Pros: The family owners were so friendly and helpful. The gardens were beautiful and the location was central, close to the beach and also very peaceful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, near to the beach. Place is really beautiful and very very clean. Room is comfort with a big bed, clim, beautiful bathroom. And there is the cutest cat of the world which can visit you :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This relatively small property punches well above its weight. From the moment you arrive to the time of departure you are treated with respect and kindness. The standard room contains a queen size bed and comes equipped with an a/c unit. The shower is located outside and also has a western toilet and hand basin. Complimentary two bottles of water and free wifi - I’m definitely coming back

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly people, great room. Nice garden.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great budget option for a stay in relaxed and still rather quiet Pemuteran! Just a short walk along a small alley away from the beach the location is very central with plenty of restaurant options nearby as well. The beautiful and well kept garden makes this a really enjoyable place to come "home" to after a beach day or an excursion and the terrace of the room serves as an outdoor living room. An extra mattress for our son was arranged for a very reasonable price and the breakfast was tasty and good! The snorkeling trip to Menjangan island (as the main attraction of things to do in Pemuteran) we booked via the guesthouse was good and the equipment and lunch both provided by Pondok Shindu was excellent. This family run place makes you feel very welcomed immediately and we were a bit sad to leave far too soon. Looking forward to come back one day! If you don't need a fancy hotel right at the beach with a pool - this place is highly recommended!
Cons: As common for most balinese hotels and guesthouses the room has an outdoor bathroom (which is nice and clean, no issues with moskitos or other animals either). As the rooms are next to each other sharing one long building, be prepared to hear your neighbors in their bathrooms occasionally (high walls all around, so no unintended views!). Not an issue at all for us, but maybe some people might feel uncomfortable with this...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The breakfast is bought to your room and is fillung. The grounds are just lovely and its a 50mtr walk to the beach where you can hire a sun lounge under the trees
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location . Many good restaurants around the corner .good breakfast
Cons: Not a nice beach nearby. Price way to high . Can get much better place with pool for less money . Not a good value .

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and very well taken care of.
Cons: My only problem with the hotel was the trekking they recommended. I would stay here but be hesitant about their trip recommendations. It is probably best to do trips/activities on your own. The trekking we did was a huge waste of money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I came there with a group of 7. When we arrived, we were welcomed by our names engraved on the grass at the entrance. Never seen anything like it. Later we also found our name on the bed in our rooms. It was made out of flowers. We loved the personal welcome message they left for us!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, although not as big as expected. Great location. Great room.
Cons: Unfortunately, the food at the restaurant was not so good and overpriced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place was fantastic, little touches like the welcome and flowers in the room was lovely. We felt so well looked after and every single member of staff wanted to make our experience great. The restaurant and food were also incredible and they had a lot of cocktails.
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to stay if you want to explore the North of the island. Super friendly and welcoming stuff, really good facilities and everything always really clean. Also handy to arrange activities with them, snorkeling and mangrove tours are highly recommended! There's a nice swimming pool and you can also enjoy good cocktails at the pool bar! We really enjoyed our stay at Kubuku!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place with modern, beautiful rooms and outside private bathroom. Everything very clean and well kept. Most of all: the staff was amazing! Super friendly, remember your name, nice to chat with and they are really helpful. Also the dives with Kutu were really good, and they prepared a refresher at the pool the day before diving.
Cons: Nothing to mention here.

With a stay at The Menjangan in Pejarakan, you'll be on the waterfront, within a 15-minute drive of West Bali National Park and Banyuwedang Hot Spring Water. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Planning an event in Pejarakan? This resort features 1076 square feet (100 square meters) of event facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location within West Bali National Park is excellent. We really enjoyed spending time at the small, secluded beach and taking advantage of onsite access to all sorts of activities (e.g., snorkeling, horseback riding, cooking classes, and dining). Kind and accommodating staff. Awesome place; highly recommended!
Cons: It was a bit of a journey to get from the Bali airport to the resort (~5 hours drive) but it was definitely worth it for us. The cost was also a bit high but our stay was worth the splurge.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, quiet, relaxing and you get to see lots of wildlife. It was a nice break from the busier sides of Bali. Also, a great drive there, you get to see a lot of less touristic sides of the island. Super attentive and friendly staff. The best rooms we stayed in during our stay in Bali. Lots of activities can be arranged for you, and all of very high standard. Snorkeling off Menjagan island was a totally unexpected and unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my visit to Bali. breakfast and on-site restaurants are of high standard.
Cons: Having been around Bali and having a good sense of value, we felt that the food and drinks at the restaurants while high quality, were a little overpriced and on the smaller side of portions, even relative to prices in the south of Europe. I feel that since the hotel is quite far away from other options its almost a given that all guests will be eating and drinking 3 meals a day here from an already captive market, they could do better on the overall package. Really this is my only negative comment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is wonderful, it was a magical experience
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a beach villa and were right on the shore. The restaurant was nearby (2 minute walk) and served great food. Snorkelling off the jetty was easy and great fun. Also went kayaking. We liked that everything was at the resort itself. Spa was great- massage while looking out over the bay. We should have stayed longer to have time to go to the island (next time!). Walked to the Bali tower one day which was about a 30 minute walk stopping along the way to take pics. One thing to keep in mind is that it is in the national park and not walking distance to any towns or shops. It’s also not a surf or swimming beach at the actual resort, so whether this is the right place for you will depend on what you are after for your holiday. We absolutely loved it. Trip from the airport was around 4 hours, but the hotel provided a transfer, very comfortable car with snacks and wifi, would not do this straight after the flight next time, but we were time constrained and knew it was a long drive so didn’t mind.
Cons: Nothing, we had a great time and would love to go back and spend some more time there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Beach Villa which felt magical and isolated among the forest, the Menjangan (deer), and the monkeys. And when I say among I mean peacefully hanging out only a few feet away at all different times of the day. Except for the cheeky monkeys who were sweet and harmless but would sneak whatever food they could if given the chance. Comfiest beds. Biggest outdoor bathtub with two different kinds of bath salts and bubble available for use. Amazing shower. The swimmable portion of the beach with the jetty was perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Fun safari car which you can sit on top of promptly took us to the Bali tower or the monsoon lodge whenever we needed it. Plenty of other activities available (boat/snorkeling tour, cycling, trekking, horse back riding, cooking class, spa, kayaking) all within the resort if you need it but you may just not need it at all and that’s ok. The menus at both restaurants were obviously designed by world class chefs because all of the food was delicious with fabulous presentation. The kindest staff. Eco friendly with plastics not to be seen.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay. Perfect place and staff. The proximity with nature is fascinating, pricey but definitely worth it. Thanks

10.0 Excellent
Pros: 3 air conditioned bed rooms - perfect for our family. Pancakes are the best we had in Bali. Host offers trips to Manjangan island
Cons: We had to leave after only 3 days... next time we will stay longer!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the staff were exceptional. Professional, warm, eager to help. The whole place was run professionally.
Cons: Everything was fine. Nothing needs changing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Taruna family villa for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The villa is in perfect condition and is very spacious. I stayed with my family and was in the main room with the outside bathtub which is in great condition. Most importantly, Taruna and the staff working there are very accomodating and helpful if you need to book a tour etc. The tours and activities are also cheaper than other hotels in the area. Overall, If we want to come to Pemuteran again we would definitely stay at Taruna Family Villa or maybe try the Home stay. No hesitations in recommending this wonderful place!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huge villa, a bit away from the mainroad so nice and quiet, nice garden, lots of kind staff who welcomed us and very ofte asked if we needed anything. Restaurant with great food and pool you can use for free at Taruna Botique Hotel 10 min away. We liked it.
Cons: Not much privacy because so many came by to stay hello :o) Not a problem for us, it was nice to learn a bit about Indonesians. The kitchen and specially the fridge could use a clean.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: This was the nicest place we have stayed at so far. The villa is big, every room has its own bathroom, there is a kitchen and living room. The garden is very beautiful and there is a mango tree right in front of the big terrace and a lovely seating area and a beautiful temple. There is even a roof terrace where we enjoyed some evening drinks and did some stargazing. The host is very helpful and speaks English very well, he helped us with all our inquiries and recommended some activities in Permuteran. We booked a snorkeling trip which we enjoyed. The villa is located in the village and you can walk to the beach, some warungs and a lovely sunset viewpoint, if you are up to a little bit more walking you can reach some temples with monkeys. The Taruna homestay which is also close by has a pool which you can use free of charge as well as a spa. The housekeeper was a lovely Balinese lady who cooked us amazing omelette, pancakes and other breakfast foods. Especially the bathroom is a real gem since it has a bathtub as well as a shower. It is designed really nicely since it is partly outside and looks quite Instagram-worthy. The villa offers all amenities including a safe, kitchen, TV and sound system. We were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely choose Taruna family Villa again.
7.5 Good
Pros: The house it self, the ambiance
Cons: There is a dog in the villa and barking most of the time. Shower in the single room was difficult to use and the kitchen isn't clean enough.
7.9 Good
Pros: Loved that the location is away from everything. You drive past houses where the locals live. There is no pool at the Villa but the Taruna Homestay is about a 10min walk away. Where you can use all the facilities. We do recommend to hire motorbikes. The staff has been absolutely amazing. They had a play wirh our children while we could enjoy the yummy dinner.
Cons: The dog @ the property can be annoying at times. It could be a bit cleaner in general.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: . The staff overall were lovely - it really is a small, old fashioned sort of friendly place and really, really good value for money without feeling you were doing it on the cheap. This is an old fashioned style small hotel with approx 25 individual bungalow/rooms around a courtyard garden and pool in between. Each room has an open air bathroom (just a shower) at the back and a front, covered porch with a day bed and outdoor setting in front. Beautifully clean. There is generous storage and cupboard space in the bedroom (large comfy king size bed with mosquito net) and there are bedside lights (which hotels in Bali in my experience don’t always have). There aren’t any rooms with a preferable outlook really and the gardens are beautiful with the restaurant overlooking the pool. Breakfast is good; a plate of fruit, fruit juice, tea/coffee and a choice of traditional Indonesian breakfasts or 2 eggs with toast, or banana or pineapple pancakes. When the hotel has a larger tour booking they put on a buffet; but no items are labelled so I expected little fried tofu bites and they were chicken and or vegetable! (the homemade Indonesian ‘pastries’ are to die for). Basically the brekkie staff could not be more obliging ; don’t fancy the buffet - they would happily provide eggs cooked how you fancied them. All the food at the restaurant was good and VERY reasonably priced. The stand out was that days catch - we got shown the actual fish on offer and asked which we wanted There is an extremely cheap laundry connected to the hotel - 20.000 rupiah equivalent to $2 Aus $ per kilo wash. Location: The hotel is really conveniently placed down a quiet lane off the busy main road that runs through Pemuteran. Turn right out of the hotel for a wide selection of eating places. Walk through the back gate down the side of the Turtle Hatchery behind the hotel and you get to see the beach (about 50 m all up)where the hotel has 8 lounges for its residents’ use.
Cons: On a busy day you could find difficulty with getting a free lounge around the pool. We found the pool was over chlorinated; two of our cossies got a bit miscoloured and I would recommend taking goggles especially if you have kids who will live in the pool. The rather bare communal area does have a fridge though which we helped ourselves to using, as the bedrooms don’t have them. There is no water filter either - you are left two small bottles of water in your room overnight. One or two of the young men at the front desk were a bit dozy, muddling aspects of our booking and the time for our departure pick up. (Take a copy of your booking if you have made any special requests etc) The women on reception were much more reliable. Our only disappointment food-wise was that you could swim up to the pool bar and order iced coffees, fresh juices or a beer, but the restaurant does not offer any European food, so you couldn’t order some chips or a sandwich for a poolside lunch on those days you wanted to veg around the pool. The down side of the cheap laundry was that if they are busy with a lot of people checking out they will say they are too busy to do your laundry (!)on the other hand the first time we used them we got clothes back the same day! Over all a fab place far more positives than negatives and I am mentioning them to provide a useful review
6.7 Good
Pros: Moved in to a deluxe room - pillows way softer, air con quiet and no neighbour noise...slept beautifully! Breakfast dining area staff lovely.
Cons: Standard room we had no sleep as was very noisy from the aircon and neighbours you could clearly hear every move from. Reception staff very cold. Sadly no info about lounges at beachfront or snorkelling advice at beach...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The common areas from the hotel are great (garden, swimming pool with the bar, sunbeds on the beach (which is 1min by walk). The staff (especially bar/restaurant) is really nice and always smiling. The breakfast is good and copious as it’s a buffet. The mosquito net from the room was very helpful, they clean the room everyday. We recommend this place for a stay at Pemuteran
Cons: Concept of the toilets in the shower is not great (everything is wet). Bathroom not as clean as other areas (because of its structure and materials). Cats begging for food at the restaurant were a bit annoying. They accept credit card but charge 3% in addition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location walk to beach. Rooms are fantastic and the layout of the hotel grounds are great. Staff are very service focussed. Pool is clean and the hotel has a great pool bar
Cons: Breakfast is a bit boring and the drinks served at the Bar should be served a lot colder

Cons: Bit pricey
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just fine. The staff where friendly, everything was clean, the service was correct. Over all happy. There could have been more nighttime entertainment of activities, but all was good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Eden Villa was amazing!!! We ended up extending our time at this resort which was easy and seamless. So relaxing and accommodating. Everyone on staff was excellent. The spa services and staff were awesome. Planning on returning again when we come back to Bali. The value for the money was remarkable.
Cons: If possible would have been nice to have (only added bonuses) Flower bath options, pool rafts to float on in private villas. The option for softer pillows and bed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the pool villa. Villa was excellent. Even had our own pool. Restaurant was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, facilities. We had 4 dives over two days and the dive staff at BioRock was fantastic. The breakfast was food, rooms clean, and staff really friendly.
Cons: Amazing location and staff. Keep up the great work!!

Pros: We were in a villa. It was amazing. The pool and outside garden were fantastic. Some things like the kitchen and bathrooms were getting old- but certainly clean and functional Will be staying here again with the family! Airport pickup can be arranged by the hotel upon request. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.
6.7 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, nice shower and swimming pool. Homestay is located 5mins from the beach.
Cons: The wifi was veery slow, the breakfast was small and not really tasty. The sink in bathroom was not working before we arrived and was fixed after chasing the staff 1.5 day later. No towel change within our 6day stay and even at the begining they were already a bit dirty. Water tank was empty for whole day.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: · The accommodation was really quiet and nice. Very clean and comfortable rooms and the open bathroom is lovely! The pool is clean and a good place to relax as well. ·
Cons: The breakfast was only one pancake and the free drinking water was empty. The transfer service is a bit too expensive compared to others as well. But we would definitely recommend the homestay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay at Dimpil. Incredible value for money! Huge rooms, outdoor bathroom with hot water, high ceilings. Restaurant next door good too. And staff organised all snorkel trips and transfers very easily. Thank for a great stay!
Cons: A few more banana loungers around the pool would be good but you’re out and about most of the day so this really doesn’t matter too much. A pool for that price at all is amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, nicely decorated with attention for detail, very helpful and kind staff and all that for a fair price.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
7.5 Good
Pros: The pool clean enough
Cons: have to change the room for some reason
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the beach and many nice restaurants. The room is very big and comfortable and we loved the outdoor bathroom. The garden of the homestay is beautiful and quiet and it is nice to sit outside on the terrace.
Cons: Would not recommend to book the breakfast because it is rather small for the price (one plain pancake or omlette + coffee/tea).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - location - quiet - price - clean - good service Good quiet place, really nice people. We spend 7 days here because we had our wedding ceremony. This place was close to my family-inlaw. The room is clean and daily cleaned. Warm water. People say the roosters are annoying but it really was quiet. Ive seen much much worse in north bali. I was little worried, because my wife wanted to go here because close to family. But it really was quiet! Beds are soft and comfy. On our wedding day they made the bed beautiful with flowers. Definitly come again and thank you dimpil for make our (busy) week relax and comfy. Staff is great picked us up and bring us to places if we wanted. The price is really nice for what you get!
Cons: - Airco little noisy but not annoying - advice to buy bug spray at the local store, because muskito net not really close completly. (But you should always carry that with you).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice big rooms great facilities great location
Cons: Shower was very average and quite dirty on the floor. I showered in thongs Staff turned off ac after they cleaned the room so very hot to come back to after a day out. No cold drink with breakfast unless you paid just tea and coffee

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice glamping experience. Private beach suitable for swimming and snorkeling Good restaurant – a lot of breakfast options
Cons: They were not able to arrange a scooter rental – come on, we’re in Bali. You don’t want to get sick here as it is very far from everything and they are not really prepared for that. When it gets windy the tent flaps a lot. Toilet directly in the room is not for everyone.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This property is located in an amazing location as you can see the beautiful beach with many kind of fish that you can see just by swimming at the shore. The room is quite comfortable, and they gave us the best view there. Really appreciate it. The pool and the restaurant is very nice to spend time there. I wish I have more time to enjoy this wonderful property.
Cons: You have to be ready for the winds. Not just in the afternoon, but also in the night. As we are stay in the “glamorous tent”, that might wake you up from your sleep. Also, be concerned for any insects in the rooms, like ants and others.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful and relaxing place. We had a really good moment and felt completely disconnected and calme. The spa offers different care & massage (reasonable prices). It’s definitely a place where you should book a daily massage or care for yourself, I personally loved it and these were my precious moments! The staff was really kind and discreet at the same time, which is really appreciated.
Cons: The hotel is quite far from the airport. The transfert cost charged by the hotel for a driver is high, 1’250’000 IDR (for one way...) and they are not open to negotiate it..
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Resort where life is easy :) The location, the food and the facilities were great!. They have a lovely Spa too! We took it easy for a couple days and it was all that we needed. The "Glamping" tent was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was just amazing. Staff so friendly and inviting and the views magnificent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view!!! We arrived at night and when we woke up next morning we were astonished by the view from the room. Everything was amazing: the food, the staff, the pool, the location, the sunset. We wanted a different experience from an usual resort and we got more than we hoped for. We enjoyed the fact that it was not a very crowded resort and we could enjoyed the place fully. It actually sold us on the concept of glamping.
Cons: Only a small annoyance, the fact that we had to pay additionally for the shuttle to the nearest ATM. Since the place is secluded and there was no ATM on the property it felt like this could have been a complimentary service for one trip for example. Not a big issue though.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked the atmosphere and the views from the resort. The cove in front of the resort and the views towards the mountain range and volcanoes in East Java was beautiful, and the stars at night!
Cons: The shower area did not have a proper bund to keep water within it so water overflowed out of it frequently. Another minor area for improvement -staff at the restaurant was friendly but quality of cocktails could be improved. Other than that, it was generally good.

Pros: First off all the staff (Ketut Katya and all the others) and the owner Suki are really kind and helpfully. (They even organized me some frangipani cuttings). On arrival I got an free upgrade. The bungalow and especially the bathroom (including warm water in the shower) were very clean and had a nice design. Also the garden is very well kept with a clean pool. The food in the restaurant is excellent und quiet cheap. Some people might complain because of the traffic noise - I didn't care and slept well every night. (The owner just opened a second place called "Kubu Padi Wooden House", which is located nearby in a more quiet location. Also worth a check!) Also have to mention is the excellent dive school five meters away - one of the best in the area. Will definitely be back next year!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, they have a good cook. We have good meals in the evening too. The staff was very helpful when I had an infection and asked about the local doctor. The manager requested the doctor to come to me at the hotel but when that was not possible the hotel staff drove me to the local clinic about 10/15 mins away. He stayed with me and acted as interpreter when we arrived and supported me to collect medication etc. this was all without the expectation of any reward or cost to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff - excellent Breakfast- great Location - good Grounds - beautiful Room - big / clean / fridge
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A very nice place, with a beautiful fruit garden and a passionated gardener. The people of Suka Sari are very commited and eager to help you with anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The customer service at this hotel is exceptional, All staff are very friendly and helpful and genuinely care about the wellbeing of guest. The rooms are very clean and the grounds and pool are beautifully kept. The breakfast selection is good and lunch and dinner includes tasty Balinese and Western food. A very short stroll across the road and past one restaurant takes you straight to beautiful and peaceful Pemuteran Beach,
Cons: There are no negatives to this hotel. It is conveniently located, clean, and set in beautiful grounds. The customer service is outstanding.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed immensely the location of this property and the pool area! It was great being able to chill and cool off in the pool. The service was amazing and staff were so kind and helpful.
Cons: The things we didn’t like about the property were minuscule compared to the items we did, but the room was quite dark in colours. You nearly had to have the lights on the whole time inside the room. If you wanted some downtime by yourself in the room or just wanted to get away from the sun you kind of hated going back into the space due to this.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bery friendly and helpful staff, fair prices for additional organization (scooter, fishing trip...), very good and not expensive restaurant. The beach can be reached in 5 min on foot. The hotel is located within a village area. Shops, spa... are just around the corner. There is a beatiful reef at the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and pool are beautiful very relaxing. Room nice and clean and loved the outdoor bathroom. staff were all lovely and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Cons: Wifi was hit and miss. In the room we were in there was only one bedside table which is a bit strange.

6.7 Good
Pros: Spacious villa with pool
Cons: Third stay in 10 years Stayed in Villa 6 - has become quite shabby and needs upgrading. Disliked brown blanket between two sheets on bed - became very crumpled. For the price why do they not have decent duvet cover
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet private beautiful location right on the beach. Can snorkel directly off the beach. Easy walking to lots of lovely local restaurants. Meals at resort also very nice and good value. Our 4 bedroom villa very spacious with our own pool and water slide Staff very nice Would highly recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing on the beach with super service and fruits and juice. And we didn’t have to wait. The swimming pool in our private villa was great with warm water. And the garden beautiful. Very close is Warung with local food , super market and scooter rental. Staff was Very nice
Cons: After 1 pm there was No water in the ocean for swimming due to the high tides. But everywherw in Bali is the same
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The villas are amazing!!! The private pools, the food, the atmosphere. It is not cheap but it is worth every euro.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful
Cons: Spa could be better
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Private pool in the villa, closeness to the beach and the most renowned diving center (Reef Seen) in the village. Extremely spacious bedroom.
Cons: Welcome drink, fresh juice, or bottle in the tank provided in the kitchen, was not so fresh, to the point of some stomach problems in the following 3 days. Resort, though very luxurious, already a bit run down (running toilet, blocked sink, loose tiles in pools). I'm sure that after total renovation it would be just superb.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great restaurant just on the beach
Cons: room not sound proof. we could hear the traffic noise during the night. I recommend a room closer to the beach.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived at Amertha Villas, we were surprised by how spacious the resort has been set up. The villas are all situated with an own big private garden and large pools, between all the villas there was also lots of space with perfect green grass and beautifull trees and plants, so we could easily walk from our own villa to the restaurant or beach without invading anyones privacy. We had one of the smaller villas in the back, these have 2 large bedrooms with both a spacious bathrooms, perfect for us since we we’re with just two. There is also a large outside kitchen. The villa and garden were very well maintained and kept clean, ofcourse the villa has some spots that could be updated, but nothing to worry about. The staff is all very polite and always willing to assist with anything. The resort is situated directly on the beach and has plenty of sunbeds and towels to go around, it also has a nice swimmingpool just next to the beach and restaurant. On booking we read some reviews about the food not being good. Well, must say that for us, this wasnt the case. We did almost did nothing for the 3 days and stayed all of our time at the resort, just relaxing, sunbathing and snorkling. So we had breakfast, lunch and dinner, and to be honest everything was quite good, especially the indonesian dishes were nice. Dont expect 2 star michelin, but thats also complete different price tag, so dont bother. Good dishes, good pricing, good staff. Also snorkling is good in front of the resort, they have a nice coral project, lots of fish. Also did a tour to Manjangan Island, great underwater scenery.
Cons: Nothing realy, villas are a bit noisy maybe, I’m light sleeper and didn’t bother to much. Mainly nature sounds..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, staff friendly and service excellent. The grounds are well maintained and the location for diving was great. The in house dive shop is well run and well priced with informative dive guides.
Cons: It is a long drive from Denpasar airport, expect 4 hours drive. We made a mistake booking our own transport to the resort and ended up with a driver who was unfriendly and in a car with broken seat belt. Return was with hotel driver and while a little more expensive, is worth the money.

7.1 Good
Pros: a good price for a good location. Comfort and services are ok. Great place to dive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was just as beautiful as the pictures described. The staff was extremely friendly, so we felt very much at home since the first moment we arrived. Amazing pool area surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. Great view from our balcony. Rooms were very clean and beautiful. We definitely recommend this place!
Cons: No shower curtain, so every time we showered, the bathroom turned into a pool ;-)
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice pool to come back to. The Indonesian staff were lovely.
Cons: If you didn’t speak french you were ignored. Too many divers on their day trips. The bathroom door didn’t close and when we mentioned it, they looked and left. No maintenance at all. We have stayed in plenty on Indonesian hotels and this seems to think if the diving is okay we don’t need to make an effort anywhere else.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great pool and super location!
Cons: Breakfast was a disappointment, especially compared to other hotels on Bali.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool ambience.
Cons: Breakfast and some of the staff was not as friendly as most of the Balinese we met in other places.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good food for dinner, nice atmosphere
Cons: Some employees a little bit unfriendly. Breakfast basic. Chicken in the neighbourhood loud in the night, not only at sunrise :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, great atmosphere and we loved the beach which was easy walking distance. Good location. Very nice restaurants in the area. Nice pool to chill out and for the kids to swim. Family rooms are nice and clean only a bit small for 4 to stay. Bathroom is open, although we did not a problem with mosquito's. Our son had a very nice diving try out in the pool.
Cons: We booked the snorkeling tour with them end although we did have a lovely day there was a lot of waiting involved. Both at the hotel before we departure about (30 min) and at before we could get on the boats also around 30-40 minutes.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location, easy access and have a big parking lot
Cons: There is no hot water in the room

Pros: Everything. A wonderful place. Beautiful rooms and amazing bathrooms, relaxing terraces. Beautiful clean warm pool and jacuzzi. Nice restaurant with great views. We did the snorkelling and 3-hour trek trips - both professionally led and with very friendly guides. All the staff were very friendly and kind.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect
6.7 Good
Pros: Very comfortabel beds, nice big pool, friendly staff. Good breakfast (buffet).
Cons: This was the most expensive hotel where we stayed in Bali, but not the best one. The prices of the food were like you can expect at a hotel of this price class, but not always worth it. Small portions. A remote location where a car/taxi is needed. The WiFi is really poor.
6.3 Good
Pros: No beach access.
Cons: Bad internet signal, limited food selection for breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is the 2nd time in this year I stayed at the hotel. Welcome drinks is always good, reception staff gave me room with a great sea view. The pool is spacious with beautiful view. Staff @resto really helpfull. Thank you nayagawana
Cons: Almost nothing, except hot water didnt work in the bathroom both on shower and washtafel (@kurakura room)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views were amazing. The staff very helpful - they even left a Happy Anniversary message on my bed. Such a peaceful resort to spend a few days relaxing.
Cons: It was a bit remote.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very pretty, and they pout two extra beds into the Lumburg room for our kids. Food was very good. Pool good. Massage to die for. Great view from be pool giving a lovely backdrop. Had a great snorkelling trip. Highlight was releasing a turtle into the wild from the local sanctuary. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Not cheap but we worth the money.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Distance away from the road, nice staff
Cons: larger Indonesian food selection
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, size and cleaniness of the room, swimming pool, beachfront location, access to the beach and lounge chairs in the garden with view to the beach and sea. As can be seen from our score, it was pretty much perfect for us.
Cons: It was all pretty much perfect, so no negatives
7.5 Good
Pros: The atmosphere is very nice, quiet beach, nice breakfast menu.
Cons: Bit disturbed with the mosquitoes, and no television.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a very nice place to stay. You get the beach right in front of the hotel and a large swimming pool with a low water area for smaller kids. We travel with to kids and they loved the pool. The area is very laid-back and there are not many visitors in the low season. So, niche. This place willy gets you all relaxed and happy with a local feel to it.
Cons: Maybe because we stayed there in the low season the hotel felt like it was a sleep. The pool was not that clean and this is not good when it heats up in the afternoon. In the restaurant, it was still possible to choose between 100 or more dishes to eat. All the food was not fantastic and not that fresh. I think the majority came from the freezer. It is impossible to offer 100 different dishes when only to rooms at the hotel is booked. The beach is public and not cleaned. So there as some plastic and other things in the water and on the beach. This is the reality and in some part good that travelers see this for it is our problem too.

Pros: A lovely place and wonderful place.
Cons: NA
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location on coast. Lovely pool and gardens. Consistently high quality and tasty food. Charming staff.
Cons: The hotel is very nice and most aspects of our stay were excellent, but at this price they should be! So a few area for improvement below: Furniture in room (arm chair, sofa, chez-long) was classic colonial and more decorative than comfortable to sit on. We felt that the hotel is overpriced - both the room rate (c.f. Other hotels we have stayed in during our holiday in Bali, but also on an international scale more expensive than a lot of good London hotels for example) and especially the lunch and dinner menus. The empty main restaurant in the evening suggests that other guests feel the same. The beachside restaurant (Leon) has a great location and is more popular but still very expensive c.f. similar beach restaurants in Permuteran bay. Finally, we were really unimpressed to be told that a transfer to Legian would cost 2,500,000 rupias.... clearly an inflated price. We said no thanks and that we would find our own local taxi... when the guy at reception suddenly said he could arrange one for 1,000,000 rupias.... clearly just asking what he thought he could get away with the first time! It may be a matter of personal preference... but although the staff are charming we got fed up of having 3 different members of staff coming to check if each and every course of our meals were ok and engaging in forced conversation (particularly after having explained that my wife was ill and so just eating plain rice... so was unlikely to want a spicy sauce or a cocktail!). Similarly, every time we passed reception we were asked about our onwards taxi arrangements (even in the day we arrived) and activity plans (trying to sell excursions).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything: friendly staff, very clean, one of the best breakfast we've had in Bali: execellent buffet breakfast with crsipy freshly baked bread, fresh juices and so much more... ; beautiful swimming pool, and excellent for a snorkeling or diving trip around menjangan island (they have a 5 star padi with marvellous service).
Cons: for us its one of the best hotels to stay in Bali - family feeling.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The highest quality accommodation in all of Bali.

Pros: Service was absolutely amazing. The resort is stunning, the better place to relax and get the most of bali.
Cons: Would have been helpful to have scooter as the nearest village is 10km far from the resort.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the location is amazing. the walk from the villa to the restaurant and main pool is like walking thru a well manicured park. The views from the restaurant out across the inlet and happenings of the adjacent jetty are a wonderful bonus! (The two natural hot spring baths were great for a sneaky night swim)
Cons: I dont think we could have wanted more.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasent resort, good atmosphere, nice hotsprings, and facilities overall; highly recommend for this area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a fabulous place ! The grounds are like a large park- comfy rooms with outdoor shower. Hot springs are located on the property. My room had a private pool and a hot spring tub. The restaurant is located on the edge of a lagoon.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everybody is really nice and friendly. Monkey’s in the grass. Relaxing atmosphere... the resort is really nice
Cons: The restaurant is a reason for me not to come back here. Chickennuggets... from the freezer, like warmed up in a microwave? Pizza the one you buy in a supermarket freezer and then a very very cheap brand. The prices are way too high.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place on beautiful location.Love the water station on every corner.Staff were amazing.
Cons: Food can be better, especially for breakfast.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Calm
Cons: No beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is quite, peace, calm & surroundings by nature. Just few mins walk to white sandy beach. Still calm not many people & touristics. U will find sometimes the monkeys in the garden but they r not aggressives.
Cons: We did the Menjangan National Park Trekking for 2hrs honestly it was bad for the price that they charged us. U could do on your own the trekking, no need the guide. It’s better u do 90mins Mimpi Massage in their spa than this trekking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hot spring pool, the wild animals (monkeys and huge lizards) and the view
Cons: Not much really

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bli Putu was very friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing, was perfect
7.5 Good
Pros: A clean room for an affordable price. Breakfast is served at the time you request and the garden is small but well maintained. You are staying in a local village and that in itself is a great experience. The real star of this place however is Putu. He is there to greet you with a smile and will help arrange any potential activities from snorkelling to bird watching. He is a gem and is quick to respond to your queries and address any concerns. He made the place feel homely and as a host he is 10/10. Sadly you aren’t paying for Putu, you are paying for accommodation of a certain standard. We felt that overall The Local Menjangan did not meet our standards.
Cons: The property itself is a little dated but that did not come as a surprise to us. The pictures on the website were a true representation. Regulating the shower is a skill we were not able to master over our three nights there. Either very hot or very cold or both from each end of the shower head. The bed and especially the pillows were not particularly comfortable from our point of view but that may very well just be us. To each their own. Kitchen was questionable in terms of cleanliness. However most guests probably won’t look in the kitchen or ask to store things in the fridge and in such cases I would say: Ignorance is bliss.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Local is situated on a small lane away from a similarly quiet main road surrounded by nature to a backdrop of mountains. Having an outdoor shower amongst nature was as refreshing as it gets, and you can see the stars at night from there too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and very helpful staff... If you are looking for the best Homestay in west of Bali, you have to stay at this property. 100% recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is just nice to accommodate 3 pax. Breakfast is good. And easy access to the pier to Menjangan Island.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable room with very comfortable bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: nice clean room shower in the nature nice environment if you like nature:)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and really do their best to make you feel at home. I stayed for a long time (roughly 3 weeks) and Putu - much to my surprise-even organised a little get together with dinner and live music performed by local kids. It was very nice, and they even convinced other guests to dance with us. The location is good - close to the main road and about 25 minutes walk from the nearest public beach. But I do recommend to get a scooter. Honestly one of the best homestays I’ve stayed at here in Bali (and I’ve been to plenty).
Cons: The staff doesn’t live on the property- so be sure to tell Putu via e-mail when you will be arriving. Somebody usually comes by every now and then but don’t expect someone always being there. But a quick whatsapp message somebody will be there for you. Other than that there really isn’t anything negative I can say :)

Pros: Beautiful gardens and 3 big swimming pools
Cons: Shower was a little bit cold but was fixed after I mentioned it

Pros: Service was very good, staff friendly, did a lot to keep mosquitoes away (smoke, sprayed the room and but the mosquito net over the bed), 3 swimming pools, great buffet breakfast, some restaurants and Warungs around the resort, located at the beach and very clean!
Cons: Trips were pretty expensive and also the food in the restaurant was good but also with a high price, WiFi could improve
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely little cottage which was nice and far from the main road and close to the pool/beach. There was a lovely private outdoor shower room which was great. The pools had lots of seating and were very quiet. We went on the snorkelling trip and visited local restaurants too.
Cons: The room wasn’t hugely well sealed, although there was a mosquito net and staff sprayed the room regularly to debug it.
