Our dorm room was at the far end of campus from the main entrance and right over a loud busy road
The single room I stayed in was very cleverly furnished, making an excellent use of space, so even though it wasn't enormous, it felt spacious and comfortable. I would stay there again.
Good central location.
Huge extra costs for using swimming pool, wi-fi connection and lots of noise. Leak from upstairs unit ... causing flooding in our bathroom ... water coming in through light fixture late at night. Totally irresponsible tenant in the unit above. Staff came and tried to assure us. My spouse is a retired rocket scientist ... he knows plumbing problems and there are big issues with our unit.
I loved the hotel. The reception was a very professional bureau of world-class valetting standard, informative and polite, with assistance of a real nature, both escorting me to my room by hand and by transport. The room was immaculate and had historical value, evocative of a past in Dublin, with towels and a nice soap provided. The breakfasts provided in the fare were lavish yet precious, and laid on at a very good time, without fail, every day. A great feeling of freedom predominates in the grounds throughout the sojourn.
The bed service was atrocious. Suffice to say, that my favourite and special magnolia soap was stolen while I was out of the room, and no effort made to return it.
Location was fabulous. Also the fact that you are staying in a historically important site. Also quiet and relaxing.
Cobblestoned pathways at the entrance is interesting for walking- but not for trawling your suitcase across. It might be useful to recommend using the Pearse Street gate when bringing in luggage, rather than come through the College Green.
