comfortable pub and apparently an old coaching inn; had a pleasant feel, as if one had visited before. just outside the town centre and a short walk from everything; apparently, the house can sometimes offer free parking, but not when I stayed, though this doesn't matter much, as there is a public car park just over the road, where you can pay ahead for the next day if you arrive in the evening; the breakfast was good and included in the price :-) the single room looked out over the road at the front and was adequate.
nothing really; the road in front gets busy quite early with the inevitable traffic noise.
location was excellent for my needs
it's just tired . needs refurb . bathroom blind . old . dirty. paint around the windows peeling . such a shame . musty smell .
Very noisey room with rotted windows. Did not sleep well.
Decent accommodation, convenient to the Caen Locks, Wadworth Brewery, and town center. Parking was not an issue, though we were early arrivers; it might not be so easy for folks arriving late since the parking dedicated to the hotel is limited.
The location of the Hotel is right on a main street with a cross walk outside the front, so there was constant traffic noise and intermittent beeping from the crosswalk light. The hotel obviously recognizes this can be an issue though and even provides earplugs with the toiletries.
Friendly staff who were helpful
The full English Breakfast was fine but not brilliant. It would have been nice to have had a more local feel - sausages from a local source. I enjoyed the Eggs Benedictine the next day much more.
