It was ok for the price
Got lost for 1 hour trying to find it, gps sends you to a different location, a lot of walking involved (20-30 minute walk from where the taxi leaves you) person in charge told us we should have called when we were at the blue gate and they would have send someone to show us the way, but this instructions should be disclosed at the time of booking, not when you already spent more than an hour trying to find them. Hotel was build in what seemed to be an old house, needs remodeling, walls have no noise blocking at all you can hear everything.
The Riad was beautiful and like described. Also very well located in the medina. The breakfast was really nice with good food and fresh juice.
We had the smallest, darkest room, but therefore cheapest room – though that was just unlucky. The actual problem was the bad welcome. We didn't feel welcome at all when we arrived and this continued. We spend times in Riads before where the people were really heart warming and after a long ride and being in such a different culture, you just want people to make you feel welcome. This was not the case and it made us feel bad and we didn't want to spend more time there than necessary.
The oil fragrance, main lobby decor, flower accents, location in medina
Nothing comes to mind
Beautiful riad, great location, excellent staff. Mohammed went over and above the call of duty to make us comfortable and even help us get from one place to another. My husband and I wanted a hammam but had limited time availability. Mohammed made one phone call, got us in right away, walked us all through the Médina to the location and we had the BEST experience! All thanks to Mohammed! He also made sure we found a certain shop we were looking for, would have arranged for someone to wash our rental car for us and made sure we had someone with a cart come and pick us up at checkout so we didn’t have to carry our backpacks on our way out. Breakfast was lovely and the mint tea was delicious. Service made our stay!
The main downfall.... the sulfur smell of sewer gas. It was very strong in our friends room. We had a two level room and it only got bad in the bathroom but our friends room was filled with the smell.
It’s my second time staying here. Amazing hospitality from Mohammed and lovely to have daily fresh towels. Breakfast to look forward to every morning. 10/10 would recommend
