotel if you are travelling as a couple or family, for example. Go to this hotel if you are with a group of friends and looking for a party. Moreover we did not find the staff too friendly, neither to the guests as to each other.
4.3 Okay
Cons: We were there for our honeymoon, and explained that to the hotel months before our arrival and we got a room with two separate beds right next to the kitchen. We could hear staff cooking, talking and arranging everything for breakfast at 6am. The staff at reception was unfriendly and didn't try to compensate us for that. We had a booking for 10 nights and we only stayed one night. Worst experience I have had in a hotel so far.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room, the regular pool and the pool on the balcony , breakfast was ok.
Cons: Not enough shade in the upper pool, some of the staff in the reception weren’t nice. For example one of them disturbed our afternoon rest to test their phone with some tech guy, even though we told them we are busy and they tried again. Sun beds on the beach could have been nice, other hotels have it.

Cons: I liked everything in general
4.5 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: The waiting for the check is about a 40 minutes. The food isn't tasty, and made me sick . The water in the toilet isn't working well... There is not a servise in the beach area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Things I liked: breakfast was included and the variety was good, location of hotel was great, room was spacious and the staff were very nice and accommodating.
Cons: Things I did not like: First, many hotels I have stayed at in Mexico have a water cooler either in the room or in a common area; this hotel did not. We had to buy water in town, all hotel drinks were very pricey. I was bothered that I had to pay for a cup of coffee outside of breakfast hours as there was no coffee maker in the room. Most hotels in the world have a coffee maker of some sort in the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food and drinks could be better; they where not bad, but with room for improvement.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food and the rooms. Location was spot on

Pros: The hotel was beautiful. The location was amazing, and the beach was incredible. The rooms were super clean and spacious and the beds were extra comfy.
Cons: Nothing.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: I liked very little about this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. I would advise anyone thinking of staying here to save their pennies and stay in the HM Palapas next door or Hotel Flamingo.
Cons: I can honestly say I liked very little about this hotel. Right from our arrival, I wanted to leave! The reception staff did not smile once (and looked glum during our entire stay!) and seemed reluctant to help. We were shown to a room which was round a dark corner by signs telling us to beware of dangerous electricals. Our room was dark and frankly depressing. The paint was peeling off the walls and the bathroom smelt of sewage. We were woken our first morning at 6.45am by the room below hauling metal trunks from their room onto the patio apparently for a model shoot. We then moved to a different room with a large double bed and a small double, for the three of us, but with only one bedside table and one bedside light to share! We were also expected to unpack for the three of us into three very small shelves. When I asked where I should put all our clothes, they said most people kept them in their suitcases!!! There wasn't a single ledge to put toiletries or suncreams etc and the shower I had to keep shampoos and gels on the floor. We were also woken every morning at 7am by screaming children and the room above. There is no soundproofing. The pool is far too small (overflowing with kids) and surrounded by jungle, so extremely dark and feels very penned in. This also made it a mosquito haven so anyone unfortunate enough to be sitting round the pool got eaten alive!! I noticed that most other hotels along the beach have the pools overlooking the beach with a lovely beach bar and view. The beach bar was a rather neglected affair set far back from the beach which was a shame as Edwin and Epifanea were the the only charming staff there and totally wasted in an empty bar. The patch of beach which the hotel claim as theirs is the only area along the whole stretch which does not offer shade. All other hotel have parasols or lovely thatched little cabana style roofs. This meant that no one lay on the beach as with only sun loungers, the heat was too intense.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The entire visit we were incredibly well looked after. The staff were prompt and polite with any question easily resolved. The restaurant was fantastic, and our room had a beautiful view and exceeded our expectations.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and the atmosphere was really nice. The buffet was fine and the welcome was great.
Cons: The AC was not working in our. We had to call many time before someone come and do something about it. Finally they moved us to another room. Unfortunately we did not have a balconi in the new room that we got... They did not offer any compensation for the inconvenience...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, all inclusive quality and price , space for kids to run around and the iguanas!. Also Luis from the midnight shift was amazingly helpful when my kid got sick and he took us to the doctor at 2am, waited for us and brought us back since there are no taxis at that time at night.
Cons: customer service is not always their highest priority
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful and tasteful hotel. Friendly professional staff. Comfortable and quiet.
Cons: The food was a bit bland. Also would have preferred to have the beach sitting area to be located closer to the water.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lots of plants and the staff is excellent. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious.
Cons: No WIFI the entire week at the hotel. Not acceptable and very disappointing. It was not fixed in a weeks time. The drinks were only so/so.

Pros: Great location and sorroundings
Cons: Rooms are not properly clean and bathroom is not well equipped.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beach across from hotel is beautiful and rooms are very spacious.
Cons: On our last full day at the hotel there was a very bad stench in the shower area. We were told that there was a sewage back up and the problems being worked on. When we returned to our room very late that night, it was strongly smelling of bleach. So much so, I was coughing throughout the night. The front office was closed for the night so I couldn't request a room change. We opened the terrace door to get as much fresh air in as possible.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely located at the end of the beach (approx. 15minutes walking to the center). Free sunbeds if you are quick enough in the morning. Free drinking water refill. Good bistro next to beach & pool bar on the roof.
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms are just okay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and rooftop bar were the BEST !
Cons: The restaurant downstairs - Mosquito….nobody speak English, the meal is not good (I had a serious stomach problems after dinner).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved that the property was away from the center of town and had a beautiful private beach. It was super clean and used eco-friendly practices.
Cons: The swimming pools were small and more geared towards adults lounging. We were traveling with 2 kids so I bigger pool would have been nice.

Pros: This place is a dream! The rooms are very confortable spacious and clean. The staff was excellent very friendly relax very helpful and always in a good mood. The beach of the hotel is the best of the island (hammocs in the water, no seaweed) the restaurant on the beach offers good food and the Alma Bar on top is the cherry on the cake: best cocktails, music and view specially for sunset. A MUST!

Can't wait to return to Holbox and I would definately stay here again!

Pros: the location was nice and so was the stuff
Cons: the place was pretty run down and old, the walls were stained. It would have been fine it was more budget accommodation but it was very expensive for what you get.

Pros: Juices, location, staff
Cons: The matress
6.8 Good
Pros: Amazing location right on the beach, which was beautiful and clean and had very little seaweed while we were there in June. Conveniently located near most of the bars, restaurants, and shops. Staff was friendly and helpful for the most part...
Cons: My wife and I both got horribly sick after eating a vegetable quesadilla at the hotel's restaurant. Mentioned to the hotel staff that I believed this was the cause, since we both started vomiting 4-6 hours after the meal. They didn't seem to take this complaint seriously and suggested it must have been something else we ate. They did call in a doctor though, who helped my wife feel better. But the doctor also overprescribed us various drugs, including antibiotics, which were unnecessary and actually made my sickness much worse. It took about two weeks for my stomach to fully recover. Also, water at the hotel was shut off for the better part of two days while we were there. When we asked the front desk staff about what the problem was, we received different answers. One receptionist mentioned the whole island was having an issue with their water, but when we checked with another hotel, the other hotel said they weren't having any issues with their water. Therefore, I would have appreciated greater transparency from our hotel regarding the mysterious water problem. Also, our room was really nice and included a balcony with a hammock, but for the price, I believe it should have included a mini fridge.

Pros: The hotel is right in front of the beach, they have a bar outside with food and drinks, great to relax. The room facing the sea is fantastic, very spacious and comfortable. Helpful staff.

Pros: I liked we were right on the beach and had a view of the sunset from our balcony. Nice beach area with palm trees and quaint restaurant / bar. Level of clientele was nice.
Cons: No TV's but that is my issue. At check in they can offer you more info about the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything! This hotel has a nice quiet private part of the beach and the rooms were immaculate. Really unique aspects such as a panoramic roof terrace, shell shower heads and hammocks in the rooms. Completely perfect island escape.
Cons: Would have been nice to have a plunge pool or for the jacuzzi on the roof to work - but then again the beach is right at your toes.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of lounge chairs on the beachfront
Cons: Breakfast not included

6.2 Good
Pros: The location on the beach is its saving grace.
Cons: The service at the hotel was almost amusingly indifferent. The front desk staff were of no use for any questions (yet for some reason about ten of them lingered there). The hotel has different level rooms and my understanding is that third floor rooms are nice and private, but our second floor pool facing room almost felt like a hostel - we heard every move of our neighbors and of the entire hotel. There is zero privacy. The beach access is great but since the room has no beach view it almost makes more sense to book a nicer place a few blocks from the beach. The hotel is clean but definitely very basic.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: Waiting for water and hour after check in
6.8 Good
Pros: Very nice beach front
Cons: They charged 20 USD / night for our dog! They didn't mentioned this super high price anywhere in their listing. The WIFI didn't worked at all. Construction was going on all day long making much noise.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extraordinary. Very clean. Location excellent.
Cons: They lost our FULLY PAID FOR AND CONFIRMED reservation and didn’t have a room for us the first night. Ridiculous. Didn’t contact us about the issue. Not until I called to check on ferry pickup 2hrs before arrival at 730pm did I learn that we had no bed to sleep in—with a child in our party. They put us in the town in a non-comparable room for first night. I blame Xperience Hotels for this. Staff at hotel bent over backwards for us: Israel Camacho was earnest and kind in his efforts to meet our needs. They refunded that first night. You pay a lot for beachfront but it turns out the beach and beach facilities are open to public. Could just stay off beach, use the facilities for a few dollars and pocket hundreds a night. Lesson: confirm w Xperience and local hotel constantly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The proximity to the beach. The beach club.
Cons: No where to clean sand from our feet before going into the room. They just came into our room to do repairs while we were in there. That should be done while the room is empty.
4.3 Okay
Cons: This is a very bad hotel and a total waste of money. The breakfast is what can only be described as inedible. The WiFi barely worked. The pools were dirty. The bikes cost about £8 a day to hire and they are so rusty and the chain fell off about 5 times when I rode it. If this was a hostel, I wouldn’t be complaining but this markets itself as a 4 star hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This beautiful hotel is in an amazing location - it has direct access to the beach, but is also only a 5-10 minute walk from the center of the island with its restaurants and cafes. It's close enough to be convenient but far away enough to still feel private. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, making recommendations and working with us through some scheduling changes. The rooms were extremely clean and relaxing, and the hammocks on our balcony were a great place to unwind.
Cons: The wifi is spotty, though this is true on most of the island. We were also had sporadic issues with the water not flowing to the shower and believe that this is because we were on the third floor; our friends on the ground floor did not have any issues with water pressure.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent! The hotel leads right onto the beach and has a great beach/lounge area right on the water! It was beautiful! The hotel and staff were great and the hotel in general has a nice beach/relaxed decor and vibe and we really enjoyed our stay there!
Cons: There was an issue on the first night where the hotel (and the island as a whole) ran out of water, it took a few hours to get fixed (which wasn’t the hotel’s fault as it was an issue on the entire island) but it just meant we couldn’t shower or use the loo when we got there
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a beautiful room overlooking the pool and beach. We especially enjoyed the walk to Punta Cocos. The sunsets were spectacular!
Cons: Can’t think of a thing
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Beach front ,open dining, great location , friendly staff
Cons: Room not very welcoming, no art work , no coffee machine, just very plain. But for the price , it will do
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Holbox Dream was amazing, would recommend to anyone looking to visit Holbox! Wish I never had to leave!
6.8 Good
Pros: This hotel is located directly on the beach two blocks from the center so it’s close enough to access restaurants yet far enough to avoid noisy night lift. Staff are friendly and informative. Cleaning staff are pleasant and do a superb job. There is a restaurant that only serves breakfast ( included in the room ). There are two small wading pools but they were green with algae
Cons: I was not refunded for early departure of one day/night. The food for breakfast was poor quality. There was no shower or tap water for most of the days except for 15- 30 minutes each day if that. The kitchen ( the reason I rented the room) had no dish towel or cloth, no sharp knife, no bowl for mixing, no workable large pan only two broken beaten pans and a new one egg pan, simply unacceptable! The toilet worked off and on due to a faulty tank mechanism.

Pros: The hotel has a perfect location, right on the beach and close to the main square. The beach has lovely palm trees, umbrellas, hammocks, beach beds and is being served with drinks. You can watch sunset from it. Breakfast is basic but tasty with fresh fruit, fruit juice, coffee and toast.

Pros: Very nice location on the beach and close to town. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are airconditioned!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was great.

Pros: Rustic accommodations but very nice and clean. Big windows to let the sea air in and great ceiling fan. Breakfast good fruit plate, strong coffee and toast all you need but other great options additional fee
8.0 Excellent
Pros: On the beach. Staff were amazing, kind, thoughtful and one night we returned to see the wait staff having a class in English and French to help them better serve their customers. The reception team were in contact before our stay and were super helpful with room requests and taxi information.
Cons: The bar nearby was very noisy one night and this did disturb our sleep. The second night however it was quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is right on the beach and people that are passing by are not allowed to stay on the beach. Its guests only. The food is great and the staff in the restaurant is very friendly. Excellent beach service aswell. Take a massage by Elsa while you are there.
Cons: The beds are hard as the usually are in mexico. Its close to Hot Corner with music at night that sometimes keeps you from sleeping.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, really friendly and helpful. Super location! Private beach and enough beach beds for everybody (without having to reserve). Rooms are nicely decorated. Pretty view of the ocean and beach from the room.
Cons: The double bed is a bit small for two people. (Two normally sized people touch shoulders when both lying on back and edge of bed...) Wifi really bad - but that's so on the whole island. Breakfast only includes coffee, 2 slices of bread, fruitjuice and fruit. The rest costs extra.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location - central to the village and right on the gorgeous white sand beach! Lovely hammocks and beach loungers with cocktails delivered.
7.5 Good
Pros: In front of the beach and restaurant area.
Cons: Beds were very hard ...
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Right on the beach, perfectly located. Delicious continental breakfast included.
Cons: The rooms are supposed to have oceanview but all the view is blocked by palm trees

7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, no fuss, comfy bed and clean
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice staff here, some reviews said the pool wasn’t working or that water was weak but found the pool really nice and the shower was hot and strong! Great quiet hideaway and a great price!
Cons: The room could of had better lighting like a side lamp but that’s just being fussy!
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was near the ferry and away from all the restaurants and bars just enough to have a quiet peaceful evening. I really liked the shower.
Cons: The room did not smell very good. It was damp and needed a dehumidifier. I asked for a fan but they could not provide one. The room doesn't get much natural light.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was clean and calm. The host is understanding.
Cons: I didn’t like to kill 40 mosquitos in my first room. Fortunately the host give us a new clean room after 1 hour of killing mosquitos with hand and product. The stay would have been very better if we had the second room in the beginning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was so surprised at our stay in Casa Barbara, Angel and his colleague were just so so friendly, and kind and they made our stay perfect. I truly believe if the breakfast was laid out a bit better, with some fruit this would push your ratings even higher. It is the only section that I feel needs attention, but I loved casa Barbara, staff are what makes it amazing!!
Cons: The breakfast lacked a little attention
6.3 Good
Pros: Close by to the ferry and the Main Street of shops. The pool was clean and
Cons: Well... We had to pay for the room by converting US dollars to Mexican pasos and pay on our Australian card so there was 3 currency transactions. I think this is a scam to get more money depending on the exchange rate for he US dollar. The house cleaning woke us up banging on the door at 9:30am on our first morning asking to clean the room. She then came back at 10:30 banging asking to clean while we were still in the room. After coming back from a day trip, the room had not been made and when I asked the front desk to make the room he said they were not available and was a bit angry that we had asked him. Considering the price of the hotel - we would expect the room to be cleaned each day. He said he could give us new sheets if we wanted but didn't have a sign to let the cleaners know not to wake us up again the next morning. There were only 2 pronged power points in the room unlike most of Mexico so we had to charge our tech out in the garden where we found the right PowerPoint. There was no sunny areas around the pool and the day beds were along the main path in and out of the hotel making it awkward to sit there as they were not in the pool area. There were only Spanish channels on the tv. We wouldn't recommend this stay due to the high price and low service levels.
7.5 Good
Pros: Right in the middle of town, it was close to everything… had a nice lush tropical garden as well With a beautiful swimming pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small, familiar Hotel with beautiful exotic Garden. Rooms spacious and clean. Coffee & cake in the Morning for free! Hope we Can come back one day
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! You could easily walk to the ferry and to the beach. It was a very nice place to stay. The hammocks outside were a great way to relax! The pool looked very inviting. The room was clean and had a decent size closet to put our luggage in to keep the room clutter free.
6.8 Good
Pros: Bed was great as was the bathroom. The front office was very curteous too.
Cons: No WiFi at all, there were no towels the first day and it’s not a 3 star hotel in my opinion. The «  Spa «  was never open when I was here and it just wasn’t a great value for the price.

9.5 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing. Staff was super helpful with everything. We swam off the hotel at nights and there bioluminescence was INCREDIBLE! We had our own personal water hammocks. Rooms were clean. Ac worked well. Fans worked well. Shower was warm enough. 1 mile stroll down the beach to get n to town or to the whale shark pier or a 15 min walk to Punta coco to see Flamingos
Cons: WiFi didn’t work. But whatever. We u plugged and enjoyed. But it’s important for some to know since some people travel and need WiFi for work etc. Needed an outdoor shower! We spent all day in and out of the ocean. A quick outdoor rinse would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, room, staff, location. Really great experience and wow what a location easily the best we have ever stayed.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sergio the host was excellent place was rustic but in good shape everything worked, right on water, very quiet at far end of hotel strip
Cons: Would have been nice to have bikes to get into town as that is the best way to get about the island As is have take cab or walk 15-20 minutes
