Melia Madeira Mare

It is a good hotel, the stuff from the reception is very kind and helpful. The view from outside pool is very nice.

We didn't like the noise that came from outside. They said that it comes from a power generator which was located on that side of the hotel. It is not a good excuse for an 5* hotel especially because we had made the reservation with 6 months before. It's hard to belive that the room we've got was the best they could offer at that time. We had paid a partial see view room but we couldn't enjoy the view from the balcony because of the noise :( ...

This is an exceptional hotel which we booked at a great price. The room was spacious and had a nice view with a nice veranda. The staff were very friendly and helpful and quick with checking in and out. The rooms were clean but not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. It is not in the centre of Funchal but in Lido which is about a 20-30min walk away but it is in the nicest area of Madeira with shops, restaraunts and buses close by into the centre of town. It is overall a fabulous hotel that if you get a chance to stay at when they offer these great rates you should absolutely take the opportunity to do so!

Everything was almost perfect except for the cleanliness. It is a very clean hotel however the cleanliness is not as one would expect from a 5 star hotel!!
