Cons: They didn't have my car type and then downgraded me instead of upgraded me. And then the car was an older model. I have used both car rental agencies across the street from them and had a much better experience.

Pros: The car was ready and clean. A short line and was served promptly and helpful, and easy as a gold member. The car had HEATED seats which is great in cold weather.

Hunk of junk car
Cons: Dear Hertz,
I am a frequent traveler and I have to say today's rental experience is the worst by far in many years. I am driving 600+ today and this car had made the trip miserable. First when I booked the car I checked on the hertz website to make sure that the class of car I was booking had cruise control. Second when I arrived at the rental facility I asked if the car had cruise and I was told yes. After getting checked in we headed out to dothe vehicle inspection. Before the inspection I was told this car is pretty beat up. That was the understatement of the year. This rental looks like it did 500 miles at Bristol Motor Speedway then crashed into by the pace car following the race. The Hertz associate acknowledged that they were happy to have this car gone. Ten minutes into the trip I realized that the car in fact did NOT have cruise. I immediately called the Hertz location back and was told that they could only rent me something in a larger vehicle class for a small uncharge of $40.00. The fact that I am only paying $73.98 for the entire rental I don't think that a 50% up charge is acceptable. He told me to call another location on my journey to switch it out. I called the corporate number and the very nice lady called every Hertz from Chicago to Mississippi and no one had a car with cruise due to it being spring break. Additionally the transmission on this car is slipping and making some very unnerving sounds. This Corolla has almost 40,000 miles with near bald tires. I find this entire experience unacceptable and not to the standards I feel that Hertz's advertises. If I wanted a car like this I would rent from Enterprise.
In closing please train your employees not to lie when asked about features on a car. Also please take cars off your lot before they become this bad.

Not a great rental place
Cons: Took me an hour to get the rental vehicle and there were just 3 people in the line.
The vehicle we rented was an SUV and expected Jeep Compass or similar but ended up with Jeep Renegade. The guy at the rental store said he wanted to get rid of Renegade from his location.

Cons: No one at Hertz when we arrived,had to wait 30 minutes for his return . Car had no tread on front tires which we noticed after rental so had to return for a different car

Very poor customer service
Pros: The convenience of the pick up & drop off. Because of the problem they did upgrade our rental.
Cons: We had a problem at pick up. Somehow someone else's reservation came up and had been started before I noticed the different name. Unfortunately our credit card was charged 2 times for over $300. We were assured that since it was a "pending" charge it would be taken off immediately or in short order. We left on our vacation and the charge went through. I called at least 3 times and asked for the manager to call me back. He was evidently on vacation for 2 weeks and I asked for the area manager to call. I never received a phone call. But I did notice the charge was finally taken off by the end of the week and might have been reduced a bit. But I never received a call back. And if someone had a very strict budget and was counting on using that money on their vacation it could have been ruined. Thankfully it did not affect our vacation other than the annoyance and non-responsive management. The drop-off was convenient but since no one is there on Sundays if we had not purchased the insurance from Hertz we would have been liable for any damage to the car until they open on Monday.
Pros: The car was comfortable (if you weren't sitting in the back - no leg room)
Cons: I requested a smaller car so i wouldnt have to stop for gas as much as i did but the only options on the lot were a van with garbage turning radius or a truck. They also never informed me of the daily Young Driver fee, so even though reserving the car through kayak said it'd be $58 i was charged $96 because i'm not 24 just yet. Stupid.

Good treatment in San Diego. Not so good in Bakesf
Pros: Happy to be driven home.
Cons: I ended up paying over $60.00 more than my print out from Kayak. I was about 10 minutes late, so I understand they charged me for the extra time. However, I got charged for a full tank of gas fill up, even though I had returned the car with half a tank. I was told that was how it was. Also in San Diego, I had been given a price of $2.25/gallon, which was about where prices have been in Bakersfield. At the drop off, I was charged for a whole tank of gas at the higher price. Also the agent wanted to tack on a $90-some dollar fee because I was bringing the car in from San Diego. But that was in my contract set up in SD that there was no fee. Except when I pulled out what I had printed off Kayak, it did not say that. And Enterprise had never given me a paper contract of what we had agreed upon. Luckily I got that fee dropped. but overall it was a nightmare. Next time, I will not use Enterprise. SO EXPENSIVE that I should have either have driven my own car or taken Greyhound. When you make a deal, the elements should not all change at the end because you have nothing in writing in your hand. Ugh.

Pros: The car was nice, very clean.
Cons: Very stripped down version of the car. I rent a lot and gps and Cn radio are pretty standard at the same price at other companies. The worst part was the rental agent. Extremely high pressure sales tactics on the insurance. Repeatedly asking despite me saying numerous times I don't want it. "I don't want you to leave without our insurance., what will it take to get you into our insurance before you go." The kid was like a bad caricature of a used car salesman. That and the dorky stocking cap he wore even inside really ruined his professional look.

A positive experience overall
Pros: Friendly service. Once I was helped they got me into a nice, new car quickly. They happen to have a partnership with the insurance of the guy who hit my car, so that his insurance can pay Enterprise directly and I don't have to spend anything out of pocket.
Cons: A wait in the office even though it seemed like there were people available to assist me.

Pros: The drop off process was very fast and I enjoyed how nice and welcoming the staff was.
Pros: Very reasonably priced, even with an upgraded vehicle. Drop off was incredibly quick and easy

Really pissed off..............

Cons: The lady at the drop-off point was rude and seemed to be in a rip-off mood that day, as she first tried to charge us for a low inflated tire, then she tried to rip us for a slight graze at the side of the rear fender, luckily, since no inspection was carried out at the pick-up point, she could'nt book us for that, finally, she billed us a hefty hourly charge of $240, for bringing in the car late by 30 minutes saying that we were only allowed a 29 minute grace period.
Being new in Toronto or in any new city, it should be appreciated that, finding the drop-off point through the morning rush hour to reach the Budget drop-off point which is in downtown area is an ordeal, and the grace period should consider this and extended to take this in to account.
Anyway, Budget made a killing of $ 240 and lost a customer, as I will never ever go to them again, BTW , another customer was also booked on this account and they were last seen calling the Budget helpline, without getting any positive response or relief.

Cons: Although I had made a reservation more than a week in advance, when I showed up to pick up my car at 8 AM they did not have a vehicle available for me.
Cons: The vehicle was not there on time and 4 hours late. Cussed me to lose my ride and have to Uber to get it. Then change the date we were leaving for vacation and they did nothing to try and make that up at all. No discounts or anything even though it was truly their problem that caused me to have a problem.
