10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Location, cleanliness, facilities, good communications, good wifi, carefully thought out decor, warm atmosphere, value, you name it.
Cons: The only thing was the strong bread smell wifting upstairs from the Boulangerie. But it was really minor, a slightly open window fixed that and all the rest was ample compensation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely renovated room in a vibrant neighborhood.
Cons: Due to the bakery below, there was a distinctive bakery smell in the room (personally, i didn't mind but some people might find that annoying).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was situated in a quieter area of Bordeaux and just a short walk from the nearest car park. There were a few local restaurants nearby. The Cité du Vin and other main attractions were was just a leisurely stroll away.
Cons: We didn’t mind but I could mention the apartment is on the third floor with no lift and the stairs were stone and little steep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, the room was very clean and well appointed. This was exactly the stay I was looking for - charming, stylish, clean and right in the center with walking distance to all key cultural attractions. I liked the balcony and a view from windows. Convenience of restaurants downstairs, great bakery, many coffee shops in the morning, everything is right there for a perfect start of the day. The host was very friendly and helpful. You do not need a car to get around Bordeaux.
Cons: Car parking was additional $19 per day and a bit complicated in a multi-story parking couple blocks away. The smell of a bakery directly downstairs was rather strong at times, especially early in the morning. We ended up opening windows to let the fresh air in and it worked out fine for us. The bakery was great though, so I am not complaining, but I could see how some may be bothered by it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a fabulous place, so close to walk to downtown, comfy bed, very, very clean and the Welcome Master of the House was extremely courteous, helpful, and punctual ! We'd go back in a heartbeat! This place as well as Bordeaux is "Hidden Gem" - off the usual tourist route -- but fabulous in any kind of weather!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely charming place, comfy bed, lovely helpful owner. Thank you Pierre. I would recommend this place to anyone.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing. Walking distance to everything but also so many public transport options within 100 m. Easy to access from airport with public transport (bus 1 followed by bus 4 or 15) Clear access instructions so I could get in even when no one was working at the property. Spacious room with fridge and some snacks and refreshments provided.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked this place for my parents; they cannot stop raving about it. They described it as one of the best places they have stayed at (and they are well-traveled)! They loved the layout of the room as well as the breakfast, and found the staff outstanding. They mentioned being so well taken care of. They were very sad to leave, and hope to be back one day. This also means I will be definitely booking there if ever I am in Bordeaux!
Cons: Nothing! They loved absolutely everything about their stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and comfortable and we were fortunate to have French doors that opened to a private terrace. The staff were wonderful in providing excellent restaurant recommendations and reservations. We were also able to purchase tickets to the Cite du Vin directly from the hotel.

Cons: Everything. !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elegant, welcoming, stylish and comfortable . Friendly staff. Will definitely consider staying again if in the area and recommend to friends

A stay at Hôtel Vatel places you in the heart of Bordeaux, within a 15-minute walk of Bordeaux Wine and Trade Museum and Contemporary Art Museum. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
6.0 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but we were not told that this is a training facility for hospitality students. With that in mind you might expect higher than average service? No, just swarms of students in front of the building and rushing down hallways to make classes, posters on walls and doors re: curriculum and advertising careers. Although the staff at reception were polite and accommodating, It was an unexpected experience.
Cons: The hotel is not in a pretty part of the town. Next time we will opt for closer to the Villiage center, within walking distance to the better restaurants, the fountains and markets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a surprise ,stayed for 1 night on a shopping trip ,was expecting an average 4 star , but this hotel should be a 5 star , the room ,the service and especially the restaurant was excellent GREAT VALUE HOTEL WITH PURE QUALITY SERVICE
Cons: I liked everything it was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally clean, spacious and well appointed room, my husband loved the robe. Large bed, very comfortable, and great bathroom with excellent shower. Staff was great, young people and very sweet. We loved our dinner in the restaurant, it exceeded our expectations, was delicious, inventive and beautifully plated. We had the 34 euro dinner, and preferred it to the 44 euro menu. Seemed a better value, and the more expensive meal had a crazy tabletop dessert which was an inventive idea, but looked awful when people were done. Meanwhile, our dessert was a work of art, a pear with garnishments that were delicious, elegant and pretty to look at. I will stay here on each of my visits to Bordeaux, glad to have found it.
Cons: It was all great. Breakfast was good, except the scrambled eggs, but otherwise all was excellent.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean and comfortable and all staff were friendly and efficient.
Cons: Breakfast was very limited.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, friendly people, good access to the city
Cons: Shower which was high tech only gave slow water. Perhaps due to 4th floor!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: very comfortable hotel - a playground for the co-residing hotel management school, good breakfast, great location between the old town and La Cite du Vin, free street parking
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very young staff but very professional and extremely nice. the room was clean and beautiful. huge and tasty breakfast
Cons: pillows were a little uncomfortable on my opinion.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set in an old townhouse, nice grand staircase and rooms. The decoration in my room was modern, with a walk-in shower and a small seating area. The staff was extremely nice, helpful and caring and made my stay very pleasant. Also: taste the wines in the veranda downstairs.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and comfortable rooms.
Cons: A bit noisy the day we were there, and lift wasn’t working.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The service as very good - extremely friendly and helpful.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location and exceptionally friendly staff. The common areas were lovely.
Cons: The room was a bit stark for the price when compared to the five star hotel In Bordeaux where I stayed much less expensively at the end of my trip. I was surprised by the value discrepancy. The comfort issue that could be easily improved is to offer several types of pillows rather than only the firm foam that was in my room. That said, I felt that my room was very clean and the mattress and linens were quite comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A true gem of a hotel, steeped in history and a perfect location to explore Bordeaux. The staff were a delight and couldn’t do enough to help. Will definitely return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So helpful and friendly staff. Amazing comfortable bed! Great location for sight seeing shopping and just having a wonder.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very very comfortable, and this property is excellent value for money. Centre of town was a gentle 20-minute walk, and the staff were happy to pack our breakfast because we had an early start.
Cons: We stayed on the first floor, and we could hear the clackity-clack of feet/shoes above us. Might be solved by staying on the second floor, but that means you’d have to bring your bags up the stairs (no lifts, like most of Bordeaux). The parking was also a bit hard to enter/exit from, and it’s at the back of the property (accessible through a different street), but they gave excellent instructions and at €10/day was very reasonable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms and comfy beds in a quiet area minutes from the city centre. Absolutely perfect!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: New clean apartments not far from center, very clean. Quiet place and with convenient parking in the garage nearby.
Cons: We asket two separate blankets in advance, but did not recieve it.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was located on a quiet street, not too far from the city centre. The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: I booked this hotel partly because of the great reviews by other guests about the helpfulness of the staff. There was no one at reception on our arrival, despite us arriving during their limited reception hours. Perhaps others won't mind, but I had expected there to be someone around to greet us on arrival and perhaps to answer a few questions about the area. I get more service staying at an AirBnB than this!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, 15 mins walk to city center, clean room with continental breakfast included. Luckily we found street parking in front of the building.

9.0 Excellent
Cons: Didn’t update coffee cups on the second day
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location in terms of ease of getting into the city was very good.
Cons: The traffic noise. There was only about a 4-hour period overnight when it was relatively quiet, but outside that it was impossible to sleep. For a modern hotel we would have expected better sound insulation.

Congrats to all staff members. Rooms are very comfortable, good bathroom and a coffee machine available in the room with complimentary capsules.
Cons: Everything excellent!
7.7 Good
Cons: The full breakfast for 17E was a glamorous continental breakfast, no hot food. We couldn’t get or buy just a croissant, but pastries and croissants were offered later for free. No ice available. No bar or lounge, just the small room they call a lounge/bar which is used for breakfast. Rooms are very small. We got the larger comfort room and it was small. No where to store clothes. We lived out of our suitcase for 3 days. No upgrade offered because we didn’t book through their website
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, location
Cons: Slight confusion between the 2 hotels around the corner of each hotel. Taxi was waiting at wrong hotel
5.8 Okay
Pros: The central location
Cons: I found my room very small for having paid more than € 160 and even though the bathroom was recently renovated, the carpeting was worn and didn't come over as hygienic.

Pros: The location is super convenient yet quiet, and the room was quite spacious for the centre of Bordeaux. The amenities, coffee maker, mini bar...all are nicely equipped to make the séjour more cosy. 24 hours reception, the proper space between each room. It has a nice bar area next to reception where you can sit down and have drinks or coffee. I have found it quite cosy and useful, despite there are many cafés once you go out from the hotel.
Cons: Nothing....as l quite liked this hotel when l stayed before, so have used it again.

Cons: My "queen room" was cramped even compared to other rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central.
Cons: Not an easy journey from airport on public transport.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location Charming efficient staff It was my 3rd stay and I will be back
5.7 Okay
Pros: Could not be closer to the center of all activities-pedestrian shopping streets, riverfront , opera, restaurants and cafes, trams, tourist info center. room accessories. Positives focus on reception staff-very courteous, most helpful with restaurant bookings, taxis etc. if looking for clean, moderately priced hotel for basic functional needs in the core of this beautiful 18th and 19th century city, you can't go wrong.
Cons: Unfortunately lobby, reception, bar areas very outdated, dark and unappealing. Rooms extremely small for couples.Breakfast buffet very ordinary in a dreary second floor space. Not worth 14 euros unless included in room price.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly, good breakfast, clean.

Pros: Just location and breakfast
Cons: Room , stuff , expensive, no any amenities for 4 star hotel
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Staff could not be more unhelpful Rooms very small
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is at a very central spot and right now there was a christmas market right in front with hot red wine that was a nice surprise and an additional bonus to having this hotel. It is very close to restaurants and central sightseeing locations as well as the opera. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. There are bath robes in the bathroom and a heated floor! Everyone at the reception and the spa is very nice. The spa is very private (only a few people are allowed at a time) and has really nice facilities so it is very relaxing. The massage is very good and relaxing too with nice smelling natural oils. We liked the breakfast as well- the 9 euro breakfast has coffee, juice, cereal, bread and jams and a 19 euro breakfast that has cooked english breakfast and other options. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and will return if we come back to Bordeaux!
Cons: There is no parking at the hotel but there is public parking very close by that the hotel has a reduced rate for - around 25 euro per day. The restaurant and coffee at the hotel are not open all the time so you have to time when to go for coffee. If you want to use the massages and the spa make sure you book in advance because the spa is very small thus gets full quickly and there might not be an open spot if you wait till the last moment. We called the spa directly and one of us still couldnt book a massage because it was full. Also the rooms are quite small but we expected that and there is a bath tub so if you have a disability it might be hard to get into.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personnel
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location, the breakfast was excellent, restaurant staff super nice, some front desk staff helpful. The bathroom floor was heated!
Cons: I got the worse room possible in terms of no window opening, no fresh air & too stuffy. The room was clean & well appointed but the lack of a window opening was a total bummer. Also, window faced a wall. Don’t get room 203!

Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff very nice.’ Bed was a little hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fabulous 3 night stay here. The owner gave us a free room upgrade. Breakfast was super, local produce and we were asked which pastries we would prefer. The facilities are excellent, to have a small kitchen area at your disposal with coffee etc and a fridge to use was really helpful and courtyard areas with outdoor seating. The pool area was lovely and the location very quiet and peaceful, but still easy access to the city (a 2km straight walk). The cleanliness of the room was unquestionable, absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Good attention to detail with plugs and mirrors in the right place etc. Shutters at the windows etc. Really exceptional. Street parking is free on the surrounding roads. It says “payant” on the road but there was a local resident revolt and so it is totally free.
Cons: We can’t think of anything!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place with great service and real attention to detail. The breakfast was lovely and the pool was nice and cooling after a day of sightseeing - it’s bigger than what it looks like on the pictures. Highly recommend!
Cons: Location could have been more central and there doesn’t seem to be much to see/ do in the immediate area. But we knew that so it was fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Just great

Pros: The pool is much appreciated.
Cons: The walk to and from the city may be safe but some of the streets on the way are very empty and gloomy.

Pros: Very new bed and breakfast, nice furniture, quiet area, close to the center, very clean
Cons: They have three rooms, two of which are very nice. We unfortunately had the third room in the basement without a real window. I think this should be clearly indicated in the booking process.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just back from a couple of days in Bordeaux The L'Echoppe des Bouilles is a truly lovely B&B to stay.Host Aurore went that extra mile to make our stay a memorable one. The room was spacious,( we had the sky room, it was lovely to see the stars at night ) The king size bed was really comfy. The breakfast was excellent with homemade yogurts / jams and cakes, and sets you up for the day. The centre of Bordeaux was about a 15 minute stroll away or if you preferred to take the tram,it is a couple of minutes walk away from the B&B to the tram stop. If you plan to go to Bordeaux i would highly recommend the L'Echoppe des Bouilles

Pros: A beautifully renovated property, exceptionally clean with all the facilities we needed.Well positioned for tram and bus services or a 15 minute walk to Bordeaux centre. Aurore is very friendly and informative. We would highly recommend and will definitely return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stephan was an excellent host. He offered very helpful information and recommendations allowing us to get the most from our visit to Bordeaux. He provided delicious home cooked breakfasts including homemade cakes and jams. Very comfortable bed, air conditioning was great, the house was immaculately clean and tidy, close to the tram and also walking distance to the city centre. Would highly recommend staying at this lovely bed and breakfast.
Cons: Everything was great!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, 5-minute walk to public transportation/tram. Comfortable and nicely decorated rooms. A small patio/garden area is also enjoyable for the included breakfast or relaxing when the weather is nice. The owners are wonderful and live nearby - we had to leave extra early on our final morning and they had breakfast already set out for us. If you will have a car, you should ask for off-street parking when you reserve your room (it is limited).
Cons: Nearby parking is expensive. Free parking is about 5 minutes away and harder to come by. The owners do have limited off-street parking that may be available and should be reserved ahead. Also, as most everyone takes the tram or has a car, there are few corner markets or restaurants in the area and may not be open on weekends.

Pros: Very friendly staff, breakfast was tasty.

Cons: Absolutely nothing!
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was great, clean and very nice.
Cons: The night we arrived was a marathon which closed off all local streets for a mile so we had to walk with our bags. The band for the marathon was playing outside our window until 1:30 am. No notification from the hotel. Had I known, I would have booked a different day or hotel. Hotel concierge also didn’t warn me the trains would all be booked the next day due to the marathon. We had to wait 3 hours for an available train. I had asked the concierge how early we needed to buy tickets and she said we only needed to arrive 20 min early. We missed our dinner at our destination.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Traditional decor, classic elegance, and very well train staff. The breakfast was excellent. The spa was exceptional.

Pros: We have stayed here before and the proximity to Gare St Jean and trams is ideal. The staff are truly friendly, smiling and helpful.
Cons: The room is up to date and very comfortable. On the down side, the toilet and shower are a little small and awkward to access. But the shower is great.

Pros: Staff, breakfast, bed, very clean, parking available
Cons: Rooms and bathroom way too small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice room, not big, but have anything you need. The stuff was very kind and eager to help. In a bad luck I was ill, and we got anything we wanted and more.all in a smile.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast had everything we liked, including good hot options. There was something for everyone.
Cons: There wasn't enough space to put all the things we wanted to unpack. There weren't any towel rails to allow the towels to dry properly, so the towel that we hung on the hook was still damp at the end of the day.

Pros: Very clean and very helpful staff. Brilliant location for the station.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff, informative and helpful.
Cons: For some reason there was no room cleaning during our stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very central, clean and staff very nice.
Cons: We were given a larger room, which in fact was ok, but it had a handicap bathroom, so far so good, however the shower is was not ok, because there was no bathtub or shower cabin, the shower was directly into the bathroom and there was a drain in the middle. I would prefer a normal bathtub.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, the hotel was very clean
Cons: WC was separated from bathroom
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and spacious. Got a room upgrade as well.
Cons: Room was crazy hot. Even with the thermostat turned off the heating vents still pumped out warm air. Had to have the windows open constantly. Very noisy as there is a lot of drunks on the streets of Bordeaux on a Saturday night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect cental location. Hot strong shower. All in all that was a great staying. Recommend that place with confidence.
Cons: Nothing major I would complain about.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good size room, great facilities, lots of storage space.
Cons: The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, the sliding door to separate the room would not close fully, the bathroom door was poorly designed with a gap in the door so it wasn’t very private which was an issue as 3 adults were staying in the 1 bedroom apartment which is advertised for 4 adults.
