Quality of suites. Great full breakfast. Firendliness of staff. The first night of our stay, we returned to room to find carlpet soaking wet below the desk. Called front desk to report problem. Maintenance man was there in less than 5 minutes, found the leak behind a plumbing panel. Went to fron desk and returned in less than 5 minutes with keys to a new room. Offered to help us move. Waited outside and then went in to solve the problem. A bit of inconvenience but problem resolved very quickly.
One big duvet on bed instead of multiple layers to adjust. Plumbing leak on first night, BUT see likes.

We stayed here before in May this year and enjoyed our stay. This time they were renovating all the rooms and we got one of the newly renovated King suites which was beautiful. All the hall and breakfast areas had new carpet and paint and still had lots more to be done over the next month. Lots of workers and noise going on in the public areas so be aware if this bothers you. You still get the free breakfast and happy hour drinks but things are moved around a little each day. We were out for most of the day plus we didn't hear any noise after 5 pm or so. We used this as a base for day trips to parks and nature areas of the Everglades And even a day to key largo. You're only a few minutes from I-75 and can bypass all the traffic on US 41 when going north or south. We enjoyed a big breakfast in the morning and the evening drinks when we got back from a day of sightseeing. A beautiful park with historical buildings is the Koreshan State Park located just about 10 minutes down the street. We found it very interesting and has beautiful grounds to explore.
Now for the reason of only a 4 star rating or less. During the renovations all of the room doors were removed and replaced after the room was done. The problem is they were not replaced properly on a lot of the rooms and don't close or lock properly. Be sure to check your door and make sure it closes and locks completely, ours did not. I reported this the day we checked in at the front desk and the lady made a note and said she would report it right away. Well it was not fixed. We came back to our room the 3rd day and sure enough when I tried the door handle it opened without unlocking it with my card. Someone had entered our room during the day and hadn't checked to see if it locked when they closed the door plus it was 4pm and our room was not touched by housecleaning. I immediately when down to the front desk and told them what happened. Luckily a construction boss was at the desk and he went up with me and checked the door and got some tools to fix it. He had it working perfectly in about 20 minutes. I thanked him and my wife and I checked our room to see if there was anything missing which there wasn't. The maid came by about 4:30 pm and we told her to skip cleaning the room so late and just give us some clean wash cloths and hand towels. She didn't speak a word of English and brought the wrong stuff. We tried to explain the best we could and finally she came back a second time with twice the amount we needed but we just took them and let it go. I have no problem with foreign workers but they need to at least understand the basic words to do their job. They don't have to speak fluent English but just enough to do their job correctly. This was the second time I Have had a problem at this hotel. The last time I started to check in May I was told they didn't have my reservation so I ended up taking a room I didn't want . I called booking .com and they corrected it and got me another room the next day like the one I reserved. I'm not sure who was at fault but it was corrected. I have a feeling the hotel is understaffed because of cost cuts and that's why things don't get done. A person can only do do so many things in 8 hours. Maybe the upper management should run the hotel for a week and see if everything goes smooth like they expect their workers to do??

The TV in the bedroom wouldn't turn on.
Price was less at the hotel front desk than booking it via Kayak And next time I will check it before I book it on line via Kayak Hotel rate was $99 at front desk with breakfast included
