Pros: The Port Canaveral office is VERY busy on a cruise morning. We spent about 15 minutes waiting to turn in the car and another 30 minutes standing waiting for the shuttle to the ship. Needs some more staff.

Pros: the car was very nice and comfy
Cons: I had made an appointment to pick up the car at 12pm. I got to the counter after a 50 minute wait. one guy 5 in front of me was there for 90 minutes. this Dollar rental store didn't care about what was going on. management just ignored it. I will not be using them again.

Terrible Customer Service
Pros: The car was clean... that's all.
Cons: The gentleman who helped me when I picked up the rental was extremely short with me. He refused to look me in the eyes and mumbled so quickly I had to have him repeat himself several times. He seemed upset to have to be there.
The car itself was so itty bitty, it was hard to hear yourself driving.
I arranged to drop off the car at 5:00 pm on a Saturday. Apparently they closed at 3:30. No big deal, except they left no envelopes outside for after hour drop-off.
I called the 1-800 number and explained my situation; the woman on the phone seemed like she didn't want to deal with me and transferred me to "directions". The gentleman who answered could not stop reading from his script. I finally asked him if I could speak to someone who could actually help me, he said, "Sorry. I don't know what to tell you." How rude!
I left the keys and the next day called to check in and make sure everything was ok. I was cut off from speaking and was told I was charged $15 for the gas being below the full line. It was literally JUST below the full line! MAYBE a gallon worth. MAYBE!
To top it off, I watched my credit card have 4 different pending charges for $188, $141, $130, and $47.
Ridiculous. Never use them!

Pros: Being done with the whole rental experience
Cons: -Waited over an hour for the shuttle
-Counter rep couldn't have cared less about customer service
-Car was dirty, smoky and damaged
-at no point did anyone apologize about the wait or try to do something about the dirty car.
-found out I could've rented the same size car for 25% less at Budget as I was getting onto the hour-late shuttle.

Pros: Excellent service and car.
Cons: I've paid an LSI assurance that I dont need, because I've my own assurance , and I'll tell at the reservation office tahta, but finally I find this charge at my bill.

Shuttle does not run regularly at Cape Canaveral P
Cons: We waited for almost 2 hours for a Dollar shuttle to pick us up from Cape Canaveral Port. They did not answer their counter phone. Finally, a Hertz shuttle took us to the Dollar car rental. They only had two employees running the place, so when we got there, there were over forty people waiting to get their car. We waited another hour or so to finally picked up our car and go on our way. I don't blame the employees as they were doing the best they can, but their management sucks.

One way rental from Cape Canaveral to Orlando
Cons: 1. Cape canaveral clerk could not find my reservation despite the dollar rent-a-car confirmation number given to me by kayak. He then proceeded to hand me a rental contract in somebody else's name, despite having given him my license.
2. I attempted to call Dollar customer service to get assistance, because the clerk in Cape canaveral was proving useless. The email from Kayak said that Dollar will provide customer service, and listed an 800 number. When I called the number, I got a recorded message saying they were closed in order to celebrate Presidents' day. I had zero recourse on that day.
3. The car they gave me was filthy. Stains on all seats, dessicated apple core left in the door. This car was sitting on their lot, in a slot indicating it was ready to go, but clearly it was not.
4. I had to "opt-in" to their automated toll system, but the clerk never told me and I never had the opportunity. So instead, lacking exact change, I drove from Cape Canaveral to Orlando on all back roads, which doubled my travel time.

Port Canaveral owner/clerk racist
Cons: I'm a white woman traveling with my husband and kids. There was a line of people waiting to pick up cars, many white, one Hispanic, one traditionally-dressed Muslim. All the white people got cars with no problem. The Hispanic man was refused a rental because he didn't have proof of his own personal car insurance. (I have never ban asked for proof of insurance in any of my past car rentals, and was not asked the day I was at the Port Canaveral Dollar). The Muslim woman wearing a headscarf presented her reservation papers from the travel site and was told the "reservation wasn't in the system" and he could only give her and her family a car for over $400. Her reservation- clear on her printed paperwork- was for less than $200. I'm not sure if she and her family ever got it straightened out at the airport (the only option he presented). It seemed obvious from his demeanor that he didn't want to serve these non-white customers. Dollar needs to investigate this man- if only to protect itself from discrimination lawsuits. It was shameful.

Dollar would not honor price
Cons: Dollar would not honor price and reservation from Kyak. Wanted to charge me 3x the price. Horrible. Bait and switch and nothing you can do about it.

Pros: The pricing for the rental was great
Cons: There was damage to the front bumper and it caused a very large flapping noise while driving. I was on a long trip and it was terrible. Even with the radio up I could hear it.

Cheap, but not efficient
Pros: Very helpful representative and friendly once i finally got to the counter. Staff was efficient and working diligently to assist all the customers in line although there were far too many scheduled for the hands they had to work with.
Cons: Upon walking to the location (there was no shuttle from the cruise boat and my phone had been lost so i could not get an uber), we arrived right before our scheduled time and there were far too many customers for the staff the location had. On a time crunch, we patiently waited about 15 minutes to simply talk to the representative before renting a car. There was a line behind us out the front door. The GPS rented with the car took me through closed roads due to construction and wouldn't route me around until i traveled 12 miles out of the way. It then took me down toll roads which i did not have cash for and now have to pay. The insurance i purchased through Kayak was not recognized by Hertz (after speaking with the associate at the store) who tried to get me to purchase additional insurance through Hertz. When i purchased the rental online i was under the impression i would be covered. This should be worked out between the companies before the customer gets to the counter as it is very confusing and frustrating.

Pros: Staff was friendly and got us our car quickly. The shuttle that picked us up from the cruise ship terminal was very convenient and driver was helpful and friendly.
Cons: The pick up took too long. They Charged us a daily charge and a mileage charge. They didn't record the correct mileage and charged for over 100 miles we didn't even travel. I brought the mileage to their attention and they still over charged after they corrected it.

I'd use Budget at MCO again
Pros: Counter at the airport is 24 hour service. We arrived at 1:30 am and the counter was busy. 45 minute wait in line to get our car but the agent had a great attitude despite being at the end of a long day of holiday travelers. Found the agents in cape canaveral equally helpful. Auto was in great condition and return at the airport a breeze.

Pros: Fast return. No line at this location. Slight crabby woman working counter. Shuttle to port was very convenient.
Cons: Completely filthy outside! Bug guts all across the windshield. Trash in glove compartment. Dirty seats. Really appalling!

Cons: The "deposit" on the vehicle is extreme. It was $300 I would have liked to use rather than have it put on hold until I returned home from vacation. After giving the banking information AND the insurance information, I still had to put a deposit on the vehicle which wasn't stated until after the bank card was swiped.

Quick and easy
Pros: We rented from Budget for the trip to and from the cruise ship. Budget provided a shuttle to drop us off and pick us up at the port. All of the Budget employees we met were friendly and professional which made the rental process enjoyable. We rented a Mustang on the way down, it was so cool and sporty and the price was very reasonable. On the way back we rented a Hyundai Accent which was roomy enough and very comfortable. It was also reasonably priced. I will definitely rent from Budget again.

horrible - they didn't have a car
Cons: i went online an hour ahead of time and they let me make a reservation with a guaranteed rate -- when i got the inconvenient location 60 minutes later, i had to wait in line for 20 minutes only to find out they had no cars, they couldn't tell me how long it would be before they would, and were rude about it. horrible branch.

Cons: Long line waiting for shuttle and not very organized--late arrivals attempting to push there way onto shuttle. Shuttle driver was disgusted with cruise line and their inability to process and get traffic moved through quickly.
Cons: Did not have small economy car available.

Pros: Staff are very nice, helpful and provide clear info. The company is lucky they have such a great staff. I watched the staff help each other out. They seem to be a good team. The only reason I gave a 3 for pick up and drop off was for the waiting time. That said the woman who picked us up was delightful. She gets 5 stars.
Cons: The computer system was giving staff trouble which caused a slight delay. The company should provide a better computer system for their staff.

Cons: I wish they would've told us how many tolls we'd have to pay on the major highways in Orlando. At one point we went through a toll that only took coins. We were unable to pay the exact toll which was stressful. Also there are no accessible gas stations near the Orlando Airport. Wish they would've offered for us to pay our gas up front to save us the hassle of finding a nearby gas station which required us to pay tolls twice just to get there.

Pros: The pick up and drop off were excellent.
Cons: The shuttle from the cruise ship was extremely delayed. Had to take an Lyft ride. The car I had reserved was not available.
Cons: Car had an oily film which made it difficult to see out the windows without repeatedly cleaning and vehicle had been smoked in a lot. The smell of smoke irritated us both. We even tried spraying the car with a powerful hospital deodorizer, but were never able to eliminate the smoke odor.

Slow pickup at Port Canaveral
Pros: Car was clean. Once we got to the Cape Canaveral office things went well.
Cons: We waited for about an hour for a pickup at Port Canaveral. We watched as every other passenger that had disembarked the ship with us got picked up by multiple trips of all of the other rental car vendors' shuttle buses. Then it was just us Thrifty folks waiting in line and wondering if they would ever come.
Repeated phone calls to the Thrifty office in Cape Canaveral went unanswered. Eventually we were picked up. But I will certainly never rent from Thrifty again at this location.

Pros: Dropped off the car and was immediately taken to the port for our ship. He was VERY HELPFUL. I'm sorry I did not get his name but he seemed to be the only on there. Besides checking us in, he drove the shuttle to the port.
