The staff at Budget were very helpful and friendly. They explained the car rental process and even helped us set up the GPS for our trip in Costa Rica. Cons:
This is been an absolutely unbelievable experience with your friends I'll never be using budget again. I reserved a car online totaling $124. When I went to pick up the car originally they tried to charge me $250 which I had to contest in person while speaking Spanish, a language not native to me. They made a huge fuss about it not being possible until eventually somebody made it work which made me think I had been dealing with incompetent representatives in the first place. They also told me that the airport where I was dropping off my rental car had a office open 24 hours so that I could return the car early in the morning since I had a 5:30 AM flight. When I arrived the on site location was closed and gated even though the rest of the airport was fully up and running, so I had no option but to leave the vehicle or miss my international flight. I ended up having to park in the airport parking lot and leave detailed instructions on where I had hidden the keys. The airport personnel said that this was a frequent problem with budget. They were very friendly about coming to pick it up, but later in the same day I got a bill from budget for $890 worth of damages I had nothing to do with on the car. One of the claims was that the keylock on the door itself was damaged, though I had an electronic key the entire time and never even inserted a key in the door! I'm having to go through my credit card company right now to file a claim and I'm appalled at what the process is it this is been for a simple rental. Horrible.2.0 Poor
