Fantastic hosts. Beautiful home cooked meals and a delicious breakfast.
Old fashioned hospitality, comfort, charm. We travel so much and stay in so many different kinds of accommodation; fancy, basic, self catering, hotels, air bnbs. But what I always crave the most are spots like the Barracks that, even if you’ve never been before, feel like you know the owners and you’ve been a hundred times before. It’s utterly charming, incredibly comfortable, tastefully decorated with our being fussy and old fashion in a way that I think so much accommodation lacks these days.
The hosts Mike & Annalie were exceptional. They made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. The breakfast was very good. We also had a very good evening meal at a restaurant wich is in easy walking distance
Mike and Amelie are great hosts. Even though Colesberg had just had some bad lightning strikes and there was no power, they made us more than welcome and were very helpful in informing us of places to eat despite the power outage. My daughter particularly loved our room and wanted to their dog home with her. Clean , inviting, "cute" and well worth the visit
Nothing really not to like.
The location was excellent but because of our dog we didn't have breakfast there.
It was all pretty good.
With a stay at The Barracks in Umsobomvu, you'll be a 3-minute walk from Colesberg Park and 7 minutes by foot from Colesberg Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
