Pros: Spacious room (though dated), strong water pressure.
Cons: Don’t stay here if you want to sleep before 11 PM or after 7 AM. Cons: Contrary to its name, we had parking lot view and were assigned a cavernous handicap room. Denied our request for a regular room. The internet didn't work in our room either. We felt the 150 price was way out of line. To their credit, the manager comped part of the cost at check out when we complained.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff and the shower!
Cons: Not enough staff for the last hour of breakfast. It was very, very busy and they were working so hard but there were only 3 of them and a lot of guests who were very demanding. I think 2 more staff would have made a big difference.
7.0 Good
Cons: Room smelled like dog. Thin walls/floors. Could hear people upstairs all night. Door to room stuck & we could barely open it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So comfortable, staff are super friendly. Great restaurant right next door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Associate working on 8/3 when we arrived at 3 PM was courteous and had a great attitude. The room was dated but clean. Breakfast was very good. Nice variety of choices. Overall, very happy with my stay. Rm 241
Cons: None

Cons: Parking was a little tricky

Pros: Breakfast was very nice with a fantastic view! Staff was very friendly
Cons: bathroom had a moldy smell
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Across from the harbor and the ocean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The helpful, friendly staff. Handy location.
Cons: The room was extremely small. Dark. There had been updating, but in general the room and property still seemed dated.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was the best! Eggs, bacon, sausage, waffle makers, fruit, organic oatmeal... and more. The hotel was in a great location close to the water and close to the Redwoods. Stout Grove wasn’t far and the Smith River is a must! Cleanest river we’ve ever been in.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was very good, food was good, seating was plentiful.
Cons: When I made the reservation it said check-in was at 3 pm, when we got there we were told check-in was at 4 pm and we would have to wait an hour, I showed the print out stating time of 3 pm but was told to come back later. When we came back at 4 pm there were many people in the lobby checking in, we had to wait quite awhile and then the person checking us in announced our room number out loud for every one to hear. As a woman and a child traveling alone this did not seem safe. There was only 1 bar of soap in the room so if someone was in the shower there was no soap at the sink. There were no drinking glasses in the room. There was no information about the amenities, local restaurants, or activities in the area. Also the front desk did not have a map of the property for us to ues to find our room, pool, laundry etc.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Location was good, central to all. The rest of the staff was very considerate the rest of our stay.
Cons: The counter attendant Neal was condescending and tactless. To me and his co worker.
Anchor Beach Inn - Crescent City - Building

8.1 Excellent (1,050 reviews)
C$ 112+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Anchor Beach Inn in Crescent City, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Redwood National and State Parks and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Obvious that they've made recent renovations, and it shows. everything had a "new paint" type of vibe. The place is neat, clean and the rooms are - well - roomy. Nice location near the water, but there's an RV park right behind it (not much they can do about that). Breakfast room/nook is very small and limited, but it's a motel after all. We went to the Starbucks up the street. But all in all a good value!
Cons: The RV park in back. No real view there. Probably better on the second floor - we were on the first.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: towel rack was unique
Cons: dirty windows, RV view
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room and beach, ocean view
Cons: Property great but for rate I would have, was, expected a more complete breakfast than just cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs and waffles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Look out window and look at ocean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and breakfast.
Cons: It was perfect for my large family.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location to the beach, literally across the street. The room was cozy for the price. They had a jacuzzi on property and offered a nice breakfast spread complimentary with your stay. Free WiFi
Cons: The ocean view claim was hysterical if you get a room on the left side of the motel you will absolutely get a full unobstructed ocean view but if you are on the right side you get a small peek of the ocean and a great view of the RV park directly behind the property. It seemed they recently remodeled our room smelled heavily of paint and the hallway/stairwell had a really bad odor with lots of flies.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast good. Location okay.
Cons: I wish I could attach a picture. When I booked the room on line, and upon our arrival the sign out front said "Ocean view rooms". We had a late arrival, midnight, but I did call and let the front desk know that. When we got to the room we were exhausted after driving 4 hours, so just went to bed. Woke up in the morning expecting to sit and have our morning coffee and breakfast with an ocean view. When I opened the curtains I was in tears. There was a disgusting trailer park right outside our window! Broken down recliner covered in garbage, garbage and trailers as far as I could see! I took a picture and showed it to the front desk attendant upon check out...she could care less! We paid $136 to sleep in a bed and take a shower. If it would have been charged to a card, I would have contacted the card company and fought charges, but we paid cash. If someone would like to contact me with an email or cell phone number, I would be happy to forward a picture. I'm not able to attach it in the area below (4) for some reason. Very disgusting and disappointed.

Cons: Can’t say that there was anything that I didn’t like
6.3 Good
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: 1. Basic breakfast was offered but we did not have where to eat it because the room allocated for this was very very small. And the tables could fit 3 and we are 5. We end up taking food to our room. 2. The view from the window is to old RV “parking”, Not to the sea.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds. Clean. Convenient. Just steps away from the beach.
Cons: The view of the RV Park.

Pros: The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The location is right on Route 101, which means it was noisy most of the night. There is no air conditioning, so the only way to cool the room was to open the window. Lodging is expensive in this area, but what we paid for the night seemed high based on the level of the hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the small private beach were great. Appreciated the picnic tables outside the restaurant so we could have our pups with us. Large beds and hardwood floors made the room very comfortable. Dinner was better than expected.
Cons: So many signs telling you not to do things -- it really harms the atmosphere. Breakfast was poor. Pool was severely chlorinated. And the pet fees are exorbitant -- it is NOT pet friendly with those fees.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: Arrived about 1:00 PM and the bathroom had no light I had to use my cell phone to see to go to the restroom. The bathroom door does not shut tight so therefore cannot lock the door. An alarm went off in our room at the same time we didn't know for sure what it was. Told front desk as we left to go do other things and we were told the complaint note would be taken care of by maintenance man. Returned about 9:30 and the light was not fixed!!!! The Asian lady went in another room and a man claiming to be the maintenance man, but turns out to be the Asian owner came out to tell us he never got the note. Told him what all was going on and I was not going to stay the next night not to charge my account for two nights if he did I would let my bank take care of it. Well, He got really HOT and told me to leave because I told him I wasn't paying for both night. I had to reiterate what I said, "I will not pay for the next night because I won't stay two nights. This light should have been fixed while we were gone"!! He came to the room to fix the light and had a big fiasco about the alarm going off. My sister and I didn't know for sure what it was but said it could have been the fire/smoke detectors battery getting low. I said I would not be happy if it went during the night. He then told us low batteries don't go off like that. I told him they do that I have 5 in my upstairs. He says, well, do you want me to replace the battery?? YES, I said. ---When we noticed the light out when we got there I ask if there was an available room to change to and if so could we look at it first. We were able to and stayed with the original room. But then I get billed $229.90 for looking at this room Plus the other 2 night $459.80. I was told it could take up to 5 business days to show up on my bank account.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff was awful! Everyone wears plain clothes. They are all kids that don't care or know about service. They advertise a restaurant, but we sat for 20 mins. and couldn't get service. Free breakfast was 2 waffle makers and 12 people in line.Smokey room
Cons: We had to drive off site for Dinner because of lack of service. We had to drive off site for breakfast because we didn't want to wait 30 mins. for a waffle maker or eat cereal with milk on the counter still in a plastic jug. These people are a joke!!!!!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was on the ocean side
Cons: Bed was very hard
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. The facilities had real potential. The hotel and bar staff were friendly.
Cons: The breakfast was sub par. Messy, poorly organized, poorly supplied, minimal fruit, and fake orange juice. In the room there were no coffee pods, of bottles of shampoo, but were supplied when requested at front desk. Also, it appeared that the sheets were not changed after the previous guests but we could not tell for sure and was around midnight when we noticed that so we didn’t complain. Lastly, the jacuzzi that was advertised was broken.

6.3 Good
Pros: The beds were cozy and the room and bedding were clean
Cons: I paid well over $100 for a $80 room. Didnt have a bathtub
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Pool, great location, room had a fridge and freezer, microwave. We just hung out on the beach then warmed up in the hot tub. Would recommend this place and stay there again .
Cons: There was no "do not disturb" sign so every morning we were woken up by the room attendant banging on the door, I don't think she could hear me say "we're fine, thanks" so more banging while I ran around for clothes to open it and tell her. It wasn't super early, but I'm up all night due to work so I'm not a morning person! But they were friendly when I opened the door and just asked for a coffee serving refill.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 2 nights at only $73/night in July! Room was very clean and cute. Place is well maintained. Staff was very nice. It's so close to everything too. Ocean World Aquarium, Jedidiah Smith State park, beaches, battery pointe lighthouse, Stout Grove redwoods. The Italian/Greek restaurant, Mario's, right next store is a must. Fantastic food!
Cons: There's no refrigerator in the room but ice is available. We improvised and filled the sink with ice to keep our drinks cold. Beds were a little hard. Can't really complain for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location as we were traveling through the Redwoods.
Cons: No A/c but the weather was cool at night so we opened the windows. All was good

6.8 Good
Pros: The price and location were good.
Cons: The room smelled.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: The room was dirty, stinky, and awful. Telling guests it's a "breakfast" is using the term loosely. We went in and saw that it was cold cereal and some muffins and chose to eat "breakfast" elsewhere. We were booked to stay three nights, after the first night (and we stayed that night very reluctantly), it was clear that we COULD NOT stay two more nights at that hotel. We ended up paying for it anyway but moving down the street to the Quality Inn which, although not fancy, was clean, the breakfast at Quality Inn served hot eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, waffles, yogurt, etc. The staff at Quality Inn was amazing and they took our trip from awful (staying at Americas Best Value Inn) to enjoyable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean!!! Breakfast in adjoining restaurant was excellent!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice but simple breakfast The staff person who checked me in helped me get a downstairs room.
Cons: Highway noise
5.0 Okay
Cons: I did not like, the worn out uncomfortable bed and the dirty bathroom but most of all I hated the cockroach we saw crawl out of the plug in and my husband had to kill. So we slept with the lights on so more would not come out and get in our stuff. I don’t want to take any home. I wanted to leave but it was midnight.i called down to office and all they said was sorry.
6.8 Good
Cons: Room smelled like smoke covered up by disinfectant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, great big bed, big screen TV with lots of channels. Good location.
Cons: The staff upon arrival were a little frosty but I just figured they'd had a long day. The light switches in the room didn't work but then I realised there were no light fixtures in the ceiling to actually make the light switches work. There is ample light from.the bedside tables. The bathroom lights worked fine.
6.3 Good
Pros: Definetly worth the price if your just staying over night.
Cons: Overall clean, but saw a long black hair on my pillow and towels.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location. Close to fairground, beach and REDWOODS!!! We left before breakfast. Big rooms and comfortable beds.
Cons: Old Building. Rooms were a little run down. No AC
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Close to town
Cons: Lobby looked and smelled old and musty, room is outdated with old furniture & bathroom & bed. Room smelled old and musty too. Not worth the rate we paid. However, with the holiday and location we understand why. The place needs a major renovation .
7.0 Good
Pros: Check in was a busy time with several families waiting but the front desk was pleasant and efficient.
Cons: Breakfast ran until 9am. When I came in at 8:45am there were only a few muffins and some dry cereal. I saw other guests with eggs on their plates but there were none available. The staff member I saw in the dining area seemed disappointed when she saw me and kept putting things away. I got the hint.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It allowed dogs
Cons: Needed updating bad ! Loud near road

8.0 Excellent
Pros: What beakfast??.
Cons: We went for breakfast but the door was locked and no attendant was in sight.
5.0 Okay
Pros: having booked last minute- it was available..and that was the best part. It was fine- exactly what you would expect for a Super 8..thin bedding and towels , crusty peeling plaster on the walls...but its a Super 8..
Cons: I knew going into it that it was going to be lower quality and feel kinda gross- cheap sheets and towels, dirty carpet, and peeling walls. But it was cheap and had availability at the last minute..
4.3 Okay
Pros: No much
Cons: I didn’t rest, so bad that I woke up with a headache. Walls are thin, and you can hear all the cars driving up and down the road. Bed was uncomfortable Pillows were flat, seems thousands of people slept on them. They were horrible. I don’t understand how management is okay providing these pillows to their guest, by the way one pillow per person. Refrigerator and microwave in the bathroom. Place was not very clean neither.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly and safe
Cons: Parking sucked
4.3 Okay
Cons: The room was hot. No air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The light over the sink in the bathroom flickered badly. I didn't use it because it gave me a headache. Also I had a hard time figuring out how to get the water to come out of the overhead shower head instead of the "handheld" shower head.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: No air conditioner. Poor beds and dated too
6.3 Good
Cons: Not really anywhere to walk my dogs. There was an area behind the hotel that would have been OK IF it would have been mowed...
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to bay
Cons: Traffic was loud
6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was okay. I bought food at the store to warm up while we stay here. I like yogurt and coffee.
Cons: Ice machine did not have tray while getting ice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfy room. In room coffee
Cons: People next door smoking pot & talking loudly outside our door at 11pm
1.0 Poor
Pros: Absolutely nothing. Was excited about king bed and even that was a disappointment.
Cons: No a/c, no fan, no air circulation. Pillows on bed were the size of decorative pillow for a couch.Towels and sheets were stained. Total dive. One lightbulb over sink was burned out. Phone in room didn't work and couldnt get a dial tone to call front desk
