The Owners were very kind, supporting us with tips and indication for the major attractions.
Info better the customer about payment only in cash, because ATM is not available in the village. To equip the Gité with a baby cot, can be useful for young families
The owners were very hospitable and friendly, we had several nice chats. They gave helpful and clear instructions for the visit in the Mauricie park. Also, we received a park entrance for free. The rooms are cosy and tidy. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem as it was not busy, even though all the rooms were booked. Breakfast was amazing with pancakes, croissants, fruit, cheese, ham etc. There was a nice garden. The BnB was located close to the river and to the Mauricie National park. Overall, they made us feel welcome and at home. We would definitely book the BnB again.
For summer 2018, the access to the Mauricie park is closed due to roadworks. Thus, we had to drive about 30 min to the other entrance. There are several local restaurants around the property but they stop serving food at 9 pm.
Beautiful town, very nice breakfasts.
Although I was talked to many many times having lengthy conversations with the owners (they love to talk!) they never once mentioned it was cash only. I did receive an email from them about this however I never actually saw it. So at checkout I had to drive 15 Minutes to the nearest ATM (no offer to even follow me as to save time) and then drive back to pay them in cash. 1) it’s 2018, who doesn’t take card? 2) there were many many opportunities to mention this. This is very unprofessional. I would not have booked this place if I knew this in advance.
The friendliness. Both host and hostess were wonderful and led a wonderful group breakfast in the morning. This was the best part of the stay as we arrived late.
The breakfast itself was very heavy in cheese and not necessarily the best before a long hike (most of us were planning hikes that day). In fairness, they did ask if we had dietary restrictions, which we did not mention so that is on us. Certain they would have accommodated us.
A great place to stay at! Meggy and her husband are very friendly and helpful. She recommended several nice hiking trails in the Mauricie National Park, which is just a few minutes away by car. The breakfast was prepared with love and very extensive.
